Jaguars re-sign LS Cain


(2/24/2011) The Jags have solved one of their potential free agent problems as they have signed LS Jeremy Cain to a contract. He was scheduled to be an UFA.

Cain headed to Jacksonville


(5:25 pm ET) The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded long-snapper Jeremy Cain off waivers from the Washington Redskins. Cain, originally signed as an undrafted rookie linebacker by Chicago in 2004, has played in 17 games with the Bears and Tennessee Titans. In Jacksonville, he will compete with veteran Joe Zelenka for the long-snapper job in training camp. Zelenka has been the team's long-snapper the last eight seasons, playing in a team-record 128 consecutive games. Cain was a two-time All-America selection at linebacker at Massachusetts, where he ranked fifth on the school's career list with 363 tackles.

Williams among Titans cuts


(8/30/2008) The Tennessean reports the Titans have released WR Roydell Williams as part of their cuts to get down to 53 men on their roster. Also released were S Calvin Lowry, DT Antonio Johnson, WR Biren Ealy, DE Sean Conover, TE Jamie Petrowski, FB Casey Cramer, DE Eric Taylor and FB Jeremy Cain.

Bears part ways with 11 players


(9/1/2006) To help cut their roster down to 53 players, the Bears put the following players on waivers: WR Craig Bragg, CB Dion Byrum, DT Delbert Cowsette, CB Abraham Elimimian, RB Andre Hall, S Jason Harmon, CB Carlos Hendricks, OG Travis Leffew and WR Mark Philmore. The Bears also waived/injured LB Jeremy Cain and released veteran OT Steve Edwards.
