News: Minnesota DB Benny Sapp posted a season-high six tackles -- all solo stops -- during the Vikings' 35-32 loss to Denver in Week 13. Sapp also finished tied for the team lead as one of his tackles went for a loss. Sapp's previous season high was five tackles in Week 1.
Analysis: Sapp turned in his finest performance during his three games since rejoining the Vikings in mid-November with the quality tackle total. He still hasn't picked off a pass this season and will continue to serve as a marginal option in Fantasy IDP formats for the rest of the year.
News: Vikings CB Antoine Winfield, who underwent surgery on his fractured clavicle, was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday. The Vikings signed former Dolphins CB Benny Sapp to replace Winfield on the 53-man roster. Sapp was with the Vikings in 2010.
Analysis: Sapp knows the Vikings' system and will provide much-needed depth. But until he becomes a factor in the stat column, then leave him on Fantasy waivers.
News: DB Benny Sapp was released by the Dolphins on Tuesday, according to his agent.
Analysis: This move comes after Sapp was picked on all night in Week 1 against the Patriots. It appears the Dolphins can find better use for Sapp's roster spot, so they let him go. Sapp might sign on with another team, but he has never been a great stat producer and can be left on waivers in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Dolphins DB Benny Sapp was able to intercept QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Week 15 loss to the Bills. He attempted to lateral the ball to a teammate, but the ball ended up out of bounds. Sapp added three solo tackles, including one for a loss.
Analysis: Sapp has solidified his status as the teams nickel-back after notching his second pick of the season. Still, he does not make enough plays to warrant anything more than marginal Fantasy value.
News: Dolphins DB Benny Sapp recorded two solo tackles and one interception in Week 11 against the Bears. It was his first interception since 2008. Sapp had two pass defenses in the game.
Analysis: Sapp has to fight for his playing time with the likes of Sean Smith, Vontae Davis and now Al Harris. He never posts enough stats, however, to be a big factor in Fantasy. He has marginal Fantasy appeal.
News: Dolphins DB Benny Sapp led his team with 10 tackles, one for loss, in a Week 8 road win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Sapp saw a little more action than usual on Sunday with the Bengals using so many three-WR sets, and he clearly made the most of his opportunity. Unfortunately he's not likely to have many games like this, so continue to ignore him in Fantasy play for Week 9 at Baltimore.
News: The Vikings have acquired WR Greg Camarillo in exchange for CB Benny Sapp. Sapp is expected to be a reserve corner for the Dolphins.
Analysis: Sapp is unlikely to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off rosters.
News: Vikings CB Benny Sapp was not limited in practice Saturday despite missing the last seven days due to dehydration. Sapp took reps with the second- and third-team defense during 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 drills. He will have to work his way back up the depth chart after impressive showings by fellow CBs Chris Cook and Asher Allen.
Analysis: Sapp started seven games for the Vikings last season, recording 44 tackles. As a backup corner with limited ball skills (four career interceptions), he has little if any Fantasy value in IDP leagues.
News: The Minnesota Vikings and cornerback Benny Sapp have agreed to terms on a new contract. Sapp started a total of seven games last season while filling in for injured starter Antoine Winfield, totaling 25 tackles, two passes defensed and two forced fumbles during a particularly strong six-game stretch. He finished the regular season with 55 tackles, the most in his NFL seasons.
Analysis: Sapp served the rest of the season as the nickel back, and his presence this year will be important since Winfield and fellow starter Cedric Griffin are coming off injuries. We don't expect him to be a relevant stat producer while filling in for Griffin in the first half of the season.
News: Better news for the Vikings on Friday: The team saw starting defensive linemen Ray Edwards and Kevin Williams return to practice. They're listed as questionable with knee injuries. Defensive tackle Pat Williams (elbow/foot) and cornerback Benny Sapp (ankle/back) are also questionable.
Analysis: The only legit Fantasy consideration from this bunch that owners should be worried about is Edwards, who has a knee sprain and surely isn't close to 100 percent. We suggest passing on him in Playoff Challenge and other Fantasy formats for this game. Everyone else is a low-end IDP choice at best.
News: Notable Vikings defenders from Week 11 vs. Seattle include: LB E.J. Henderson (four solo tackles, sack), DB Husain Abdullah (three total tackles, sack), CB Asher Allen (solo tackle, sack), DB Benny Sapp (three total tackles, forced fumble) and DB Eric Frampton (two solo tackles, forced fumble).
Analysis: The only usable IDP option of the bunch is Henderson, who typically contributes a good amount of tackles. The Vikings will host the Bears in Week 12.
News: The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed cornerback Benny Sapp to a one-year contract. Sapp came over last offseason from the Kansas City Chiefs, earning a reputation as an aggressive, risk-taking player. He spent most of his time at nickel back after Charles Gordon went down with an ankle injury against Green Bay in November.
Analysis: Sapp is a sixth-year player out of Iowa. This year, he had a career-high two interceptions and finished with 22 tackles. He's not productive enough for Fantasy use. Forget about him.
News: Vikings DB Darren Sharper, DB Benny Sapp and LB Ben Leber all had interceptions Sunday against Chicago. Sharper added three tackles, Leber added six tackles and Sapp added four tackles.
Analysis: Look for the Vikings to coninue to play well in Week 14 at Detroit, and all their defenders are worth starting against the Lions.
News: Vikings DB Benny Sapp made his first interception of the season in a Week 12 win at Jacksonville. Sapp also made two tackles.
Analysis: Sapp is just a reserve DB with the Vikings and has no Fantasy value heading into Week 13 vs. Chicago.
News: The Vikings have listed the following players as inactive for Week 7 against the Bears in Chicago: QB John David Booty, DB Madieu Williams, DB Benny Sapp, LB David Herron, DL Otis Grigsby, RB Jeff Dugan and DL Letroy Guion.
Analysis: Williams is a key defensive player for the Vikings and a viable Fantasy DB when active. Most of the other players are reserves and play a marginial role. They have little to no Fantasy value and should be kept reserved Week 7.
News: Vikings QB John David Booty, WR Sidney Rice, DB Madieu Williams, DB Benny Sapp, RB Thomas Tapeh and DL Letroy Guion have all been ruled inactive for Week 5 at New Orleans.
Analysis: Williams is a key defensive player for the Vikings and a viable Fantasy DB when active. Most of the other players are reserves and play a marginial role. They have little to no Fantasy value and should be kept reserved Week 5.
News: The Vikings announced that CB Benny Sapp has signed. He has one interception in four seasons with the Chiefs.
Analysis: Sapp likely won't start and isn't expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Ignore him for now.
News: Chiefs LB Donnie Edwards (six tackles), DL Jared Allen (five tackles), DB Patrick Surtain (four tackles) and DB Benny Sapp (four tackles) led the way defensively for Kansas City in their 41-7 loss to the Broncos in Week 14.
Analysis: Edwards is a high-end No. 3 Fantasy LB in IDP formats, while Allen is a solid No. 1 DL. Those are the only two in this group worth starting in Week 15 against the Titans.
News: Notable inactives for Week 5 in the Jaguars-Chiefs game include: Jaguars PK Josh Scobee, RB LaBrandon Toefield, CB Aaron Glenn, LB Justin Durant, C Brad Meester, DT Darek Landri, T Richard Collier and DE Kenny Pettway. For the Chiefs, CB Benny Sapp, CB Dimitri Patterson, G Herb Taylor, T Kyle Turley, WR Bobby Sippio, DT James Reed, LB Keyaron Fox and QB Tyler Thigpen (No. 3/emergency QB) are inactive.
Analysis: None of these players are considered reliable Fantasy options, so don't have any on your Fantasy roster.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (ankle) is out for Week 5 vs. Jacksonville. Sapp took part in limited practice reps Thursday, but did not practice Wednesday or Friday. He has 10 tackles through three games, but will miss his second straight game due to injury.
Analysis: Sapp is nothing more than a reserve defensive back for the Chiefs and doesn't rack up enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: Chiefs WR Eddie Kennison, QB Tyler Thigpen (3rd QB), DB Benny Sapp, RB Rashad Barksdale, LB Johnny Baldwin, DL James Reed and LB Keyaron Fox are all inactive for Week 4 at San Diego.
Analysis: Kennison will likely slide back into the starting lineup once healthy, which might come Week 5 since he did practice some leading up to Sunday. He is the only inactive Chiefs player worth using in Fantasy leagues when active. Make sure to keep these players reserved Week 4.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (ankle) is out for Week 4 at San Diego. Sapp has not practiced all week. He has 10 tackles through three games.
Analysis: Sapp is nothing more than a reserve defensive back for the Chiefs and doesn't rack up enough stats to warrant use in Fantasy IDP leagues.
News: According to The Sports Xchange, CB Benny Sapp, the team's top corner reserve and nickel back, rolled an ankle and will miss the Week 4 game at San Diego. The Chiefs will use either Tyron Brackenridge or Dimitri Patterson as their nickel.
Analysis: As reserve DBs who only see the field in passing situations, none of these players have any Fantasy value.
News: The Chiefs have tendered restricted free agents LB Keyaron Fox, WR Samie Parker, OT Kevin Sampson, DB Benny Sapp, LB Rich Scanlon and PK Lawrence Tynes. If any of them sign an offer sheet with another team, the Chiefs have the right of first refusal. If they did not match the offer sheet, they would receive as compensation a third-round pick for Fox, a fourth for Parker and a seventh for Sampson. Scanlon and Tynes carry no compensation.
Analysis: Of all these players, it's Tynes who could switch teams if another club comes calling -- and one might since there's no compensation to give. Everyone else helps provide depth but doesn't accrue enough statistics to warrant use in Fantasy Football.
News: The Chiefs signed defensive back Michael Bragg from the practice squad Friday, a day before their AFC playoff game at Indianapolis. Bragg, a second-year player out of Texas A&M-Kingsville, signed a three-year contract. Terms were not disclosed. He spent four weeks on Kansas City's 53-man roster midway through the season, before being released and signed to the practice squad. Bragg will likely replace reserve cornerback Benny Sapp, who did not practice on Thursday because of a sore hamstring.
Analysis: Neither player should be considered for Fantasy use.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Wild Card game at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Sapp will not be someone to bother with in Fantasy leagues next season.
News: The Chiefs listed QB Trent Green, DB Benny Sapp, RB Derrick Ross and WR Jeff Webb as inactive for Week 9 vs. St. Louis.
Analysis: None of these players should be in your active Fantasy lineup for Week 9.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (knee) and LB Rich Scanlon (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 9 at St. Louis.
Analysis: Neither of these players have much Fantasy value at this time. It is safe to ignore them.
News: Notable inactives for Week 8's Seahawks-Chiefs game include: QB Gibran Hamdan (No. 3 QB), QB Matt Hasselbeck, RB Shaun Alexander, LB D.D. Lewis, WR Bobby Engram and DT Marcus Tubbs. For the Chiefs, QB Casey Printers (No. 3 QB), QB Trent Green, CB Benny Sapp, RB Derrick Ross and LB Rich Scanlon are inactive. QB Damon Huard is active and will start
Analysis: Hasselbeck, Alexander and Green should be reserved in all leagues (Engram in deeper leagues). The rest are not reliable Fantasy options.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (knee) and LB Rich Scanlon (knee) are listed as questionable for Week 8 vs. Seattle.
Analysis: Neither player is worth using for Fantasy purposes.
News: Notable Week 7 inactives for the Chiefs include: QB Trent Green, CB Benny Sapp, RB Derrick Ross, FB Greg Hanoian and LB Rich Scanlon. For San Diego, QB Charlie Whitehurst (emergency QB), CB Cletis Gordon, S Bhawoh Jue, FB Andrew Pinnock, WR Greg Camarillo, TE Ryan Krause, LB Nick Speegle and DE Igor Olshansky.
Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 7.
News: Chiefs DB Benny Sapp (knee), LB Rich Scanlon (knee) are out, while RB Michael Bennett (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 7 vs. San Diego.
Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 7.
News: Notable Week 6 inactives for the Chiefs include: CB Benny Sapp, RB Michael Bennett, LB Rich Scanlon, WR/KR Dante Hall and QB Trent Green. For the Steelers, inactives include WR Willie Reid, RB Duce Staley, CB Jovon Johnson, LB Joey Porter and LB James Harrison.
Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 6.

Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 6.
News: The Kansas City Chiefs have declared CB Benny Sapp, DL Lional Dalton, RB Michael Bennett, LB Rich Scanlon and QB Trent Green inactive for Week 5.
Analysis: Keep these players reserved for Fantasy purposes in Week 5.
News: DB Benny Sapp is out 4-6 weeks with a knee injury, meaning the Chiefs may have to use safety Jarrad Page in the slot when Kansas City goes to a dime package. Lenny Walls is the Chiefs third corner, but Sapp is the only other cornerback listed on Kansas City's depth chart. Page, who has played extensively as a substitute for S Sammy Knight, spent some training camp time working in the slot.
Analysis: Keep Sapp off your roster while he rehabs, but none of these players have much Fantasy value in IDP leagues.
News: Chiefs RB Michael Bennett (hamstring) and CB Benny Sapp (knee) are out for Week 5 at Arizona.
Analysis: These players have no Fantasy value heading into Week 5.
News: Chiefs CB Benny Sapp signed his tender to remain with the team. He was an exclusive-rights free agent.
