(10/25/2009) Notable Steelers defenders from Week 7 vs. the Vikings include: LB Keyaron Fox (four total tackles, interception return for a touchdown), LB LaMarr Woodley (two total tackles, fumble return for a touchdown), LB James Farrior (15 total tackles, sack), LB James Harrison (seven total tackles, two sacks), and DE Brett Keisel (four total tackles, sack, forced fumble). Safety Troy Polamalu added six solo tackles.

Timmons still not practicing


(9/8/2009) Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons did not practice again Tuesday because of a high-ankle sprain and is not expected to play in the NFL season opener against Tennessee. Timmons did not take part in any pre-game practices, and Steelers players who do not practice rarely play. Pittsburgh faces the Titans on Thursday.

LB Fox stays in the Burgh


(4/7/2009) The Steelers have re-signed another of their free agents, linebacker Keyaron Fox, to a two-year deal. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Fox joined Pittsburgh last season after four years with Kansas City. He was mostly a special teams player for the Super Bowl champions, appearing in 13 games and finishing second on the team with a career-high 21 tackles in kick coverage. A third-round pick out of Georgia Tech in 2004, Fox has played in 53 regular-season games, with 73 tackles (52 solo) and one sack.

Chiefs announce tendering RFAs


(3/2/2007) The Chiefs have tendered restricted free agents LB Keyaron Fox, WR Samie Parker, OT Kevin Sampson, DB Benny Sapp, LB Rich Scanlon and PK Lawrence Tynes. If any of them sign an offer sheet with another team, the Chiefs have the right of first refusal. If they did not match the offer sheet, they would receive as compensation a third-round pick for Fox, a fourth for Parker and a seventh for Sampson. Scanlon and Tynes carry no compensation.

(12/3/2006) The Chiefs defense managed to knock starting Browns QB Charlie Frye out of the game with a wrist injury, but they didn't expect backup QB Derek Anderson to have the type of game he did. The Browns racked up 438 total yards and 31 points on their way to a come from behind win in Week 13. LB Kawika Mitchell had 11 tackles and an interception, while LB Keyaron Fox had 12 tackles and a sack.

LB Fox to start in KC?


(8/31/2006) The Kansas City Star reports that LB Keyaron Fox has had a solid preseason and training camp and might oust Kendrell Bell from a starting job with the Chiefs. "No one has said, 'I'm the guy' yet," head coach Herm Edwards said. "Both of them are playing well. You feel like you have four starting linebackers, and that's never bad to have, and if you play all four, that's fine. If we have to keep doing that during the season, we'll keep doing that."
