News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee didn't attempt a field goal and finished with just two extra points Week 17 at Tennessee. It was the third time this season Scobee was held without a field goal.
Analysis: Scobee finishes the season with 25 of 28 field goal conversions, but he attempted just 19 extra points, which was a career-low. Scobee is a very good kicker, but he hasn't been very reliable for Fantasy owners the last few seasons because of the Jaguars struggles on offense. Scobee will have very low-end Fantasy appeal on Draft Day 2013.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee put forth a so-so effort on Sunday in the Week 16 loss to the Patriots. Scobee missed another field goal, but did go 3 for 4 with a long of 42 yards in the game. He added one extra point to finish with 10 points on the game.
Analysis: Scobee has been about as unreliable as they come in Fantasy play of late as he's had two double figure scoring performance in his last eight games. Heading into Week 17 at Tennessee, Scobee is not a recommended Fantasy option in all formats.
News: For the fourth game in a row, Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was limited to just one field goal in Week 15 against the Dolphins Sunday. Scobee connected from 37 yards, the teams only points in a 24-3 loss.
Analysis: Scobee is connecting on 91.7 percent of his field-goal tries this season, but he has still been held to single-digit scoring in 11 of 14 games. The Jaguars have one of the worst offenses in the league, rendering his considerable talent moot for Fantasy purposes. He is just a low-end option for Week 16 against New England.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee connected on 1 of his 2 field-goal attempts and one extra point during the Jaguars' 17-10 loss to the Jets in Week 14. Scobee booted a 31-yard field goal to open the scoring in the second quarter. He was also wide left on a 55-yard attempt just before halftime, his first miss since Week 10 against Indianapolis.
Analysis: Scobee's miss on Sunday was just his second of the season as he entered the game with a sterling 95.2 percent conversion rate. He is now 21 for 22 overall on the season, but just one of his kicks have come from outside of 50 yards. His accuracy makes him a reliable option for the Jaguars, but his lack of consistent chances makes him a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 15 at Miami.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had just one field goal Week 13 at Buffalo, marking the second straight game and the fourth in five in which he's had fewer than two. He had three field goals Week 11 at Houston. Scobee's lone field goal against the Bills was a 36-yarder. He also had an extra point.
Analysis: The Jaguars offense has shown improvement with Chad Henne under center over the last couple weeks, but so far, Scobee hasn't really benefited. Now that the bye weeks are over, you don't have much incentive to look his way in Fantasy even if his production improves in the weeks ahead. Consider Scobee just a last resort at kicker.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee iced the Titans in the Week 12 game Sunday with his 41-yard field goal with just 24 seconds remaining. Scobee finished 1 for 1 on field goals in the game and added three extra points to finish with six points scored.
Analysis: Scobee was afforded just one field goal opportunity in the Week 12 game, despite Jacksonville playing well offensively. He had a solid performance in the Week 11 game at Houston, but has generally put up mediocre Fantasy games this season for the Jaguars. Scobee is not really a recommended Fantasy option for Week 13 at Buffalo.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee had a solid performance in the Week 11 overtime loss at Houston Sunday. Scobee finished the game with 13 points scored as he went 3 for 3 on field goals. Scobee had a long field goal of 43 yards and added four PATs.
Analysis: Scobee has only had a couple double-digit scoring performances on the season for the Jaguars as the team generally has trouble scoring. That was not the case in Week 11 but we doubt it will continue. He is a low-end option for Week 12 against Tennessee.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee missed his first field goal of the season against the Colts in Week 10. Scobee hooked a 44-yard attempt to the right in the opening quarter and got back on track with a 40-yard boot in the second quarter. Scobe converted an extra point and finished with four points in a 27-10 defeat.
Analysis: Scobee has been automatic all season long until he missed his first kick of the night. He has converted 15 of 16 field goals with a long of 50 yards out this season and has struggled to turn in some consistent production in his last two games. Scobee remains just a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 11 against the Texans.
News: Just when he was beginning to look like a steady contributor, with three field goals in each of his last two games, Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee got a dose of reality Week 9 against the Lions. He didn't contribute a single point. He didn't even attempt a field goal. The Jaguars did score two touchdowns in the game, but they followed up each score with a two-point attempt.
Analysis: Sounds like Fantasy owners got a dose of reality as well. The Jaguars have one of the worst offenses in the league, and as a result, Scobee's opportunities are sporadic. Consider him no more than a last resort in Fantasy for Week 10 against the Colts.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee connected on three field goals Week 8 at Green Bay. Scobee converted from 22, 32 and 38 yards. It was the second straight game and third time this season he made three field goals in a game.
Analysis: Scobee is a perfect 14 of 14 on field goal attempts this season. He is a very good kicker, but he plays on a team that is inconsistent offensively. Scobee remains just a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 9 vs. Detroit.
News: Kicker Josh Scobee became the all-time field goal leader in Jaguars' history in Week 7 against the Raiders. He converted his 176th career field goal from 50 yards out in the second quarter, breaking his tie with Mike Hollis. Scobee made all three of his field goals Sunday and also converted two extra points in the 26-23 loss. His field goals were from distances of 40, 45 and 50 yards.
Analysis: After making just one field goal a week ago, Scobee had a productive Week 7 and has yet to miss a kick on the year. Since the Jaguars do not have the most potent offense in the NFL, however, the 30-year-old remains more of a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 8 against the Packers.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee converted his lone field-goal attempt from 31 yards to account for the Jaguars' only points during a 41-3 loss to Chicago in Week 5. Scobee, who is now 8 for 8 on field-goal attempts, tied Mike Hollis for the most field goals (175) in franchise history.
Analysis: On a 1-5 team that has struggled to score points, Scobee has served as one of Jacksonville's top scoring options. That's not a good sign for the Jaguars. He is converting 100 percent of his kicks this year, but Jacksonville will not provide him many chances. Fantasy owners should continue to seek other alternatives for the Jaguars' next game in Week 7 at Oakland. They are idle in Week 6.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee had a quiet day as he drilled one field goal and an extra point during Sunday's contest against the Bengals in Week 4. Scobee nailed a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter, which accounted for most of his action on the afternoon.
Analysis: Scobee has been a bit inconsistent this season, which is expected when you play for a team with a struggling offense. He has converted all seven of his field goal attempts and has a long of 47 yards out. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end option heading into Week 5 at home against the Bears.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee finished 3 for 3 on field-goal attempts with a long of 47 yards during the Jaguars' 22-17 win over Indianapolis in Week 3. Scobee also converted kicks of 44 and 26 yards to remain perfect on the season (6 for 6). He also nailed his lone extra-point try.
Analysis: Scobee bounced back from a quiet effort last Sunday when he was needed for just one extra point in a loss to Houston. He has now booted two 47-yard field goals and has one of the strongest legs in the league. But he his chances are limited with the Jaguars' inconsistent offense and he remains a low-end option for Week 4 against Cincinnati.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee had a quiet day against the Texans in Week 2. Scobee sat in the sidelines for most of the game as he converted just one extra point in a 27-7 defeat. Scobee was not needed for any field goal opportunities on the afternoon.
Analysis: Scobee had a quiet day coming off his previous week where he nailed three field goals, including one from 47 yards out. If the Jaguars continue to struggle like this on offense, Scobee will barely make an impact in Fantasy throughout the season. He has low-end Fantasy appeal heading into Week 3 against the Colts.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee kicked three field goals Week 1 against the Vikings, but Jacksonville still fell 26-23 in overtime. Scobee connected from 19, 26 and 47 yards. He had his only extra-point attempt blocked.
Analysis: Scobee had three field goals and 10 points in Week 1 last season. He had more than 10 points in a game and three or more field goals in just two more games the rest of the season. We don't think this year's Jaguars' team will struggle as much offensively as last year's team, but Scobee still has low-end Fantasy appeal heading into Week 2 against the Texans.
News: CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Jaguars and kicker Josh Scobee have agreed to a four-year contract extension. Scobee had said previously he wouldn't come to training camp unless he had a long-term deal.
Analysis: Scobee hit 23 of 25 field goals (92 pct.) last year with five of six field goals from 50-plus yards. It was his best season since 2007, and in between those years he didn't make even 80 percent of his field goals. He also hasn't made more than the 23 field goals he hit in 2011 since 2006. Unless the Jaguars offense performs better than expected, Scobee's field goal attempts will be limited. We wouldn't draft him.
News: The Jaguars and franchised kicker Josh Scobee have returned to the negotiating table, according to the Florida Times-Union. Scobee has refused to sign his franchise tender and might not show up for training camp unless he's given an extension. If an extension isn't reached by July 16, Scobee must either play under the one-year deal of the tender or sit out the season.
Unless the Jaguars offense undergoes a facelift and gets some more firepower, Scobee's field goal attempts will be limited. The fact that he's unhappy with getting offered over $2 million guaranteed is another red flag. We wouldn't draft him.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that the Jaguars have placed the franchise tag on kicker Josh Scobee, and that Scobee is unhappy with it. Per the paper, Scobee has no plans to sign the franchise tender, worth an estimated $2.6 million guaranteed.

News: The Florida Times-Union reports that preliminary discussions have begun about Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee's contract, and both sides want a long-term deal reached. The franchise tag is an option for Scobee, and the Jaguars are not planning to consider using it on any of their other players. The kicker tag number is expected to be around $2.65 million. That means a kicker who is franchised will be paid that sum for a one-year deal, and it will cost two first-round picks for another team to sign him.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Scobee. He is not worth drafting in the majority of leagues, but he could be used as a bye-week replacement as long as he remains with the Jaguars.
News: The Sports Xchange reports that Jacksonville has most of its top offensive players locked into contracts for the coming season with one notable exception - kicker Josh Scobee, who is an eight-year veteran. Scobee has been one of the league's most accurate kickers in his eight seasons with the Jaguars, converting better than 75 percent of his field-goal attempts in all but one season. Scobee led the team in scoring last year with 92 points, including 23 of 25 (92 percent) field-goal attempts, the second time in his career he's finished over 90 percent with his kicks. It isn't likely the Jaguars would use the franchise tag on him and probably won't have to. They'll make every attempt to sign him. For a team that was among the league's lowest scoring clubs, the Jaguars can ill afford to lose a player with Scobee's talents.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Scobee. He is not worth drafting in the majority of leagues, but he could be used as a bye-week replacement as long as he remains with the Jaguars.
News:Josh Scobee hit four field goals and an extra point, helping pace the Jaguars to victory over the Colts in Week 17. Scobee was good from 25, 32, 47 and 39 yards.
Analysis: Scobee should be an interesting kicker to consider late in drafts in 2012. If the Jaguars add some explosiveness to their offense, Scobee could kick more. We'll see how his situation shakes out.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee booted his only field-goal attempt and two extra points during the Jaguars' 23-17 loss at Tennessee in Week 16. Scobee nailed a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter -- his first attempt in the past four games.
Analysis: Scobee has been one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL, but his chances have decreased immensely in the last part of the season. The 29-year-old has missed just two attempts and should be considered a low-end Fantasy option for Week 17 against Indianapolis.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee hit both his extra-point attempts in Week 15 versus Atlanta. He would not get a chance to try a field goal though as the Jaguars got whipped by the Falcons, 41-14.
Analysis: Scobee entered the game with a groin injury, but was able to play. The Jags signed a kicker to the practice squad earlier in the week and will likely keep an eye on Scobee's injury moving forward. The Jaguars face the Titans in Week 16. Fantasy owners should consider Scobee a low-end option at this point of the year.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee, who was questionable with a groin injury, has been cleared to play Week 15 at Atlanta.
Analysis: The Jags signed a kicker to the practice squad earlier this week just in case Scobee couldn't make it onto the field, but there was no need to activate him after all since Scobee was cleared to play. Still, the Jags offense is very inconsistent, so Scobee has low-end Fantasy appeal for Week 15.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee was able to return to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday and is being considered questionable for Week 15 against the Falcons. He missed practice each of the previous two days after suffering a groin injury last Sunday. Jacksonville on Monday signed Brandon Couto to the practice squad as an emergency backup in case Scobee cant play
Analysis: It was looking as though Scobee was not going to be able to play on Thursday night but the fact that he was able to practice Wednesday bodes well for his status. He will likely be a game-time decision so keep an eye on his status leading up to inactives. While he has not made a field goal in three games, Scobee has proven to be a reliable kicker and should be considered a viable option in Fantasy if healthy for Week 15.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee (groin) did not practice Tuesday. The Jaguars signed K Brandon Coutu to the practice squad Monday and a decision will be made by Wednesday whether to activate Coutu for Week 15 against the Falcons.
Analysis: With the Jaguars playing on Thursday night, there might not be enough time for Scobee to heal so keep an eye on his progress going forward. While he has not made a field goal in three games, he has proven to be a reliable kicker and should be considered a viable option in Fantasy if healthy for Week 15.
News: Jaguars interim coach Mel Tucker said Monday that it is a wait-and-see approach with kicker Josh Scobee, who hurt his leg Sunday against the Bucs. Tucker added the team might have to sign a kicker if Scobee cannot kick Thursday against the Falcons.
Analysis: Scobee has been accurate in 2011, but he just hasn't gotten regular scoring chances thanks to a usually anemic offense. He has low-end Fantasy appeal to begin with, so look to healthier alternatives in Week 15.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee was pulled during the fourth quarter of Week 14 against Tampa Bay with a right leg injury. He was considered questionable to return, but did not kick off following a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Instead, the Jaguars used LB Russell Allen to execute a short kickoff. Scobee finished with five extra points before departing. Jacksonville attempted a two-point conversion after its last touchdown.
Analysis: Scobee, one of the NFLs most consistent kickers this season, could be a big loss for the Jaguars as they have struggled to score points. Interim coach Mel Tucker said afterward he had been told Scobee was tight. The best thing at that point was to shut him down," Tucker said. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status and consider him a viable option in Week 15 at Atlanta on Thursday night.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee had a slow outing in Week 13 against the Chargers. He converted just two extra points in the 38-14 loss. He lined up to attempt a field goal in the fourth quarter but a bad snap caused the ball to go over the holder's head.
Analysis: Scobee has not attempted a field goal in two games this season as the Jaguars continue to struggle on offense. While he has made 18 of 20 field goals thus far, including 11 of 13 from 40-plus yards, continue to view him as a low-end Fantasy K heading into Week 14 against the Buccaneers.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee hit two field goals Sunday against Houston in Week 12 on three attempts. His longest made kick was from 35 yards, and he added one extra point.
Analysis: Scobee is a No. 2 Fantasy kicker in the majority of leagues. He should only be started in deeper formats in Week 13 against San Diego.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked a 42-yard field goal in the fourth quarter of a 14-10 loss to the Browns in Week 11. Scobee also converted his lone PAT.
Analysis: Scobee has had just two games this season with 10-plus points. He has missed just one field goal this season and has hit all five attempts from 50-plus yards. However, he just doesn't get enough chances on a weekly basis since the Jaguars offense is struggling behind a rookie QB. Scobee is at best a No. 2 Fantasy kicker heading into Week 12 vs. Houston. Scobee had no FGs and two extra points in Week 8 against Houston.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee, who was limited to only two points in the team's last game Week 8 at Houston, scored five Week 10 at Indianapolis. He kicked a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter and added two extra points. He also missed a field goal attempt -- a 45-yarder -- in the second quarter.
Analysis: Five points is better than two, no doubt, but it still isn't a particularly good performance Fantasy-wise. Yet because he plays for a low-scoring Jaguars team, Scobee has been held to five points or less in five of his nine games. Unless the Jaguars offense improves between now and the end of the season, he'll remain no more than a last resort in Fantasy. The Jaguars visit the Browns in Week 11.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had a quiet game Sunday at the Texans in Week 8 with no field goals and two extra points. This was after Scobee had four field goals in Week 7against Baltimore, including three from 50-plus yards. Scobee did not attempt a field goal at Houston and had his streak of 15 games with a field goal snapped.
Analysis: Scobee was due for a letdown after his game against the Ravens, and hopefully he can rebound in the Jaguars' next game. Jacksonville is off in Week 9 before playing at the Colts in Week 10. Consider Scobee a No. 2 Fantasy kicker when the Jaguars play the Colts.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee turned in his most productive game of the season in Week 7 against the Ravens. Scobee made all four of his field-goal attempts in the contest, including three from 50-plus yards. He nailed a pair of 54-yard attempts in the first half and then hit from 22 and 51-yards in the fourth quarter. Being that we havent scored a ton of points this year, I know that every time Im out there its very important," he said. His three made field goals of 50 or more yards tied an NFL record.
Analysis: Scobee is now 14 for 14 in field-goal attempts this season and has very quietly been putting together a very solid season in Jacksonville. He has now hit five field goals of 50-plus yards this season with a long of 55 yards. While Jacksonville's pedestrian offense sometimes will limit his chances for points, Scobee's big leg allows him to attempt longer tries than most. Consider him a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy K heading into Week 8 against the Texans.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee turned in his most productive game of the season in Week 7 against the Ravens. Scobee made all four of his field-goal attempts in the contest, including three from 50-plus yards.. He nailed a pair of 54-yard attempts in the first half and then hit from 22 and 51-yards in the fourth quarter.
Analysis: Scobee is now 14 for 14 in field-goal attempts this season and has been very quietly been putting together a very solid season in Jacksonville. He has now hit five field-goals of 50-plus yards this season with a long of 55 yards. While Jacksonville's pedestrian offense sometimes will limit his chances for points, Scobee's big leg allows him to attempt longer tries than most. Consider him a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy K heading into Week 8 against the Texans.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee converted both of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra point during the Jaguars' 17-13 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 6 on Sunday. Scobee booted kicks of 46 yards (second quarter) and 45 yards (fourth) to remain perfect on the season. His first kick marked his 14th consecutive game with a field goal, setting a franchise record.
Analysis: Scobee is now 10 for 10 this year as he notched his first field goals of the season from 40 yards. The veteran kicker hasn't seen many opportunities as the Jaguars have managed little on offense in their 1-5 start. Consider Scobee a low-end option in Week 7 against Baltimore.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee didn't get much work in Week 5, but he was perfect in the 30-20 loss to the Bengals. He made field goals from 19 and 20 yards -- both in the second quarter -- and he hit both of his extra-point attempts.
Analysis: The Jaguars have one of the league's worst offenses, so no matter how accurate Scobee might be, he can't be counted on for much production. At best, Scobee is a last resort for Fantasy owners in deep leagues.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee converted on his only field goal attempt in Week 4 against the Siants, a 31-yard effort. He added one extra point to give him just four points in the game.
Analysis: The Jaguars finished the game with only 10 points as they continue to struggle offensively. With a rookie QB at the helm, expect more growing pains ahead. This makes Scobee a very low-end option in Fantasy play going forward.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee, whose only contribution in Week 2 was a 55-yard field goal, had a similar performance Week 3 at Carolina. This time, he had an extra point to go with the long field goal -- a 53-yarder in the second quarter.
Analysis: Scobee is getting pretty good at the 50-yard field goals, but if he doesn't get the extra points in between, he's not going to be especially useful in Fantasy. With the transition from Luke McCown to rookie Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, the Jaguars are struggling to score right now. You should consider Scobee nothing more the a last resort in Fantasy.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee accounted for the Jaguars' only points in a 32-3 loss to the Jets in Week 2 on Sunday. Scobee booted a 55-yard field goal -- his only attempt in the game -- with just over three minutes left in the first quarter.
Analysis: After registering three field goals during Jacksonville's Week 1 victory over Tennessee, Scobee was not needed as much Sunday as the team managed only 203 yards of total offense. Scobee has strong range and should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy K for Week 3 at Carolina.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee had a big impact in the team's 16-14 win over the Titans in Week 1. He netted 10 points on the afternoon, making good on three field goals and an extra point. Scobee was successful on each of his attempts, hitting from 48 yards, 21 yards and 45 yards out.
Analysis: Scobee has been a reliable kicker for both the team and Fantasy purposes for the majority of his career with Jacksonville, and he got off to a solid start on Sunday. Owners should continue to utilize him as a solid option going forward, though we see him as a No. 2 guy in Week 2 with the Jets on the schedule.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee has been held out of practice this week with tightness in his leg, but coach Jack Del Rio said he should be available for Thursday's preseason game against New England. If not, the team brought in Sam Swank for the interim.
Analysis: Scobee hasn't missed a game the last three seasons. In fact, he has played less than 16 games just once in seven seasons, so he is a pretty durable kicker. The Jaguars offense has been a bit inconsistent the last few seasons, which is why Scobee is more of a No. 2 Fantasy kicker heading into 2011.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made one of his two field goal attempts in Week 17 against the Texans. Scobee hit from 39-yards out in the second quarter but then missed wide left on a 46-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. He did make both of his PATs and finished with five points in the 34-17 loss.
Analysis: Scobee finished the 2010 season 22 of 27 in field goal attempts with a long of 59 yards. While he still shows decent accuracy and a strong leg, Scobee only scored in double digits once this season. The Jaguars were not very good on offense this season, which limited Scobee's opportunities this season. Consider him a low-end Fantasy K heading into 2011.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee missed a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter of the Week 16 overtime loss to Washington. Clearly, that field goal could have been the difference in the game. He went 1 for 2 in the game and connected on a 34-yard field goal in the third quarter. He added two extra points and totaled five points scored.
Analysis: Scobee has one single double-digit scoring performance on the season and that came back in Week 5 at Buffalo. He has a decent shot in Houston in Week 17 as the Texans give up a lot of points. That said, his track record makes him someone to avoid in all formats for the regular-season finale.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee recorded six points in the Week 15 loss in Indianapolis. The Jaguars' kicker went 1 for 1 on field goals with his only attempt coming from 22 yards out in the second quarter. He went 3 for 3 on PATs in the game.
Analysis: Scobee has not recorded double figures in scoring since Week 5 at Buffalo and has only done it once this year. That suggests he's not worth using in most Fantasy leagues. He's consistent, but not spectacular, and should only bring marginal Fantasy appeal heading into Week 16 against Washington.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee hit five extra points and a 19-yard field goal vs. Oakland in Week 14.
Analysis: Scobee has been bouncing between five and eight Fantasy points in standard formats for weeks. Figure him to keep that steady mark going in Week 15 at Indy.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made just one of his three field goals along two extra points in a Week 13 win over Tennessee. Scobee was good from 26 yards, but had a 49-yarder blocked and hit the post with a 48-yard attempt.
Analysis: Scobee has just one game of double-figure points this season, and while he ranks as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker in deeper formats, the Jags offense just isn't good enough for him to have a great outing more than on a very rare occasion. In Week 14, Jacksonville hosts Oakland, and Scobee should continue to be used in only deeper formats for that matchup.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee hit a pair of field goals in Week 12 against the Giants. He hit from 22 yards out in the second quarter and then 42 yards out in the fourth. He also made both of his extra points for an eight-point outing. It was the sixth straight game Scobee failed to reach double-digit in points.
Analysis: Scobee has attempted more than two field goals just twice this season. It seems the Jaguars are touchdowns or nothing else. Scobee is more of a high-end No. 2 Fantasy kicker for Week 13 against the Titans. He had just one field goal in Week 6 against Tennessee.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee, who missed two field goals against Houston in Week 10, redeemed himself on his lone attempt in Sunday's Week 11 victory over Jacksonville. Scobee's 47-yard boot in the first quarter allowed the Jaguars to score first for the third consecutive game. They moved to 3-0 in those games. He also converted all three point-after attempts.
Analysis: After a couple of rare misses against Houston in Week 10, Scobee got back in the groove with a kick right down the middle Sunday. Scobee has now hit 8 of 9 field-goal attempts from beyond 40 yards and all 25 of his extra-points. He's still a No. 1 Fantasy kicker heading into the Week 12 matchup against the Giants.
News: A Hail Mary pass bailed out Jaguars K Josh Scobee in Week 10 against the Texans. After Scobee's second missed field goal of the day went wide left with 1:39 remaining, the Jaguars got one last chance to win the game after Houston coughed up the football on a fumble. David Garrard heaved the football 50 yards and after a Houston tip it ended up in the hands of Mike Thomas, who walked into the end zone for the game-winning score. Scobee missed from 39 and 43 yards -- both in the fourth quarter. "I didn't make a good effort on the last kick,'' he said. "The defense bailed me out big time. I can't thank them enough.'' He did connect from 38 yards in the first quarter and hit all four extra points.
Analysis: Scobee had hit his first 14 field goals of the season before his two fourth-quarter misses. Even the best kickers eventually miss. Unless Scobee continues to miss kicks, he will not lose his job. He has just one game of 10 or more points in 2010. The Jaguars have been playing better on offense lately, but Scobee is one of those safe Fantasy options. It doesn't appear he is going to have many home-run performances. Consider him a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker for Week 11 against the Browns.
News: The Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely dominated the Cowboys in Dallas in Week 8 and kicker Josh Scobee was not asked to try a single field goal. The Jaguars routed the Cowboys 35-17 and Scobee went just 5 for 5 on extra points for a total of five points in the contest.
Analysis: Scobee did not even attempt a field goal for the first time all season in the Week 8 rout of Dallas. The Jaguars have not been great this season but as long as David Garrard is under center, Scobee should get his opportunities. He has recorded at least five points in all but one game this season and is a recommended Fantasy start most weeks. Leave him benched Week 9, however, with the Jaguars on bye. They return Week 10 against Houston.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had a solid game in Week 7 at Kansas City on Sunday. He made both of his field goals (35 and 18 yards) and two extra points. Scobee is now 13 of 13 on field goals this season.
Analysis: Scobee continues to have a nice year and is worth using as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker most weeks. He is a good bye-week replacement, and we could consider starting Scobee in Week 8 at Dallas.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made his lone field goal attempt in Week 6 against the Titans. He nailed a 33-yarder in the third quarter that would turn out to be the only points the Jaguars would score all night. Jacksonville did not score a touchdown in the 30-3 loss, so Scobee did not have extra-point attempt for the second time this season.
Analysis: Scobee has made all 11 of his field goal attempts this season and has a long of 59 yards. The problem is that the Jaguars really struggle on offense, so Fantasy owners may have to deal with low scores like this sometimes. Consider him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy K heading into Week 7.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made a season-high five field goals in Week 5 at Buffalo. He added three extra points to finish with 18 points. Scobee has yet to miss a field goal on the season.
Analysis: Scobee's previous high for the season had been seven points. The Jaguars offense had provided him with just five field goals combined over the first four games, but Scobee was just about the team's best offensive weapon against the Bills in a game in which the Jaguars offense sputtered out in field goal range often. Games like this don't come around often for kickers, but Scobee is proving consistent enough to trust as a starter in most formats. The Jags will host the Titans in Week 6 in another game that smells like a field-goal fest.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee didn't see much playing time on Sunday against Indianapolis, but was a huge part of the outcome of the game and part of NFL history. He hit the game-winning 59-yard field goal in Week 4, giving the Jaguars the 31-28 win over the rival Colts. "He's been good in practice upward of 65 yards," coach Jack Del Rio said. "We know he has the leg at the end to give us the opportunity and he nailed it.'' His field goal was the eighth longest in NFL history -- third longest game-winning field goal -- and longest by any kicker for Jacksonville. The Jaguars previous best field goal was a 53-yarder. Scobee was told his kick had 3 yards to spare, to which he gave this response: "I don't care if it was an inch." Scobee told QB David Garrard just to get close to the 40-yard line and the quarterback delivered. He also converted all four of his extra point attempts.
Analysis: Scobee matched his extra points from the first three weeks in one game for the Jaguars as he is now 8 for 8. He's also perfect on his field goal attempts, going 5 for 5. Scobee watched it clear the crossbar, then ripped off his helmet and started running toward the opposite end zone. It's good to see the enthusiasm and also good to see he didn't injure himself celebrating. While Scobee is a consistent kicker with a big leg, he hasn't been getting many opportunities to score this year, which limits his Fantasy value. Heading into Week 5, Jacksonville travels to Buffalo which is a favorable matchup. Scobee could be a nice bye-week filler for Fantasy owners for Week 5.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee did not receive too many attempts in Week 3 against the Eagles. He had just one field goal attempt, making it from 51 yards in the second quarter. He accounted for all of Jacksonville's scoring in the 28-3 loss to Philadelphia.
Analysis: Scobee nailed his lone field goal attempt in Week 3 and is still a perfect this 4 for 4 this year. He has made every attempt in preseason and regular season. The Jaguars have not done much scoring this season so his leg will be valuable when drives still in opponents territory. Scobee remains a low-end option in most leagues so leave him on waivers until Jacksonville's offense starts to pick up.
News: Jacksonville's scoring on Sunday came mostly from their kicker, Josh Scobee. He connected on a 44-yard and 48-yard fields in the first half on Sunday's Week 2 loss to San Diego. The Jaguars wouldn't score a touchdown until there was less than a minute left in the game. He converted on his extra point try as well.
Analysis: Scobee now has three field goals this year that are greater than 40 yards. The way Jacksonville's offense played in Week 2, Scobee may be there most consistent form of points. With Philadelphia next up for Jacksonville, Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Scobee. He may prove valuable once bye weeks start coming around though.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made a 45-yard field goal and three extra points in a Week 1 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Scobee has never been a points machine in Fantasy play, but the Jaguars offense continues to improve and he could be a nice sleeper bye-week replacement option in deeper formats. You might want to avoid him in Week 2 at San Diego, as their defense is pretty good and it's a long trip out west.
News:Josh Scobee kicked two field goals and the Jaguars beat the Falcons, 13-9, Thursday night. Scobee hit a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 49-yarder in the third to seal the win. He went 9 for 9 on field goals in the preseason, hitting all five from 40 yards or longer.
Analysis: Scobee hasn't converted more than 19 field goals since the 2006 season, so it's nice to see him have a strong preseason. There are still a lot of unknown variables regarding the Jaguars offense, but if they end up being a field-goal team, then that will certainly benefit Scobee. He is a low-end Fantasy kicker to begin the season, but after a strong preseason, he is definitely a player to watch.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was 1 of 2 on field goals for 47 yards Sunday at Cleveland. He also made two extra points.
Analysis: Scobee is a low-end Fantasy kicker. He will enter 2010 as a No. 2 Fantasy option and should not be drafted in any leagues.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee did not attempt a field goal Sunday at New England. He only had one extra point.
Analysis: Scobee is a low-end Fantasy kicker in all leagues. Don't plan on using him in Week 17 at Cleveland despite a favorable matchup.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee scored seven points Week 15 against the Colts, hitting a 50-yard field goal and four extra points. He also missed a field goal.
Analysis: The Jaguars don't have an explosive offense, which leaves Scobee with inconsistent field goal opportunities. He's just a last resort for Fantasy owners in Week 16 at New England.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee was held to a 25-yard field goal and an extra point in a Week 14 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Like the Jaguars, Scobee is a little inconsistent and is barely worth using in the deepest of Fantasy leagues. Don't worry about him in Week 15 vs. Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had three field goals and two extra points Sunday against Houston. His long field goal was 51 yards.
Analysis: Scobee bounced back after some poor games recently. Coming into this game he had only made one field goal in each of the past four games, and he's missed three field goals in his past three games. Hopefully he can build off this game in a good matchup in Week 14 against Miami. Consider Scobee a low-end No. 1 Fantasy option against the Dolphins.
News: Jaguars PK Josh Scobee missed two field goals, including a 21-yarder, on Sunday in a Week 12 loss to the Niners. He did however hit a 32-yard field goal, the teams only points in a 20-3 loss.
Analysis: Scobee has only reached double digits in points once this season, back in Week 4 against Tennessee. In fact, he has scored seven points or less in 11 of his 12 games so far and has missed eight total kicks. He is not a recommended option in any format for Fantasy Week 13 against Houston. In Week 3 at Houston, Scobee had seven points with one field goal and four extra points.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee finished the Week 11 win over Buffalo with four points. Scobee was 1 of 1 on field goals as he hit from 29-yards out. He was just 1 of 1 on PATs.
Analysis: Scobee is an OK kicker, but just hasn't got consistent opportunities to kick this season. Only use him in super-deep leagues for Week 12 at San Francisco.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked a 21-yard field goal and an extra point in a Week 10 win at the Jets. He also missed a 49-yard try.
Analysis: Scobee is an OK kicker, but just hasn't got consistent opportunities to kick this season. Only use him in super-deep leagues for Week 11 vs. Buffalo.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee converted one of two field goals in Week 9 against Kansas City. He added three extra points and finished with six points.
Analysis: Scobee has had more than seven points just one time this season and has been a very low-end Fantasy kicker. He is not a recommended option for Week 10 at the Jets.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee, who kicked the game-winning field goal last time Jacksonville took the field in Week 6, didn't get a chance to play hero in Week 8 against the Titans. In fact, he didn't get to do much in a 30-13 loss. Scobee attempted no field goals and made just 1 of 2 extra points. He had his second attempt blocked in the third quarter.
Analysis: Scobee has a total of six points in his last three games and has been held to one or zero points in two of those outings. We aren't sure what to expect from Scobee on a weekly basis since Jacksonville is one of those team's hovering around .500. They are definitely unpredictable. They have a favorable matchup in Week 9 against the Chiefs, so consider Scobee a bye-week Fantasy replacement.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee hit the game-winning field goal on Sunday in the team's Week 6 win over the Rams. Scobee drilled a 36-yarder seven minutes into the overtime period, capping a 13-play drive. He atoned for a miss he had during regulation from 58 yards out.
Analysis: Scobee has only five points over the past two weeks as the team was shut out in Week 5 at Seattle. He is a solid kicker usually but the Jags have struggled to put up points at times this season. The Jags are on a bye in Week 7 then face a poor defense at Tennessee in Week 8.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee did not attempt a field goal or kick an extra point Week 5 at Seattle.
Analysis: Scobee is 8 for 10 kicking field goals so far this season but simply didn't get a chance to attempt one Week 5 as the Jaguars' offense was stymied by the Seahawks' defense. The Jaguars head for Week 6 and host the lowly Rams, so Scobee should make up for this zero. Think of him as a viable Fantasy option for that contest.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked field goals of 22, 50 and 33 yards along with four extra points in a Week 4 win over the Titans. He did miss a 55-yard attempt.
Analysis: The Jags have been scoring quite a bit lately, and with another decent matchup in Week 5 at Seattle, Scobee is worth a look as a bye-week replacement in deeper leagues.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee converted his lone field goal attempt Week 3 at Houston in a 31-24 win. The kick was good from 42 yards out. Scobee also converted all four of the extra points he attempted for a total of seven points.
Analysis: Scobee has missed two field goals this season but improved his season total to 4 for 6 in Week 3 with the 52-yarder. The Jags don't figure to put up too many points this season and Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for Week 4's game against the Titans.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee went 1 for 2 on Sunday of Week 2 against the Cardinals. Scobee hit a 30-yard field goal in the loss for the Jaguars and also went 2 of 2 on extra points for a total of 5 points on the afternoon.
Analysis: Scobee has already missed two field goals this season and is 3 for 5. The Jags did not score a touchdown Week 1 and his two extra points Sunday of Week 2 are his only on the year. Jacksonville's offense has not looked very good this season thus far and we think you should find a better option Week 3 as they head to Houston.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee booted field goals of 24 and 46 yards and saw a 63-yard effort fall short in a Week 1 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Scobee is a decent kicker, but plays for a team that often struggles on the offensive side of things. He remains an option in just deeper leagues heading into Week 2 vs. Arizona.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee has a solid history against the Indianapolis Colts, who his team plays in Week 1 at Indy. Scobee went 3 for 3 on field goals with a long of 51 yards the last time the two teams met at Indy on Sept. 21 of last year. He finished last season 4 for 4 on field goals and 5 for 5 on extra points against the Colts for a total of 17 points.
Analysis: Scobee is 8 for 12 in his last five games against the Colts overall from field goal range and adds 14 of 14 on extra points. That is an average of almost 8 points per game from him. That makes him a decent Fantasy option in Week 1 as the Jaguars should get him a few opportunities but until we see their offense shine, we'd consider him a lower-end option.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee had a very quiet Week 17 against the Ravens as he attempted no field goals and tallied one extra point during a 27-7 loss. It was the third time this season he failed to attempt a field goal.
Analysis: Scobee started the season very well with 10 field goals in four September games. He connected just nine times the remainder of the year. The Jacksonville offense really struggled in 2008 and that brought down Scobee's Fantasy value. The Jaguars could rebound in 2009, but until that happens, Scobee has minimal Fantasy value on Draft Day.
News: Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee nailed a 44-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night's game against the Colts. It was his only field of the game in the 31-24 loss. He did record three extra points for a total of six points on the night.
Analysis: Scobee has a total of five field goals over his last six weeks and hasn't recorded double figures in points since Week 4 against Houston -- and that game was an overtime game. Scobee is a low-end Fantasy option and should not be used in Week 17 at Baltimore.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee missed his only field goal try, a 51-yarder, in a Week 15 win over Green Bay. He did kick two PATs, however.
Analysis: Scobee is a low-end Fantasy option and should only be used if needed in Week 16 vs. Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had one field goal and one extra point Sunday at Chicago. He did not miss a kick, and his field goal was 42 yards.
Analysis: Scobee is a low-end Fantasy option and should only be used if needed in Week 15 against Green Bay.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee made one of two field-goal attempts -- a 29-yarder -- Week 13 at Houston. He also had two extra points. He now has a total of three field goals over his last four games.
Analysis: After a great start to the season with three double-digit efforts in his first four weeks, Scobee has reached only eight points only once since. He has turned into an emergency kicking option and should remain on waivers in most leagues for Week 14 at Chicago.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee missed field goals of 46 and 38 yards, but did make a 21-yard effort and an extra point in a Week 12 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: After a great start to the season with three double-digit efforts in his first four weeks, Scobee has only reached eight points once since. He has turned into only an emergency kicking option and should not be relied upon in Week 13 at Houston.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee went without a field goal for the first time in five games Week 11 against the Titans. He did kick two extra points, though.
Analysis: The Jaguars have an inconsistent offense, which can make Scobee's Fantasy performance erratic. He hasn't scored more than eight points in six straight games and is more of a No. 2 Fantasy option Week 12 against the Vikings.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked a 34-yard field goal and five extra points in a Week 10 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Scobee got off to a good start this season, but didn't have over seven points in his last four games before Sunday. The Jags will have their work cut out for themselves in Week 11 against the Titans, but Scobee remains a decent low-end option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked field goals of 52 and 26 yards and an extra point in a Week 9 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Scobee got off to a good start this season, but hasn't got over seven points in his last four games. The Jags offense just doesn't give him enough opportunities on a regular basis, but Scobee has a nice matchup in Week 10 at Detroit, so you might want to give him a shot in deeper leagues next weekend.
News: Jacksonville K Josh Scobee practiced in full Thursday with a broken right hand. His hand will not stop him from kicking in Week 9's game at Cincinnati.
Analysis: We like his Week 9 matchup at Cincinnati as the Jags have begun to post some modest point totals of late, and Scobee is a part of that. He remains a viable start against the Bengals.
News: Jaguars PK Josh Scobee also broke a bone in his right hand making a tackle against Cleveland. He won't need surgery, but will wear a cast for some time. "I definitely cried afterward, but only because I couldn't play golf for three months," Scobee said.
Analysis: If Scobee were a receiver, this would be a problem. But because he kicks, expect the hand injury to not become an issue. We like his Week 9 matchup at Cincinnati as the Jags have begun to post some modest point totals of late, and Scobee is a part of that.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee kicked one field goal and had another blocked during a Week 8 loss to the Browns. DL Shaun Rogers sliced between two linemen and blocked Scobee's 38-yard attempt with his left hand early in the fourth quarter. Scobee later hit from 53 yards out and made both of his extra points.
Analysis: Scobee has missed just two of 14 field goals attempts in 2008. He had a run of games from Sept. 14-28 when he had three field goals for three straight games. He has just two field goals in his last three contests. The well has run a bit dry, but Scobee does play on a team that moves the ball and he remains a low-end No. 1 Fantasy kicker heading into Week 9 against the Bengals.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee connected on a 48-yard field goal during Week 6's 24-17 win against the Broncos. He hit all three of his PATs for a 6-point outing.
Analysis: Scobee has just one field goal in his last two games after having nine from Week 2-4. The Jaguars have actually been scoring a few more touchdowns in recent weeks and that doesn't help Scobee in Fantasy. Still, as long as the Jaguars are moving the ball, Scobee remains a decent No. 1 Fantasy kicker. The Jaguars don't play again until Week 8 against the Browns.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee, coming off two game-winning field goals, didn't get a chance to attempt one Week 5 against the Steelers. He finished with only three extra points.
Analysis: Scobee hadn't gone without a field goal all season and had kicked three in three straight games. The Jaguars have an unreliable offense, though, so you have to expect unreliable numbers for Scobee. He remains a decent starting option Week 6 at Denver.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee converted all three field goals he attempted in Week 4 vs. Houston, including a 37-yard game-winner in overtime. He added three extra points and finished up with 12 points.
Analysis: Scobee has won each of Jacksonville's last two games with field goals and has scored at least 10 points in three straight games. The Jaguars have a ball control offense that tends to sputter out in field goal range often, making Scobee a great option in Fantasy. The Jags host the Steelers in Week 5 in what could turn out to be another field goal affair.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee converted three field goals and two extra points in Week 3 at Indianapolis, including a game-winning 51-yarder with four second left.
Analysis: Scobee got you big points if you are in a league that gives bonuses for long kicks. He got you good points even if your not in one of those leagues. Scobee converted on one of two field goal attempts in Week 1 at Tennessee and converted three field goals in Week 2 against Buffalo. In Week 4, view him as a worthy start in any league. The Jags host Houston.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee converted three field goals in Week 2 against Buffalo, including a 50-yard field goal. He also converted an extra point and finished with 10 points.
Analysis: Scobee got you big points if you are in a league that gives bonuses for long kicks. He got you good points even if your not in one of those leagues. Scobee converted on one of two field goal attempts in Week 1 at Tennessee and has at least been given multiple chances for field goals as the Jaguars offense continues to sputter. View him as a useful kicker for larger leagues in Week 3 at Indianapolis.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee converted on one of two field goal attempts in Week 1 at Tennessee. He made a 27-yard field goal and missed a 37-yarder.
Analysis: Scobee had a disappointing season in 2007 and missing a makeable field goal in Week 1 doesn't help matters much. Consider him an injury or bye week replacement kicker in Fantasy for now. The Jaguars host Buffalo in Week 2.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee missed eight games in 2007 after he injured his right (kicking) quadriceps in warmups before the season opener. He played the final eight games and made 12-of-13 field goals and 26-of-27 extra points.
Analysis: Scobee had a disappointing season in 2007, but he will look to rebound in 2008. Prior to this year, Scobee made at least 23 field goals every year, which would make him a No. 2 Fantasy option in all leagues if that continues. Don't plan on drafting Scobee, but he could be a good free agent pickup during the season.
News: With under a minute remaining and his team down by one, K Josh Scobee hit a 25-yard field goal to help the visiting Jaguars advance past the Steelers in the Wild Card round. He also had four extra points.
Analysis: Scobee also missed a field goal, and he typically isn't the most reliable kicker in Fantasy. However, with so few options available in playoff Fantasy formats, he should start in all leagues.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had no field goald and four extra points Sunday at Houston. He did not miss a kick.
Analysis: Scobee has played well since coming back from an injury early this season and should be used as a kicker in Fantasy playoff leagues.

Analysis: Scobee is no better than a low-end No. 1 Fantasy PK at Houston in Week 17.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee had one field goal and two extra points. He did not miss a field goal but did miss one extra point.
Analysis: Scobee is a solid kicker and is worth starting in Week 16 against the Raiders.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee converted three field goals and four extra points in Week 14 vs. Carolina.
Analysis: Scobee is a decent sleeper for the final weeks of the season because he plays on an offense that finds itself stuck in field goal range often. Consider him for Week 15 at Pittsburgh.
News: Jaguars PK Josh Scobee made 1-of-2 field goals and two extra points at the Colts in Week 13.
Analysis: The Jaguars offense isn't potent enough to carry Scobee into position to kick a lot of points. Look elsewhere for a kicker in Week 14. Jacksonville hosts the Panthers.
News:Josh Scobee tied WR Chad Johnson for the league lead in points in Week 12 when he kicked five field goals and three PATs for an 18-point haul in Jacksonville's 36-14 win over the Bills. Scobee's field goals were good from 46, 33, 22, 23 and 20 yards and he did not miss a kick.
Analysis: Scobee was a solid sleeper coming into Week 12 and could put up some nice numbers in Week 13 when he heads indoors to take on the Colts.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was back Sunday against San Diego and had one field goal and three extra points. He did not miss a kick.
Analysis: Scobee was active for the first time in more than two months Sunday, replacing John Carney against the San Diego Chargers. Carney was inactive. Scobee injured his right (kicking) quadriceps in warmups before the season opener and missed the next eight games. He had two setbacks during his rehabilitation, prompting the Jaguars to be cautious with his return. Consider him a No. 2 option in Week 12 against Buffalo.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was active for the first time in more than two months Sunday, replacing John Carney against the San Diego Chargers. Carney was inactive. Scobee injured his right (kicking) quadriceps in warmups before the season opener and missed the next eight games. He had two setbacks during his rehabilitation, prompting the Jaguars to be cautious with his return.
Analysis: Scobee is worth using as a low-end kicking option against the Chargers. Keep Carney reserved in all leagues.
News: Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said kicker Josh Scobee is nearing a return. Scobee injured his right leg in the season opener and hasn't played since. John Carney has kicked in his absence. "It's been longer than I wanted and I thought," Scobee said. "A couple of times when I came back to kick I re-aggravated it and set myself back a little bit. I've been kicking for a week and a half and haven't had any setbacks."
Analysis: Obviously, Carney would lose all Fantasy value if Scobee returns to his placekicking duties. Scobee would likely serve as a No. 2 K in Fantasy since the Jaguars don't have a particularly dynamic offense.
News: Jaguars QB David Garrard (ankle), K Josh Scobee (quadriceps), RB LaBrandon Toefield (coach's decision), WR Matt Jones (coach's decision), DB Aaron Glenn (coach's decision), LB Roy Manning (coach's decision) and DL Brent Hawkins (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 10 at Tennessee.
Analysis: None of the players on this list should be on your Fantasy rosters at the moment. They are not in a position to help your Fantasy squad.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadricep) is listed as doubtful for Week 10 at Tennessee. He went through limited practice reps all week. Scobee has missed the last seven games and has not played since Week 1.
Analysis: It looked as though Scobee might have returned in Week 10, but it appears as though the Jaguars will hold him out for the eighth straight game. When healthy, he is a viable Fantasy option.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadricep) went through limited practice reps Wednesday and Thursday as the team prepares for Week 10 at Tennessee. Scobee has missed the last seven games and has not played since Week 1.
Analysis: Don't look now, but Scobee might finally return in Week 10. This could very well be a game-time decision, so Fantasy owners should only start Scobee if it appears as though he will resume his kicking duties. When healthy, he is a viable Fantasy option.
News: The Jaguars listed QB David Garrard (ankle), K Josh Scobee (quadricep), LaBrandon Toefield (coach's decision), DB Brian Williams (hamstring), LB Justin Durant (coach's decision), DL Derek Landri (coach's decision) and TE Gregory Estandia (foot) as inactive for Week 9 at New Orleans.
Analysis: Garrard may be ready for Week 10 at Tennessee, but he should be reserved in all leagues until further notice. The rest of these players should be left on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadricep) is out for Week 9 at New Orleans. It will be the seventh straight game he will miss.
Analysis: The Jaguars are in no rush to insert Scobee back into the active lineup before he is 100 percent. How long that takes is anyone's guess at this point. When healthy, Scobee is a viable Fantasy option.
News: Jaguars QB David Garrard, K Josh Scobee, WR John Broussard, DB Brian Williams, DL Derek Landri and DL Tony McDaniel are all inactive for Week 8 at Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Garrard is inactive as expected and might miss a month with an ankle injury. Scobee continues to be bothered by a bum quad injury and won't return until absolutely necessary. Both players are viable Fantasy options when healthy. The remaining inactive players have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep these players reserved in Fantasy leagues for Week 8.

News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadriceps) is out for Week 7 vs. Indianapolis. It will be the fifth straight game he has missed.
Analysis: The Jaguars are in no rush to insert Scobee back into the active lineup before he is 100 percent. There is no telling how much longer he will be sidelined. When healthy, Scobee is a viable Fantasy option.
News: The Jaguars listed K Josh Scobee (quadricep), RB LaBrandon Toefield (coach's decision), DB Aaron Glenn (coach's decision), LB Pat Thomas (coach's decision), LB Kenneth Pettway (coach's decision) and DL Reggie Hayword (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 6 vs. Jacksonville.
Analysis: John Carney is kicking in the place of Scobee. As for the rest of these players, none should be anywhere near your active Fantasy lineup until further notice.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadriceps) is out for Week 6 vs. Houston. It will be the fourth straight game he has missed.
Analysis: The Jaguars are in no rush to insert Scobee back into the active lineup before he is 100 percent. There is no telling how much longer he will be sidelined. When healthy, Scobee is a viable Fantasy option.
News: Notable inactives for Week 5 in the Jaguars-Chiefs game include: Jaguars PK Josh Scobee, RB LaBrandon Toefield, CB Aaron Glenn, LB Justin Durant, C Brad Meester, DT Darek Landri, T Richard Collier and DE Kenny Pettway. For the Chiefs, CB Benny Sapp, CB Dimitri Patterson, G Herb Taylor, T Kyle Turley, WR Bobby Sippio, DT James Reed, LB Keyaron Fox and QB Tyler Thigpen (No. 3/emergency QB) are inactive.
Analysis: None of these players are considered reliable Fantasy options, so don't have any on your Fantasy roster.
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jaguars K Josh Scobee tried out the quadriceps on his injured kicking leg on Monday, but attempted only one kick before being shut down.
Analysis: With Scobee still ailing, John Carney will remain as the Jags' kicker. Neither are worth much consideration in most Fantasy formats.
News: Jaguars K Josh Scobee (right quadriceps) will miss his third straight game Week 5 against the Chiefs. The Jaguars were on a bye Week 4.
Analysis: The Jags said they might keep Scobee sidelined in Week 5 despite coming off a bye week because John Carney has done such a good job in his place. The Jags opted to take that route. Continue to track Scobee's progress before activating him in Fantasy leagues in the weeks to come. He is a viable Fantasy option when healthy.
News:The Sports Xchange reports since John Carney has made all five of his field-goal attempts and has done a good job of kicking off, the Jaguars may not be eager to rush Josh Scobee back and cut Carney. Scobee has been sidelined the last two games with a quad injury. The Jaguars are on a bye in Week 4. Coach Jack Del Rio ducked the question of what they'll do when Scobee is healthy. "I think what's most important is that we do the right thing with our players in terms of them coming back when they're able to come back," Del Rio said. "What we don't want to do is rush anyone back early and then have them re-injure what is ailing them."
Analysis: Scobee was intially supposed to miss 3-6 weeks because of the quad injury, so he would be right in the middle of his recover time when the Jaguars return to action Week 5 against the Chiefs. It sounds as though he might remain sidelined a tad bit longer, but anything can happen. Continue to track his progress before activating him in Fantasy leagues. He is a viable Fantasy option when healthy.
News: The Jaguars listed WR Matt Jones as their emergency QB in Week 3 at Denver. He is inactive and can only enter the game as a quarterback. The team also listed DL John Henderson (head), K Josh Scobee (quadriceps), RB LaBrandon Toefield (coach's decision), LB Clint Ingram (ankle) and LB Kenneth Pettway (coach's decision) as inactive.
Analysis: Aside from Jones and Scobee, the players on this list have minimal Fantasy appeal. Keep all of the players on this list away from your active Fantasy lineup until further notice.

News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee will miss at least three weeks with a strained quadriceps muscle. Coach Jack Del Rio also said Wednesday that Scobee could be sidelined as long as six weeks, countering the kicker's claim that his injury was a two-week setback at most. "I know Josh has made statements where he maybe feels that will be a little quicker timeframe, but that's what the doctors are indicating is the best way to proceed so this doesn't become an ongoing or a major issue," Del Rio said.
Analysis: Scobee will be replaced by John Carney while he is sidelined. Scobee should regain his job upon his return, but can be let go in Fantasy leagues in the meantime. Holding onto a kicker is a risky proposition.
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports that the Jaguars have signed PK John Carney, and that he will replace PK Josh Scobee, who will be sidelined for an undetermined amount of time with a leg injury. Carney's most infamous extra-point miss -- a late-game try after the Saints used several laterals to score a touchdown to pull them to within a point with a playoff berth on the line -- happened in Jacksonville. The Jaguars were still assessing how long Scobee would be sidelined, and Del Rio said it was possible he could end up on injured reserve. But Del Rio also was hopeful Scobee could return soon. Until then, Carney will handle field goals, extra points and kickoffs.
Analysis: Carney won't be a bad kicking choice for Fantasy owners, starting as soon as this week when the Jags host the Falcons and are expected to put up some points. Pick him up and start him if you're using the waiver wire to find kickers on a week-to-week basis. As for Scobee, owners are advised to drop him for now and find another kicker (we hear Carney is a good one) via free agency.
News: Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee has a strained right quadriceps muscle and probably won't play Sunday against Atlanta. Scobee said Monday tests showed a 7-centimeter long strain and no tearing - good news for the Jaguars. But Scobee also said the team planned to bring in another kicker this week, meaning he probably won't risk further injury against the Falcons. "It's obviously not a severe injury and a long-lasting one," Scobee said. "As far as knowing exactly when I'll be back, who knows. ... I hope not a few weeks. It better not be a few weeks. I'll be really upset if it's that long. I would love to be back by this week, but who knows? I can't give you any kind of answer because I don't even know."
Analysis: Scobee hurt his leg during warmups before the season opener against Tennessee. He was attempting a 48-yard field goal and hit the ground a foot behind the ball. If you count on Scobee in your Fantasy leagues, you might want to start making plans to go another way for Week 2. He toughed it out and played through the pain in the opener, but it sounds like he'll be sitting and watching against the Falcons.
