News: The following players were cut by the Raiders Friday: LB Kaelin Burnett, K Eddy Carmona, WR Derek Carrier, WR Brandon Carswell, DE Hall Davis, TE Kyle Efaw, DL Dominique Hamilton, LB Chad Kilgore, WR Eddie McGee, RB Lonyae Miller, WR Roscoe Parrish, WR Travionte Session, LB Nathan Stupar and S Curtis Taylor.

Analysis: None of these players were or are expected to put up good enough stats in the first place. Leave them all off rosters.

NIners release 26 hopefuls

News: The 49ers cut down the roster by 26 on Saturday to get to the league-mandated 53 players on deadline. Among the casualties were WRs Ronald Johnson, Joe Hastings, Lance Long and Chris Hogan, CBs Phillip Adams, Phillip Davis, and Cory Nelms, LB Alex Joseph, TE Nate Lawrie, C Chase Beeler, QB McLeod Bethel-Thomspon, FB Jack Corcoran, DT Brian Bulcke, S Chris Maragos, RB Xavier Omon, TE Konrad Reuland, LB Monte Simmons, LB Kenny Rowe, NT Sealver Siliga, FS Curtis Taylor, and DB Anthony West.

Analysis: None of the aforementioned players were expected to challenge for starting positions, so they remain irrelevant in Fantasy play as well.

News: 49ers S Curtis Taylor is out for the season. The team placed Taylor on injured reserve Monday with a strained quad. It's the second time in as many seasons Taylor has had a season-ending injury. A hip ailment he suffered last Nov. 29 against Jacksonville ended his rookie season prematurely.

Analysis: Taylor is nothing more than a backup safety for the 49ers and had just three tackles in five games this season. He obviously has no Fantasy value at this time.

	Taylor out a month for 49ers News: 49ers S Curtis Taylor is expected to miss at least a month with a quad strain. It's the second serious injury in as many seasons for Taylor, who went on injured reserve after suffering a hip strain last Nov. 29 against Jacksonville. Analysis: Taylor is nothing more than a backup safety for the 49ers and has no Fantasy appeal. Continue to ignore him.

Taylor done for the season

News: Rookie safety Curtis Taylor's season is over for the 49ers. The team placed Taylor on injured reserve Tuesday with a strained hip, which he injured after being hit on punt coverage late in the first quarter of Sunday's 20-3 win over Jacksonville. San Francisco promoted fullback Brit Miller from the practice squad to fill the roster spot. The 49ers also signed receiver Rodney Wright to the practice squad.

Analysis: Taylor, a seventh-round draft pick out of Louisiana State, had one tackle in seven games and made eight stops on special teams. He is not a relevant Fantasy option and should remain on waivers in all IDP formats. Miller and Wright are also not worth owning.

Taylor shows up on injury report

News: The 49ers did not practice Monday, but they listed the following players on the injury report for Thursday's game against Chicago as did not participate: S Michael Lewis (quadricep), RB Michael Robinson (shoulder), DE Justin Smith (not injury related), LB Takeo Spikes (shoulder) and S Curtis Taylor (shin). They are listed as questionable for Thursday's game against Chicago.

Analysis: Taylor has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all IDP leagues when healthy.

Analysis: Most of these players are reserves for the 49ers and have little to no Fantasy appeal when active. Keep them reserved in Week 4.

	DB Taylor lands in San Fran News: The 49ers drafted safety Curtis Taylor with a seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft. Analysis: Taylor has nice size and was a quality defender at LSU, but he's injury prone and not expected to contribute much for a couple of years. He's no better than a late-round pick in deeper rookie-only drafts this summer.
