News: Bengals defensive linemen Domata Peko barely made an impact, but managed to recover a fumble during Thursday's contest against the Eagles in Week 15. Peko fell on a fumble on the second play of the game. He also added one tackle in a 34-13 victory.
Analysis: Peko has just 1/2 a sack in his last three games and is not consistent enough for Fantasy owners to rely on. Continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.
News: Cincinnati DL Domata Peko finished with five tackles and a sack during the Bengals' 23-16 victory over Arizona in Week 16. Peko took down Cardinals QB John Skelton as Cincinnati amassed five total sacks on the overmatched signal-caller.
Analysis: Peko's sack gave him 2 1/2 for the season and matching his previous career high set during his rookie campaign in 2006. He remains a decent contributor for tackles, but his sack production is inconsistent. Consider Peko a low-end option in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Bengals RB Cedric Benson, QB Jordan Palmer, DB Chris Crocker, RB Fui Vakapuna, TE J.P. Foschi, DL Robert Geathers and DL Domata Peko have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 17 game against the Jets.
Analysis: Benson is the only one of the players listed that has any Fantasy value in standard leagues looking ahead to the 2010 season.
News: The Bengals have announced the following players as inactive for Week 16: DL Domata Peko, DB Chris Crocker, RB Fui Vakapuna, WR Jerome Simpson, DL Orien Harris and QB Jordan Palmer.
Analysis: None of the players listed have any chance at Fantasy appeal this season. Leave them reserved in all leagues until further notice.
News: Bengals DT Domata Peko, who's missed the past three games with a knee injury, will be on the practice field Wednesday, though it sounds as if he'll be very limited. The plan still calls for him to return for the Week 17 game vs. the Jets. "I'll have my cleats on Wednesday," Peko said. "I can't wait to get them back on."
Analysis: Peko has minimal Fantasy value in IDP leagues, but he's a good run stuffer for the Bengals. Keep an eye on his progress because if he can return for Week 16 against Kansas City that would help the Bengals DST.
News: The Bengals listed the following players as inactive for Week 15 against San Diego: RB Fui Vakapuna, QB Jordan Palmer, RB Bernard Scott, DB Chris Crocker, DL Domata Peko, DL Orien Harris.
Analysis: None of the players listed have any chance at Fantasy appeal this season. Leave them reserved in all leagues until further notice.
News: Bengals DL Domata Peko (knee) was held out of practice Wednesday and is officially out for Week 15 at San Diego.
Analysis: Peko does not have Fantasy value as an IDP player and should not be owned in Fantasy at this time.
News: Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko had arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday, sidelining him for at least a couple of weeks. Peko sprained his left knee during a game on Oct. 18 but didn't miss any time until Sunday, when he was inactive for a 23-13 win over the Detroit Lions. Second-year player Pat Sims started in his place and had one tackle. He was officially ruled out of the team's Week 14 game at Minnesota on Wednesday.
Analysis: Peko wasn't productive enough to warrant Fantasy use in the first place. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Bengals RB Bernard Scott, RB Fui Vakapuna, LB Dan Skuta, TE Chase Coffman, WR Jerome Simpson, DL Domata Peko and QB Jordan Palmer have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 13 game against the Lions.
Analysis: Scott is not likely going to be a relevant Fantasy option now that Cedric Benson has returned to action. The rest of these players are not relevant Fantasy players.
News: Bengals DT Domata Peko, who left Sunday's game at Oakland with a sprained right MCL, said he'll try to play this Sunday vs. Cleveland with a customized knee brace. "I'm a little sore," Peko said Monday. "It hurts a little bit when I do some change of direction stuff. I should be day by day with a chance to play this Sunday. I'm happy about that."
Analysis: Peko has minimal Fantasy value in IDP leagues, but he is important to the Bengals defense. Keep an eye on his progress and hope he's OK against the Browns.
News: Bengals DL Robert Geathers and DL Domata Peko both recovered a fumble on Sunday in a Week 11 loss to the Raiders. Geathers failed to get a tackle in the game and Peko had only one.
Analysis: Geathers is a No. 3 Fantasy option in IDP formats. Peko is not worth owning in any Fantasy format.
News: Defensive end Antwan Odom will miss the rest of the season because of a torn Achilles' tendon, costing the Cincinnati Bengals their top pass rusher. Odom had surgery on his right leg Monday and was placed on injured reserve. Odom is tied for the league lead with eight sacks and has been the Bengals' most dominant defensive player. The team also lost DL Domata Peko with a knee injury in Week 6 and also were without DL Frostee Rucker, who has a sprained ankle. DT Tank Johnson played with an injured foot.
Analysis: Odom can be released from rosters now that he's done for the year, and Rucker, Johnson and Peko aren't productive enough to warrant Fantasy use.
News: The Bengals lost starting DT Domata Peko to a knee injury in the first quarter Sunday against Houston. He did not return and did not record a tackle.
Analysis: Peko is a low-end DL in IDP leagues. His main job is to stuff the run.
News: Bengals LB Dhani Jones (seven tackles), DB Chinedum Ndukwe (six tackles, sack), DL Domata Peko (six tackles) and LB Rashad Jeanty (five tackles) did their jobs in a Week 16 shutout of the Browns.
Analysis: Jones is a solid low-end starting LB in IDP Fantasy formats, while Ndukwe and Jeanty have minimal value. Peko should be ignored in all leagues. Jones is the only one worth starting in Week 17 vs. Kansas City.
News: Bengals LB Dhani Jones led the way for the Cincinnati defense with 10 tackles in a loss to the Titans in Week 2. Also contributing with nice outings were DB Marvin White (eight tackles), LB Keith Rivers (eight tackles), DL Domata Peko (eight tackles) and DB Kyries Hebert (fumble recovery).
Analysis: Rivers is a decent starting LB in all IDP Fantasy formats, while Jones has minimal value. The other three guys have zero value.
News: Defensive tackle Domata Peko has received a five-year contract extension from the Cincinnati Bengals. Peko was a fourth-round draft pick in 2006. He started every game last season and had 1.5 sacks. Peko's original contract extended through next season. The deal he signed Thursday will stretch through 2014.
Analysis: Peko is a solid defensive lineman but has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on drafting him in IDP leagues this season.
News: Bengals DL Domata Peko picked up nine tackles -- six solo -- and half a sack Week 15 at San Francisco.
Analysis: Peko now has only 1 1/2 sacks this season and, as an interior lineman, doesn't generally record many tackles. Leave him on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Bengals DL Michael Myers totaled five tackles in Cincinnati's 51-45 loss to the Browns in Week 2. Other notable Bengals defenders from Week 2 at Cleveland include: LB Caleb Miller (five tackles), DT John Thornton (five tackles), S Madieu Williams (five tackles), LB Landon Johnson (four tackles), DT Domata Peko (four tackles) and DL Robert Geathers (three tackles).
Analysis: Only Geathers, Johnson and Williams are worthy of consideration in IDP leagues. The rest have little to no Fantasy value.
News: The Bengals DST did little against the Falcons and forced no turnovers. LB Caleb Miller had nine tackles. DL Justin Smith had 12 tackles and a half-sack. DL Domata Peko had seven tackles and a half-sack. And DL Bryan Robinson had two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: The Bengals DST should not be started in Week 9 against Baltimore. Use their IDP players if needed.
News: The Bengals signed defensive tackle Domata Peko, a fourth-round pick, to a deal worth more than $2 million, along with a $407,000 signing bonus. Peko will help pad the defensive line depth.
Analysis: Peko should be ignored in all Fantasy leagues.
