News: On Monday, the Seahawks terminated the contract of former first-round draft choice Marcus Tubbs. The former starting defensive tackle kept having setbacks following surgery a year ago on his right knee. Analysis: Tubbs has not played in the NFL since 2006. His best season came in 2005 when he had 27 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks, one recovered fumble, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections. It's safe to ignore Tubbs in all Fantasy formats.

News: The Seahawks placed DT Marcus Tubbs on the Physically Unable to Perform list at the start of training camp as he continues to rehab from knee surgery. Tubbs can come off the list at any time until the regular season starts, then he'll be forced to sit out for six weeks. From there, a three-week window opens for him to be activated. If he's not activated, then he'll be out for the rest of the season. Analysis: Tubbs doesn't post enough stats to warrant use to begin with. He's not worth owning in Fantasy play.

News: Seattle defensive tackle Marcus Tubbs, who missed parts of the past two seasons with separate knee injuries, could be back for the start of training camp. Tubbs has been running and doing agility drills this week, prompting coach Mike Holmgren's optimism. A month ago, Holmgren said he thought Tubbs might not be ready until the start of the regular season, reports the News Tribune. Analysis: Tubbs doesn't post enough stats to warrant use to begin with. He's not worth owning in Fantasy play.

Marcus Tubbs, DL SEA
News: The Seahawks placed Marcus Tubbs on injured reserve, meaning they have lost the hard-luck defensive tackle for the season. Tubbs left the field on the back of a motorized cart with a right knee injury during the Seahawks' 19-14 exhibition win over Oakland on Thursday. He had returned to practice this month for the first time since having microfracture surgery on his left knee last November. Tubbs, the Seahawks' first-round draft choice in 2004, was an important run-stopper along the defensive line. Analysis: Tubbs shouldn't be owned in any Fantasy IDP leagues at this time.

News: Seahawks DT Marcus Tubbs, who returned to practice this month for the first time since having microfracture surgery on his left knee last November, left the field on the back of a motorized cart with a sprained right knee in Thursday's preseason game against the Raiders. "It appeared to be rather serious," coach Mike Holmgren said. Analysis: Tubbs might be able to contribute for the Seahawks this season if this isn't too serious of an injury, but he is not worth a look in Fantasy IDP leagues at this time.

Marcus Tubbs, DL SEA
News: The Seattle Seahawks' No. 1 draft choice from 2004 returned to the field Monday for the first time since last November. That was when the run-stopping defensive tackle had microfracture surgery on his left knee, a still-debated procedure in which holes are drilled into bone to regenerate cartilage around the knee. "I haven't heard anybody in football getting it ... I don't know of it," a smiling Tubbs said after his morning practice, which came two weeks before the Seahawks expected him to play in an exhibition game. Analysis: The plan is still for Tubbs to practice some this week and next before playing Aug. 25 against Minnesota. Tubbs might be able to contribute for the Seahawks this season, but he is not worth a look in Fantasy IDP leagues at this time.

In his three-season career with Seattle, he has 60 tackles, 38 of them solo, with seven sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Analysis: It is safe to cut Tubbs in all IDP leagues.
