Giants rule out multiple players for Week 5

Snee is expected to be placed on IR after his hip injury hasn't responded to rest and rehab. 


Report: Chris Snee's career may be in jeopardy

(10/1/2013) Giants guard Chris Snee's status for Week 5 against the Eagles "is very much in doubt, and the rest of his career may be in doubt, too," a source told the New York Daily News. Snee has a labrum tear in his right hip and can barely move, the report said.

Snee started the first three games before missing Sunday's loss in Kansas City. He continues to mix rest and rehab treatments, hoping to avoid surgery if possible. James Brewer will continue to start in Snee's place, according to the report.


Giants try another combination on offensive line

(8/26/2013) With center David Baas (knee) and tackle David Diehl (thumb) still sidelined, the Giants continue to tinker with their offensive line. On Monday they trotted out Kevin Boothe at center in place of Jim Cordle, reports ESPN.com.

James Brewer moved to left guard, while rookie Justin Pugh remained at right tackle, the report said. Right guard Chris Snee and left tackle Will Beatty stayed put.

Coach Tom Coughlin said nothing is set in stone. "We’ll try different combinations," he said. "Nothing wrong with that, I hope."
