News: Detroit DL Corey Williams (shoulder) was active for the Week 13 game against the Chicago Bears. Williams has been on the injury report over the last few weeks with a shoulder injury but has not missed any time.
Analysis: Williams has battled a few injuries the last few weeks, but he has yet to miss a game. Williams has not recorded a sack since Week 1 of the season and only has low-end value in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Lions DL Corey Williams (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 12 vs. New England. He returned to limited practice reps Wednesday after sitting out Monday and Tuesday.
Analysis: Williams has battled a few injuries the last few weeks, but he has yet to miss a game. That streak could end in Week 12. Williams has just one tackle in his last two games and is starting to lose some Fantasy appeal. He is probably overowned at 7 percent of Fantasy leagues since he hasn't had a sack since Week 1.
News: Lions DL Corey Williams (shoulder) was unable to practice on Monday in preparation for Week 12 against the Patriots.
Analysis: Williams gets a decent number of tackles for a defensive lineman, but he has only one sack on the season. He's just a low-end option in Fantasy IDP leagues, when healthy.
News: Lions DL Corey Williams, who was limited in practice earlier in the week by a groin injury, was active for Week 10 at Buffalo.
Analysis: Williams gets a decent number of tackles for a defensive lineman, but he has only one sack on the season. He's just a low-end option in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Lions DL Corey Williams (groin) is listed as probable for Week 10 at Buffalo despite limited practice reps all week. He has yet to miss a game this season.
Analysis: Williams is on pace to match his 50-tackle season from 2008. But he hasn't done much else. He has just one sack and one interception. The Lions other defensive tackle -- Ndamukong Suh -- pretty much steals the spotlight on the D-line. Williams is a low-end Fantasy DL when healthy.
News: Lions DL Corey Williams recorded three tackles in Week 6 at the Giants. He went without a sack, however, for a fifth straight contest.
Analysis: Williams isn't worth owning in most IDP leagues because he a run-stuffer who doesn't accumulate many stats. Outside of last week's seven-tackle performance with a rare pass defensed, he hasn't done much of anything.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Lions DT Corey Williams is adjusting back from the 3-4 scheme he played in Cleveland to the 4-3 he once played in Green Bay -- the one he prefers because it allows him to attack the quarterback. He said he feels "way ahead" of where he thought he would be at this point and already is developing chemistry with defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. "We work out every morning together," Williams said. "We're getting to know each other a lot better. He's a great guy. I think once we just keep coming together, we're going to be a force."
Analysis: The Lions' D-line might be fun to watch this season. Williams himself is a decent run-stopper but not a huge stat producer. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Detroit Lions are beefing up their defensive line. One of the worst teams in the NFL acquired defensive tackle Corey Williams from the Browns in a move that also involved a pair of late-round draft picks. They also agreed to a four-year deal with defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. The deal reportedly is $26 million with $10 million due in the first year for the 31-year-old defensive end.
Analysis: Williams isn't worth owning in Fantasy play because he a run-stuffer who doesn't accumulate many stats. But Vanden Bosch has a shot at a decent sack total with some tackles so long as he can stay healthy. Consider him a No. 3 Fantasy DL headed into 2010.
News: In the Browns' Week 15 win at the Chiefs, notable defensive players included LB Matt Roth (four total tackles, sack), DL Corey Williams (three solo tackles, forced fumble) and DB Eric Wright (eight total tackles).
Analysis: Only Roth and Wright deserve some attention in IDP league play, especially against the Raiders in Week 16.
News: The Browns defense managed to sack QB Ben Roethlisberger eight times in a 13-6 win over the Steelers on Thursday. Marcus Benard and Corey Williams led the way for the Browns, each recording two sacks. Brian Schaefering accounted for 1 1/2 sacks. David Bowens and Hank Poteat each had one sack while Kaluka Maiava had half a sack.
Analysis: Bowens is the only one of these players that has any Fantasy relevance in IDP Formats to speak of. He is a middle-of-the-road option with 61 tackles and five sacks on the season. The rest of these players do not need to be owned in any IDP format. The Browns are at Kansas City in Week 15.

News:Jason Trusnik, Kenyon Coleman, Corey Williams and Kamerion Wimbley all recorded a sack in the team's Week 8 game against the Bears. Trusnik also led the team in tackles with eight.
Analysis: Of these players, Wimbley is the only one with any Fantasy value and he is just a low-end option in IDP formats. These other three players can continue to be ignored in all formats.
News: Browns LB Andra Davis (seven tackles), DL Corey Williams (six tackles), LB D'Qwell Jackson (five tackles), LB Willie McGinest (five tackles), DL Ahtyba Rubin (five tackles), DL Shaun Rogers (five tackles) and DB Sean Jones (five tackles) all helped out in a Week 16 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Jackson is a top-five Fantasy LB in IDP formats, while Rogers is a solid starting DL and Jones has some low-end value. Those three are the only guys in this list worth starting in Week 17 at Pittsburgh.
News: Browns defenders S Mike Adams (hamstring), S Sean Jones (knee), LB Shantee Orr (foot), DT Shaun Smith (hand) and DE Corey Williams (shoulder) are all questionable for Week 9 vs. Baltimore.
Analysis: Of these players, only Jones registers on the Fantasy radar as a decent No. 3 Fantasy DB. The rest of these Clevelanders shouldn't be counted on for much Fantasy help whether they're healthy or not.
News: The Browns acquired Green Bay DL Corey Williams in a surprise trade Friday morning, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Williams, 27, supposedly was taken off the free-agent market when the Packers gave him the franchise tag of $6.3 million. But they shied from investing long term in the fifth-year player and actively shopped him late in the week. The deal requires the Browns to sign Williams to a multiyear contract. The Browns also had to surrender their second-round draft pick to Green Bay. That would temporarily leave the Browns without picks in the first two rounds of the draft. They traded their No. 1 last year to Dallas for quarterback Brady Quinn.
Analysis: Williams played in all 16 games in 2007, including nine starts. He set career highs with 51 tackles and 32 solo stops and tied his career high with seven sacks. Even with those totals, he did not rank high in IDP leagues that count tackles. He's not expected to be anything better than a reserve Fantasy DL in 2008.
News: The Green Bay Packers designated defensive tackle Corey Williams as their franchise player Wednesday, preventing him from becoming an unrestricted free agent. As the Packers' franchise player, Williams receives a one-year contract tender offer worth the average of the league's top five defensive tackles in 2007: $6.363 million. Williams still is able to sign an offer sheet with another team, but the Packers have the right to match the offer or receive draft picks as compensation from his new team. "Corey is a good young football player and has been a consistent performer for our team," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement.

News: Packers LB Nick Barnett (nine tackles), LB A.J. Hawk (nine tackles), DB Atari Bigby (eight tackles), LB Brady Poppinga (five tackles), DL Aaron Kampman (five tackles) and DL Corey Williams (four tackles, two sacks) all helped out in Green Bay's 31-17 win over the Panthers in Week 11.
Analysis: Barnett and Kampman are solid No. 1's at their respective positions in IDP leagues, while Hawk, Woodson and Bigby also have value as starters. Start them, but not Williams, Poppinga, in Week 12 when Green Bay visits Detroit on Thanksgiving afternoon.
News: Packers DL Corey Williams had six tackles and two sacks Sunday at Kansas City.
Analysis: Williams is a low-end DL in IDP leagues but should not be used in Week 10 against Minnesota.
News: The Packers inactives for Week 6 against the Eagles include DB Will Blackmon, RB Brandon Jackson, LB Desmond Bishop, DL Colin Cole, DL Daniel Muir and DL Corey Williams.
Analysis: Keep Jackson reserved for Week 6 against the Redskins and continue to monitor his status for Week 8 at Denver. The Packers are off in Week 7. All the other players have minimal Fantasy value and should be kept reserved.
News: Williams (back) was able to play in Week 5 against the Bears, but he did not record any defensive statistics.
Analysis: Williams is not a recommended option in IDP Fantasy leagues at this time. The Packers host the Redskins in Week 6.
News: Packers DL Corey Williams had a sack and an interception in Week 2 at the N.Y. Giants.
Analysis: Despite the nice statistical performance, Williams should not be added in most IDP leagues. Eli Manning literally threw him the ball on the interception and he only had one other tackle after the sack.
News: The Packers DST scored two touchdowns against the Bears when DB Nick Collins and DB Patrick Dendy returned a pair of interceptions. The Packers had five interceptions, two sacks and recovered a fumble. Collins finished with six tackles and two interceptions. Dendy finished with two tackles. DB Charles Woodson had five tackles and an interception. LB A.J. Hawk had four tackles and an interception. DL Aaron Kampman had six tackles. DL Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila had three tackles and a sack. DL Corey Williams had a sack. DL Ryan Pickett had one tackle and recovered a fumble.
Analysis: The Packers DST improved dramatically as the season came to a close. Consider them a No. 2 option in 2007 and a decent sleeper heading into next year.
News: Notable Packers defenders from Week 9 include: DE Aaron Kampman (nine tackles, sack), DT Corey Williams (four tackles, three sacks), LB Nick Barnett (five total tackles) and DL Ryan Pickett (seven total tackles).
Analysis: Kampman, Pickett and Barnett are reliable Fantasy defenders, but Williams is not. The Packers play at Minnesota in Week 10.
News: The Packers will need time and further testing to determine how serious the injuries are to three players. RB Brandon Miree hyperextended his left elbow, TE David Martin received an X-ray for a hit on his jaw, and RB Vernand Morency did something to his lower back that McCarthy considered "a concern." McCarthy wasn't sure right after the game if Martin might have suffered a broken jaw. Miree was hurt on a tackle by Arizona linebacker Gerald Hayes. Also, DB Charles Woodson left with a left knee injury in the first quarter but returned to play, as did DL Corey Williams, who left in the second quarter with a right knee injury but returned. WR Donald Driver hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter but it isn't considered serious. DB Nick Collins left for some time with cramps.
Analysis: Driver's injury doesn't appear serious, so consider him a safe start for Week 9 against Buffalo. Keep an eye on Morency before putting him in your lineup, although don't expect another 100-yard rushing day as long as Ahman Green remains healthy. As for the other injured players, continue to monitor their status throughout the week.
News: Packers LB Abdul Hodge (knee) and DL Cullen Jenkins (ankle) are out, while DL Corey Williams (knee) and LB Ben Taylor (hamstring) are listed as probable for Week 8 vs. Arizona.
Analysis: None of these players will help Fantasy owners anytime soon. Keep them away from your active Fantasy lineup.
News: The Green Bay Packers were able to walk out of Detroit with a 31-24 win in Week 3, but their defense took a beating giving up 424 yards. They did sack QB Jon Kitna three times, force one fumble and one interception. LB Nick Barnett led all tacklers with nine. Rookie LB A.J. Hawk had eight tackles and a sack. DL Corey Williams had three tackles and two sacks. While Marquand Manuel had seven tackles and an interception.
Analysis: The Packers defense has yet to hold an opponent under 350 total yards and remain a poor start in any league. Week 4 they travel to Philadelphia and there is no way you should want to play their DST against the Eagles, who have been on an offensive tear this season.
