(10/27/2013) Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson made his presence known in the passing game Week 8 against the Falcons.

Johnson picked off opposing quarterback Matt Ryan twice in the team's 27-13 win. Both of Johnson's interceptions came in the second half. His second ended any hope at a Falcons comeback. Johnson wasn't much of a threat otherwise, picking up just one tackle and an additional pass defensed.

Johnson is on a bye Week 9. He'll take on the Texans Week 10.

(10/16/2013) The Cardinals releasd a long injury report for Thursday's game against the Seahawks. Among the injured players, wideout Brittan Golden (hamstring) has been ruled out and defensive end Calais Campbell (neck) is questionable.

The probables include linebackers John Abraham (shoulder), Karlos Dansby (quadricep) and Kenny Demens (hamstring), tight end Jim Dray (quadricep), safety Rashad Johnson (finger) and defensive end Ronald Talley (wrist).

(10/11/2013) Of the 10 players listed on Friday's injury report for Week 6 for the Cardinals, eight are from the defensive side of the ball. Seven of the eight are officially probable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, with only linebacker Kenny Demens (hamstring) considered questionable.

Among the probables are: linebackers John Abraham (shoulder), Jasper Brinkley (groin), Kevin Minter (hamstring), and Daryl Washington (knee); defensive linemen Darnell Dockett (groin) and Ronald Talley (wrist); and defensive back Rashad Johnson (finger). 


Rashard Johnson to wear splint

(10/8/2013) Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday that safety Rashad Johnson will play in Sunday's game against San Francisco, FOX Sports reports.

Arians said he'll play with a splint on his injured finger. He didn't want Johnson playing with a protective mitt against the Panthers.

Johnson has not been able to practice all week. Brinkley, Colledge, Minter and Talley have been limited throughout the week. 


Rashad Johnson having some complications with hurt finger

(10/2/2013) Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said during a radio interview Tuesday there is cause for concern safety Rashad Johnson might need more surgery for his injured finger. Arians said Johnson's finger, which caused him to miss Week 4 at Tampa Bay, wasn't healing properly before being pulled from practice last week.

"There was a slight infection after the first hit, when they had the cast on," Arians said, per SiriusXM Radio. "There's no telling what germs you're trapping in there when you ball it up and put the cast on. The stitches are still there. He could evidently lose more of the digit if he bangs it too much, and with any infection they could have to take more off. We're going to be careful with it."

Rashad Johnson undergoes finger surgery

(9/23/2013) Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson underwent surgery Sunday after the top of his left middle finger was severed during a game against the Saints, according to The Arizona Republic. Johnson needed surgery because the bone was exposed, so the doctors must watch for infection.

The doctors shaved the bone on Johnson's finger and repaired it. Johnson's injury happened while tackling Darren Sproles on a punt return. Johnson isn't sure what happened and believes he might have smashed the finger into the ground.


Cardinals lose three defenders to injury

(9/22/2013) Making the Cardinals' 31-7 loss Week 3 at New Orleans worse was the fact that they lost three defensive starters to injuries.

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander was the first to go. He left late in the first quarter with a foot injury, going without a stat in the contest. Defensive back Rashad Johnson also left in the first half, having suffered a finger injury. He had three solo tackles before leaving. Linebacker Sam Acho left in the third quarter with an ankle injury. He recorded his first sack of the season earlier that afternoon.

The Cardinals visit the Buccaneers in Week 4.


Johnson registers first TD

(12/16/2012) Cardinals defensive back Rashad Johnson tallied three tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown during Arizona's 38-10 victory over Detroit in Week 15. Johnson returned an interception by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford 53 yards in the second quarter -- the first pick-six the Cardinals recorded in the game. Defensive back Greg Toler also returned an interception 102 yards for a touchdown.
