In Week 14, Jacksonville hosts Oakland, and Scobee should continue to be used in only deeper formats for that matchup.

News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee, who missed two field goals against Houston in Week 10, redeemed himself on his lone attempt in Sunday's Week 11 victory over Jacksonville. Scobee's 47-yard boot in the first quarter allowed the Jaguars to score first for the third consecutive game. They moved to 3-0 in those games. He also converted all three point-after attempts.
Analysis: After a couple of rare misses against Houston in Week 10, Scobee got back in the groove with a kick right down the middle Sunday. Scobee has now hit 8 of 9 field-goal attempts from beyond 40 yards and all 25 of his extra-points. He's still a No. 1 Fantasy kicker heading into the Week 12 matchup against the Giants.
News: A Hail Mary pass bailed out Jaguars K Josh Scobee in Week 10 against the Texans. After Scobee's second missed field goal of the day went wide left with 1:39 remaining, the Jaguars got one last chance to win the game after Houston coughed up the football on a fumble. David Garrard heaved the football 50 yards and after a Houston tip it ended up in the hands of Mike Thomas, who walked into the end zone for the game-winning score. Scobee missed from 39 and 43 yards -- both in the fourth quarter. "I didn't make a good effort on the last kick,'' he said. "The defense bailed me out big time. I can't thank them enough.'' He did connect from 38 yards in the first quarter and hit all four extra points.
Analysis: Scobee had hit his first 14 field goals of the season before his two fourth-quarter misses. Even the best kickers eventually miss. Unless Scobee continues to miss kicks, he will not lose his job. He has just one game of 10 or more points in 2010. The Jaguars have been playing better on offense lately, but Scobee is one of those safe Fantasy options. It doesn't appear he is going to have many home-run performances. Consider him a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker for Week 11 against the Browns.
News: The Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely dominated the Cowboys in Dallas in Week 8 and kicker Josh Scobee was not asked to try a single field goal. The Jaguars routed the Cowboys 35-17 and Scobee went just 5 for 5 on extra points for a total of five points in the contest.
Analysis: Scobee did not even attempt a field goal for the first time all season in the Week 8 rout of Dallas. The Jaguars have not been great this season but as long as David Garrard is under center, Scobee should get his opportunities. He has recorded at least five points in all but one game this season and is a recommended Fantasy start most weeks. Leave him benched Week 9, however, with the Jaguars on bye. They return Week 10 against Houston.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had a solid game in Week 7 at Kansas City on Sunday. He made both of his field goals (35 and 18 yards) and two extra points. Scobee is now 13 of 13 on field goals this season.
Analysis: Scobee continues to have a nice year and is worth using as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker most weeks. He is a good bye-week replacement, and we could consider starting Scobee in Week 8 at Dallas.

Analysis: Scobee has made all 11 of his field goal attempts this season and has a long of 59 yards. The problem is that the Jaguars really struggle on offense, so Fantasy owners may have to deal with low scores like this sometimes. Consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy K heading into Week 7.

Analysis: Scobee's previous high for the season had been seven points. The Jaguars offense had provided him with just five field goals combined over the first four games, but Scobee was just about the team's best offensive weapon against the Bills in a game in which the Jaguars offense sputtered out in field goal range often. Games like this don't come around often for kickers, but Scobee is proving consistent enough to trust as a starter in most formats. The Jags will host the Titans in Week 6 in another game that smells like a field-goal fest.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee didn't see much playing time on Sunday against Indianapolis, but was a huge part of the outcome of the game and part of NFL history. He hit the game-winning 59-yard field goal in Week 4, giving the Jaguars the 31-28 win over the rival Colts. "He's been good in practice upward of 65 yards," coach Jack Del Rio said. "We know he has the leg at the end to give us the opportunity and he nailed it.'' His field goal was the eighth longest in NFL history -- third longest game-winning field goal -- and longest by any kicker for Jacksonville. The Jaguars previous best field goal was a 53-yarder. Scobee was told his kick had 3 yards to spare, to which he gave this response: "I don't care if it was an inch." Scobee told QB David Garrard just to get close to the 40-yard line and the quarterback delivered. He also converted all four of his extra point attempts.
Analysis: Scobee matched his extra points from the first three weeks in one game for the Jaguars as he is now 8 for 8. He's also perfect on his field goal attempts, going 5 for 5. Scobee watched it clear the crossbar, then ripped off his helmet and started running toward the opposite end zone. It's good to see the enthusiasm and also good to see he didn't injure himself celebrating. While Scobee is a consistent kicker with a big leg, he hasn't been getting many opportunities to score this year, which limits his Fantasy value. Heading into Week 5, Jacksonville travels to Buffalo which is a favorable matchup. Scobee could be a nice bye-week filler for Fantasy owners for Week 5.

The Jaguars have not done much scoring this season so his leg will be valuable when drives still in opponents territory. Carney's most infamous extra-point miss -- a late-game try after the Saints used several laterals to score a touchdown to pull them to within a point with a playoff berth on the line -- happened in Jacksonville. The Jaguars were still assessing how long Scobee would be sidelined, and Del Rio said it was possible he could end up on injured reserve. But Del Rio also was hopeful Scobee could return soon. Until then, Carney will handle field goals, extra points and kickoffs.
