49ers DT Glenn Dorsey could sit out Week 12

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/21/2014) Although the 49ers activated him from the short-term injured reserve list earlier this week, there's a chance that nose tackle Glenn Dorsey sits out Week 12 against Washington because he may not be healthy enough to return, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio indicated that Dorsey is not fully recovered from a torn biceps. He was unable to practice Thursday.

"I think Glenn's at a point where he's kind of stuck. I don't think he's taken any steps backward. Nothing negative has happened. Just hasn't taken that next step yet to where he feels like he can go out there and cut it loose yet," Fangio said. "I don’t think he feels he's close to being 100 percent to use it, the way you need to be able to use it down there in the trenches."

49ers DST looking to shake off disappointing start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/18/2013) The 49ers DST came into the season highly regarded, but has been a major disappointment. San Francisco is tied for 28th with 14 Fantasy points through two games.

When nose tackle Ian Williams broke his ankle against the Seahawks, Glenn Dorsey replaced him and the run defense suffered. Marshawn Lynch ended up running for 98 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Rookie safety Eric Reid, meanwhile, is dealing with a concussion.

Still, the 49ers are at home Sunday for their best matchup of the young season. Start them against Indianapolis and expect their most productive performance yet. Two of three CBSSports.com experts peg the 49ers DST as a top-8 play this week.
