News: Kansas City WR Terrance Copper had three catches for 61 yards Saturday against Oakland in Week 16. He had three targets in the game.
Analysis: Copper has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. Ignore him in all formats in Week 17 at Denver.
News: Chiefs receiver Terrance Copper caught two passes early in the Week 15 win over the Packers. Copper's two catches went for 20 yards. He did not make another catch the rest of the game and was only targeted three times by QB Kyle Orton.
Analysis: Copper caught the first two passes from Orton in the game for 20 yards and those two Fantasy points doubled his entire production for the season. Needless to say, Copper is not a recommended Fantasy option heading into Week 16 against Oakland.
News: Kansas City WR Terrance Copper had two catches for 13 yards Sunday against Denver in Week 14. He had three targets.
Analysis: Copper is a low-end Fantasy WR in the majority of leagues. Don't plan on using him in Week 14 at San Diego. Copper did not play in the Week 1 matchup with the Chargers.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper did not have his finest performance in Week 12 against the Seahawks. He was targeted for two passes from QB Matt Cassel, catching one for 6 yards. Copper also returned a kickoff for 17 yards in the 42-24 win.
Analysis: Copper has just two catches for 11 yards in his last two outings but will face off against the Broncos in Week 13. The last time he played Denver, the 28-year-old posted 55 yards on five receptions. But due to his inconsistent stats, leave Copper on the waiver wire for next week's matchup.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper had his most productive game of the season in Week 10 against the Broncos. Copper was targeted eight times in the 49-29 loss and finished with a season-high five receptions for 55 yards in the rout. He averaged 11 yards per reception and had a long of 20 yards in the defeat.
Analysis: Copper had his best game of the season on Sunday, but the Chiefs were pretty much forced to throw the ball the entire second half. He had just six receptions for 57 yards on the season prior to Week 10 and does not stat consistently enough to be worth using in most Fantasy leagues. Continue to ignore the 28-year-old in all formats heading into Week 11 against the Cardinals.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper had his most productive game of the season in Week 9 against the Raiders. He was targeted for two passes from QB Matt Cassel, catching both of them for 26 yards in the 23-20 overtime loss.
Analysis: Copper entered Week 9 with just four catches on the year for 31 yards. He almost matched that production in one game but he is not a viable option in most leagues going forward. Continue to ignore the 28-year-old in all formats heading into Week 10 against the Broncos.
News: Kansas City WR Terrance Copper had one catch for 16 yards Sunday against Jacksonville. He had two targets in the game.
Analysis: Copper is a reserve WR for the Chiefs and has minimal Fantasy value. He got increased playing time with Chris Chambers out. Ignore Copper in all leagues in Week 8 against Buffalo.
News:Terrance Copper re-signed with the Chiefs earlier this offseason. He spent 2009 with the club but had just four catches for 68 yards.
Analysis: Copper is buried on the Chiefs' depth chart and is not expected to do much. He should be ignored in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: Kansas City WR Terrance Copper had two receptions and gained 57 yards on Sunday in a Week 17 win at Denver.
Analysis: Copper fails to record a stat most weeks, so he has limited to no Fantasy value to begin with. That will likely carry over into the 2010 season.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper, WR Quinten Lawrence, RB Javarris Williams and QB Brodie Croyle all dressed for Kansas City's Week 16 loss to the Bengals but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these players warrant Fantasy use going forward. The Chiefs play at the Broncos in Week 17.
News: Notable Chiefs who were active and dressed but did not post an offensive statistic in Week 15 include backup QB Brodie Croyle, RB Javarris Williams, WR Terrance Copper and TE Jake O'Connell.
Analysis: None of these players warrant Fantasy use going forward. The Chiefs play at the Bengals in Week 16.
News: Kansas City WR Terrence Copper played in the Week 14 loss to the Bills but did not pick up any stats in the game. Backup QB Brodie Croyle and RB Javarris Williams did not play in the game.
Analysis: Croyle could regain low-end Fantasy value in Week 15 against Cleveland if the team names him the starter after Matt Cassel struggled again in Week 14. Otherwise, he should remain on waivers like Copper and Williams.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper and TE Sean Ryan did not record a stat in a Week 13 loss to Denver.
Analysis: Neither of these two has any Fantasy value heading into Week 14 vs. Buffalo.
News:Terrance Copper, Quinten Lawrence, Mark Bradley and Brad Cottem all failed to get a stat in the Chiefs' Week 12 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: None of these players are relevant in Fantasy and can continue to be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News:Brad Cottam, Brody Croyle, Terrance Cooper and Mike Cox all failed to record a stat on Sunday in a Week 10 win over the Raiders.q
Analysis: None of these players are relevant in Fantasy and can continue to be ignored in all formats.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper did not have an offensive statistic in Week 9 at Jacksonville. He was not thrown to once in the game.
Analysis: Copper has not been a factor in the Chiefs offense this season. Until that changes, he is a player that should be left on waivers in all leagues.
News: Chiefs WR Terrence Copper caught one pass for 3 yards in Week 7 against San Diego. He was thrown to just once in the game.
Analysis: Copper has not been a factor in the Chiefs offense this season. Until that changes, he is a player that should be left on waivers in all leagues.
News: Kansas City WR Terrance Copper was among several players who didn't stat for the Chiefs in their Week 6 win at Washington. The other players are as follows: WR Bobby Engram, backup QB Brodie Croyle and RB Dantrell Savage.
Analysis: None of these guys have any Fantasy value heading into Week 7 against San Diego. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Chiefs backup QB Brodie Croyle, TE Brad Cottam, WR Terrance Copper and RB Mike Cox all dressed for a Week 5 loss to the Cowboys but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: None of these guys have any Fantasy value heading into Week 6 at the Redskins. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle, TE Leonard Pope and WR Terrence Copper were the only three Chiefs players not to record an offensive statistic in Week 4 against the Giants.
Analysis: None of the players on this list figure to have much Fantasy appeal in the near future. Until their role changes, they should be left on the waiver wire in all leagues.
News: Chiefs WR Terrance Copper caught one eight-yard pass in a Week 3 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Copper is on his third team in as many seasons and has no Fantasy value at this time. Ignore him in Week 4 vs. the Giants.
News: The Chiefs inactives for Sunday's game against Oakland include QB Matt Gutierrez, TE Brad Cottam, WR Terrance Copper, RB Jamaal Charles, LB Pierre Walters and CB Ricardo Colclough. The third QB is Tyler Thigpen.
Analysis: Charles being inactive is a surprise since he wasn't listed on the injury report. Keep an eye on what's wrong with Charles and see what's wrong heading into Week 3 at Philadelphia. Keep Copper, Cottam and Thigpen reserved. Brodie Croyle will be the No. 2 QB behind Matt Cassel, who is starting against the Raiders.
News: In the Chiefs' Week 1 loss at the Ravens, FB Mike Cox, WR Terrance Copper, WR Quinten Lawrence and TE Brad Cottam were active but didn't produce any stats.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now. The Chiefs play vs. the Raiders in Week 2.
News: The Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs have WR Dwayne Bowe as a third-string receiver on the depth chart. The current depth chart lists Terrance Copper and Devard Darling as starters, Amani Toomer and Mark Bradley as second string and Bobby Engram and Bowe as third string. "This group as a whole needs work," Chiefs coach Todd Haley said. "They have a ways to go." Bowe has had problems all offseason, especially with dropped passes. Haley had Bowe's eyes checked to find out whether his dropped passes were related to poor vision, had cleats examined to help receivers improve their routes and has tried verbal assault therapy anything to get through to Bowe, who is talented but inconsistent. Now, Haley is attacking Bowe's job security with the depth chart. "I'm always pushing and prodding and trying to instigate a little bit and get some emotion out of guys and get some passion out of guys," Haley said. "That's the way I've done it. There's a lot of different ways. That's what I've done more than anything, just try to press them every day and not give them a whole lot of time to breathe."
Analysis: We expect Bowe will start playing to the level Haley wants, and he's still worth drafting as a No. 2 Fantasy WR worth a pick around Round 4 in all leagues. That said, he needs to start improving in practice so he can rise up the depth chart and regain confidence in Haley.
News: The Chiefs signed WR Amani Toomer on Tuesday, adding quality hands and depth to their receiving corps. This probably means that playing time will be limited for low-end Chiefs receivers like Devard Darling, Jeff Webb and Terrance Copper. All three are in jeopardy of also getting cut.
Analysis: None of these receivers are expected to contribute big stats anyway, so owners can safely keep them off rosters.
News: The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent WR Terrance Copper, who spent last season in New Orleans and Baltimore. He didn't record a catch in 2008. He has six career receiving touchdowns and exactly 600 yards receiving over five NFL seasons.
Analysis: Copper will compete for playing time as a reserve WR but will likely spend more time on special teams than anything else. Ignore him in all leagues coming into this season.
News: The Baltimore Ravens have listed the following players as inactive for Week 16 on Saturday night at Dallas: QB Todd Bouman (3rd QB), K Steven Hauschka, WR Terrance Copper, WR Marcus Maxwell and DL Edgar Jones.
Analysis: Most of these players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 16 at Dallas.
News: Ravens QB Todd Bouman (3rd), RB Jalen Parmele, WR Terrance Copper, WR Marcus Maxwell and DB Evan Oglesby have all been ruled inactive for Week 15 vs. Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Most of these players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 15 and likely longer.
News: The Ravens have announced their Week 13 inactives. Not in uniform in Cincinnati will be: QB Todd Bouman (third QB), WR Terrance Copper (neck), WR Marcus Maxwell (coach's decision), CB Frank Walker (coach's decision), TE Edgar Jones (coach's decision) and DT Lamar Divens (shoulder).
Analysis: Copper has some minimal Fantasy value, but continue to ignore him in all formats, just like all the other players on this list.
News: Ravens WR Terrance Copper (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 12 vs. Philadelphia. Copper doesn't have a catch in the six games he has dressed this season.
Analysis: Copper is in his first season with Baltimore after spending the last two with New Orleans. He played a much bigger role with the Saints, but was still a low-end option. He now has no Fantasy value because he hardly sees the field when healthy.
News: Ravens WR Terrance Copper (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 11 at N.Y. Giants.
News: Ravens WR Terrance Copper and RB Lorenzo Neal didn't record offensive statistics Week 10 at Houston.
Analysis: Neither of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them both on waivers.
News: After placing WR Demetrius Williams on IR with a leg injury, the Ravens signed ex-Saints wideout Terrance Copper. Copper, 26, was with the Saints since being claimed off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys before the 2006 season. In 35 regular-season games with New Orleans, Copper caught 38 passes for 511 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 15 tackles on special teams and was used occasionally to return kickoffs. "We feel like he's the best guy for us," coach John Harbaugh said. "He's been a return guy pretty much his whole career and in college, and he's been a really solid special teams guy throughout his career. So he will contribute some way."
Analysis: Expect Copper to eventually see a couple of deep balls as he'll fill Williams' spot as a "go long" receiver. He's not expected to suddenly post regular stats, so keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Saints cut WR Terrance Copper on Tuesday. Copper had been with the Saints since being claimed off waivers from Dallas before the 2006 season. In 35 regular season games with New Orleans, Copper caught 38 passes for 511 yards and five touchdowns and added 15 tackles on special teams.
Analysis: Copper hadn't caught a single pass this season, and players like Robert Meachem and Lance Moore had passed him on the depth chart. Obviously, he should remain on waivers in Fantasy.
News: New Orleans WRs Robert Meachem and Terrence Copper and backup QB Mark Brunell all got into the game late in Week 6's dominating win over the Raiders but none picked up any offensive stats.
Analysis: Meachem came into the game with seven catches for 235 yards and two scores. Meachem has been in the rotation with the Saints receivers banged up but with Marques Colston returning in Week 7 most likely, that limits Meachem and Cooper. Neither should be considered for Fantasy in Week 7 against the Jets. The same goes for Brunell, who is just a backup to Drew Brees.
News: Saints RB Mike Karney, WR Terrance Copper, TE Buck Ortega and QB Mark Brunell all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 5 against the Vikings.
Analysis: Most of these players are either reserves or play a marginal role in the Saints offense. They have little to no Fantasy value heading into Week 6 against the Raiders.
News: The Saints DST had two interceptions, one fumble recovery and six sacks Sunday against the 49ers. Terrance Copper had one kickoff return for 18 yards, and Pierre Thomas had three kickoff returns for 86 yards. Charles Grant had two sacks, and Tracy Porter, Will Smith, Sedrick Ellis and Kendrick Clancy all had one sack. Porter also had an interception.
Analysis: The Saints DST will likely not play this well in Week 5 against the Vikings, so don't consider starting them, even after this outing.
News: New Orleans listed the following players as being inactive for Week 3's game in Denver: WR Marques Colston, WR Terrance Copper, RB Aaron Stecker, DB Aaron Glenn, LB Scott Fujita, TE Mark Campbell and DL Antwan Lake.
Analysis: Colston is expected to miss a few more weeks after undergoing thumb surgery. He is a must-start Fantasy WR when healthy, but keep him reserved until further notice. Stecker's absence leaves the running duties on Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush for the Saints. The rest of these players have little to no Fantasy value.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3 at Denver. He did not practice Friday after taking limited reps earlier in the week.
Analysis: Copper has dressed for the first two games, but has no catches. He has just 46 catches in 58 career games, so you can see where he stands on the totem pole in New Orleans. He has little to no Fantasy value when healthy.
News: New Orleans WR Terrance Copper did not catch a pass in Week 2 against the Redskins. Copper did, however, return one kickoff for 17 yards.
Analysis: Copper didn't pick up an offensive stat in Week 1, either. He's not worth owning in Fantasy and certainly should not be starting Week 3 in Denver.
News: Saints RB Deuce McAllister, QB Mark Brunell, TE Billy Miller, WR Terrance Copper, FB Mike Karney and TE Mark Campbell all dressed for New Orleans in their Week 1 win over the Buccaneers but did not record an offensive stat.
Analysis: McAllister is recovering from a knee injury and should be back in the Saints lineup soon as a backup to Reggie Bush. He should be owned in all formats. Copper is the only other player in this group with Fantasy value, and his is minimal at best. Continue to ignore the rest in all Fantasy leagues.
News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports 2007 training camp stars Lance Moore and Devery Henderson may need to have another blistering month of practice starting in late July if they hope to make the roster. Moore is known more for his versatility than anything else. He was serviceable at wide receiver last season and lacked a spark in the return game. Saints coach Sean Payton altered his tune a couple of weeks ago by saying he'd consider keeping a roster spot open primarily for a returner. That gives Skyler Green more of a chance than originally thought and will put pressure on Moore. You might say Terrance Copper could be in the same danger as Moore, but Copper's play on the return teams could give him an edge. Henderson's speed is evident. His lack of hands is evident as well. With Robert Meachem and seventh-round pick Adrian Arrington on his tail, Henderson's future is in danger after only receiving a one-year contract in March to stay in New Orleans.
Analysis: The Saints have plenty of bodies at receiver but need someone to step up opposite Marques Colston. Right now, Meachem is the leading candidate to start, but someone from the group of Moore, Henderson, Copper and Arrington could get cut. Keep an eye on what happens.
News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Saints WR Adrian Arrington is playing well. Though it's far too early to tell if he'll be able to grasp the Saints' offense and perform with any consistency, he certainly passes the eyeball test. Arrington looks like a prototypical receiver with his 6-foot-3, 192-pound build. He's a fluid runner and appears to be a natural pass-catcher. Saints Coach Sean Payton praised him after the rookie minicamp this month. It's not outlandish to make early comparisons to Marques Colston, and not just because both were seventh-round picks. The Saints have their top five receivers back from last season -- Colston, David Patten, Devery Henderson, Lance Moore and Terrance Copper. And typically, teams keep five receivers on the active roster. The Saints made an exception for Robert Meachem last year, keeping six receivers because they didn't want to risk losing their first-round draft pick.
Analysis: Henderson is in the most jeopardy after four inconsistent years in New Orleans. Moore and Copper, meanwhile, bring added value on special teams -- which is key for the fourth and fifth receivers on any NFL team if they want to be active on game day. Henderson, Meachem and Arrington have little or no experience playing special teams. Arrington, meanwhile, is worth drafting in rookie formats. In seasonal leagues, he should be ignored.
News: The Saints and WR Terrance Copper agreed to terms on a contract on Wednesday. He re-upped with New Orleans for two more years.
Analysis: Copper ended 2007 with one start in 15 games and 15 catches for 126 yards (a weak 8.4 avg.) and two touchdowns. He is a decent third or fourth receiver, but don't expect him to fall into regular playing time in 2008. Keep him out of Fantasy draft plans.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper ended 2007 with one start in 15 games and 15 catches for 126 yards (a weak 8.4 avg.) and two touchdowns. Copper is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Analysis: Copper is a decent third or fourth receiver for an NFL club to consider. Don't expect him to fall into regular playing time in 2008. Keep him out of Fantasy draft plans.
News: Saints coach Sean Payton said veteran Terrance Copper hasn't passed Devery Henderson on the depth chart as the team's fourth wide receiver, according to The Sports Xchange, even though Copper appeared to be more involved in the passing game recently. "I wouldn't look at it that way," Payton said last week. "Those guys are all playing so that wouldn't be fair to say. We have plays that we want Terrance on the field -- it might even be a run-blocking assignment."
Analysis: Neither Copper nor Henderson does enough to matter in Fantasy, so this news shouldn't make much of a difference in anyone's league. Henderson still has slightly more value because of his big-play ability, but both players should remain on waivers in most cases, and neither should start at Chicago in Week 17.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper finished with 28 yards on three catches vs. Philadelphia in Week 16.
Analysis: Copper isn't productive enough on a regular basis to warrant use in Fantasy play. Keep him seated at Chicago in Week 17.
News: Saints WR Terrence Copper caught two passes for 29 yards in New Orleans' 31-24 win over the Cardinals in Week 15.
Analysis: Copper is the third WR option in New Orleans, but he doesn't get enough looks to be worthy of Fantasy consideration for Week 16's game vs. Philadelphia.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper, RB Jamaal Branch, TE Ronnie Ghent and QB Jamie Martin didn't record statistics Week 14 at Atlanta.
Analysis: None of these players ever contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave all on waivers Week 15 against the Cardinals.
News: The Saints called WR Terrance Copper's number down near the goal line in the first quarter Week 13 against the Bucs and he responded with a touchdown grab. Drew Brees threw a perfect fade pass to the left corner of the end zone and there was Copper to haul in the 4-yard touchdown pass. It was his only grab of the game and second touchdown this season.
Analysis: Two of Copper's eight catches this season have gone for touchdowns. Good ratio, too little catches. Copper is buried on the depth chart in New Orleans right now, and despite the score, he is not a recommended Fantasy option heading into Week 14 against the Falcons.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper made one catch for 12 yards in Week 12 at Carolina.
Analysis: Copper is too far down the depth chart for the time being and Fantasy owners should not be starting him until further notice. Leave him on the waiver wire.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught one pass for 5 yards at Houston in Week 11.
Analysis: Copper is not a reliable stat producer and shouldn't be considered a good Fantasy option in the Saints' Week 12 game at Carolina.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught only two passes for 10 yards in New Orleans' 31-10 win over the 49ers in Week 8, but one went for a touchdown.
Analysis: Copper is about the fifth or sixth option in the Saints passing game and has minimal value because of that. Don't pick him up for Week 9 when the Saints host the Jaguars.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper, TE John Owens and QB Jamie Martin didn't record stats Week 7 against the Falcons.
Analysis: These players all sit low on the depth chart and don't deserve Fantasy consideration barring a roster shakeup. The Saints visit the 49ers in Week 8.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that Saints WR Terrance Copper could play a larger role in the offense with Devery Henderson struggling with drops. Copper started several games last season and filled in well when Joe Horn was injured in the second half of the season, catching 23 passes for 385 yards.
Analysis: Any role in the offense would be a larger one for Copper. He only has 29 yards on three catches so far this season. David Patten and Lance Moore will also see more playing time with Henderson struggling, so keep Copper on the waiver wire barring an unforeseen breakout. The Saints visit Seattle in Week 6.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper, WR David Patten, TE Billy Miller, TE John Owens and QB Jamie Martin did not record meaningful statistics in Week 5's loss against the Panthers.
Analysis: These players all sit low on the depth chart and don't deserve Fantasy consideration barring a roster shakeup. The Saints visit the Seahawks in Week 6.
News: WR Terrance Copper (two receptions, 23 yards), WR Devery Henderson (one reception, 11 yards) and veteran WR David Patten (one reception, six yards) all did very little in Week 3 against the Titans.
Analysis: Only Henderson is worth a look as a No. 4 Fantasy receiver or 'flex' option heading into Week 5 against the Panthers once the team returns from its bye. Copper and Patten should remain on the waiver wire for now.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught one pass for six yards during a Week 2 loss to the Bucs.
Analysis: Copper now has one catch for six yards in two weeks of play. Not exactly the greatest numbers in the world. Continue to keep Copper out of Fantasy lineups for Week 3 against the Titans.
News: The following Saints dressed but did not record an offensive statistic at Indianapolis in Week 1: TE Billy Miller, FB Mike Karney, WR Lance Moore, WR Terrance Copper and TE John Owens.
Analysis: These supporting Saints shouldn't be considered for regular Fantasy use because they don't record stats regularly. Do not consider them for use in Week 2 when the Saints play at Tampa Bay.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper, who had a solid training camp and is making a bid to be the third receiver, started against the Bengals because Marques Colston had soreness in his right leg, reports The Sports Xchange.
Analysis: Copper could be a decent low-end WR option if he wins the job as the No. 3 WR. Continue to monitor what happens and see how he does the rest of the preseason.
News: Saints WRs Lance Moore (team-high six catches and 70 yards), Terrance Copper (34 receiving yards) and Jamal Jones (24 receiving yards) all played at Cincinnati in New Orleans' third preseason game but failed to score a touchdown. Copper started for the Saints.
Analysis: None of these receivers should be considered in standard Fantasy Football leagues. Only Copper is worth a look in the deepest of WR-heavy formats.
News: The Saints and restricted free-agent WR Terrance Copper have agreed to a one-year contract. Copper should continue to serve as a situational receiver, with potential to move up into a role in the slot. Copper dropped a bunch of passes last year but established himself as a deep threat for the Saints. His best catch of 2006 was a 48-yard hail mary reception against Atlanta.
Analysis: Copper caught 23 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns in 2006. He saw extended playing time when Saints WRs Marques Colston and Joe Horn got hurt late in the regular season. However, we were surprised when the Saints didn't tender him higher at the start of the offseason. Not that Copper is a great NFL wide receiver, but he has some game experience and is capable of being a home-run hitting wideout. Consider him a late-round sleeper at best for now.
News: The Saints have tendered restricted free agents WR Terrance Copper and DT Rodney Leisle. If either of them signs an offer sheet with another team, the Saints have the right of first refusal. If they opt not to match the offer sheet, they would receive as compensation a fifth-round pick for Leisle and nothing for Copper, opening the door for another team to come along and take a chance on him.
Analysis: Copper caught 23 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns in 2006. He saw extended playing time when Saints WRs Marques Colston and Joe Horn got hurt late in the regular season. However, what do you think the Saints are suggesting by not tendering Copper higher? Maybe they're not satisfied with him and want him to leave. In the wake of Joe Horn's release, we found this surprising. Not that Copper is a great NFL wide receiver, but he has some game experience and is capable of being a home-run hitting wideout. Consider him a late-round sleeper at best for now. As for Leisle, he shouldn't be considered in Fantasy play.
News: Notable inactives for the Carolina-New Orleans Week 17 game include: Panthers QB Chris Weinke (No. 3 QB), WR Taye Biddle, WR Drew Carter, DB Cam Newton, RB Eric Shelton, FB Steven Jackson and LB Thomas Davis. For the Saints, WR Terrance Copper, CB Fred Thomas, SS Omar Stoutmire, RB Deuce McAllister, RB Aaron Stecker, TE Mark Campbell, WR Joe Horn and DE Will Smith are inactive. Reggie Bush will start for McAllister, Billy Miller for Campbell and Jamal Jones for Horn.
Analysis: Anyone inactive should be benched or cut in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper (foot) has been downgraded from questionable to doubtful for Week 17 vs. Carolina.
Analysis: Copper has been an erratic Fantasy option this season and is not recommended for Week 17 vs. Carolina.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper (foot) is questionable for Week 17 vs. Carolina.
Analysis: Copper has been an erratic Fantasy option this season and is not recommended for Week 17 vs. Carolina.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught two passes for 46 yards in Week 16 at the N.Y. Giants.
Analysis: Copper has been an erratic Fantasy option this season and is not recommended for Week 17 vs. Carolina.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught three passes for 38 yards in Week 15 vs. Washington.
Analysis: Copper hasn't been a reliable Fantasy option this season and is not a recommended option for Week 16 at the N.Y. Giants.
News: Terrance Copper had one reception for eight yards in Week 14 at Dallas.
Analysis: Copper is not a recommended Fantasy option for Week 15 against the Redskins.
News: Saints leading receiver Marques Colston missed most of the last three games with a sprained left ankle and has been listed as questionable the past two weeks. Joe Horn aggravated a nagging groin injury on his first catch against the 49ers in the first quarter and did not play again. Payton said it was premature to comment on their conditions before the first injury report comes out Wednesday.
Analysis: Expect both to be questionable for the game. Colston has had plenty of rest and could be ready to go for this big game, whereas Horn may not be ready as he hurt his groin again vs. the 49ers. Monitor their status this week -- including whether or not they practice on a daily basis -- before finalizing your Week 14 lineup. If they don't play, Devery Henderson and Terrance Copper would take over in the starting lineup.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper did not have any catches in Week 13 vs. San Francisco.
Analysis: Copper's slow day put an end to a streak of three straight poor games. The Saints had an unusually slow day in the air, but Copper can be useful in very large leagues as a replacement option. The Saints like to spread the ball around and Copper has been a decent threat for them. They'll take on the Cowboys in Week 14.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper was picked up off waivers after training camp and began the year as a special teams player. Suddenly, Joe Horn's injury thrust him into the third receiver's spot. In the Saints' last three games, he has 13 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns, including a TD on QB Drew Brees' 48-yard heave at the end of the first half in Atlanta last Sunday, a catch replayed numerous times on national highlight shows.
Analysis: Copper should be considered a low-end No. 3 for the Saints in Week 13 against the 49ers.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught a 48-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to end the first half at Atlanta in Week 12. It was his only catch of the game.
Analysis: Copper played as the No. 3 receiver but was the only Saint to catch just one pass, and it was a Hail Mary. Consider Copper a very low-end Fantasy option in the coming weeks, including vs. San Francisco in Week 13.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper (knee) practiced on Thursday and was removed from New Orleans' injury report. He is expected to play and possibly start for Marques Colston at Atlanta in Week 12.
Analysis: Monitor Colston's status; if he sits, then Copper becomes a fantastic No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 12.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 12 at Atlanta.
Analysis: Copper has now put together back-to-back big games and should begin to attract tons of Fantasy attention. With Marques Colston suffering an ankle injury, Copper could be in line for even more attention in Week 12 at Atlanta. He should already be considered a viable No. 3 option in larger leagues -- Colston or no Colston.
News: Saints WR Terrance Copper caught six passes for 87 yards, including a 27-yard score in Week 11 vs. Cincinnati.
