Woodyard turns in productive outing

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard turned in one of his more productive performances in Week 16 against the Browns. Woodyard, who has been playing through an ankle injury, collected 1.5 sacks in the 34-13 win to go along with eight tackles -- four solo. He was also credited with a pair of QB hits and one tackle for loss.
Analysis: Woodyard has turned in a career campaign with the Broncos this season as he has already smashed his career highs in tackles, sacks, interceptions and passes defended. The 26-year-old continues to take advantage of all the attention Von Miller draws and should be left active in the majority of formats heading into Week 17.

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard was officially ruled active for Week 16 against the Browns. Woodyard was able to practice in full all week, despite being listed on the team's injury report with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Woodyard has enjoyed a career campaign in his fifth season out of Kentucky as he already has 105 tackles to go with four sacks and three interceptions. Continue to view him as a solid Fantasy option in all IDP formats for Week 16.

Ankle not slowing down Woodyard

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard was able to practice in full for the third straight day Friday and is being considered as probable for Week 16 against the Browns. He was listed on the injury report due to a lingering ankle issue.
Analysis: Woodyard has enjoyed a career campaign in his fifth season out of Kentucky as he already has 105 tackles to go with four sacks and three interceptions. Continue to view him as a solid Fantasy option in all IDP formats for Week 16.

Woodyard has five tackles

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard, who had been questionable with an ankle injury -- and had missed Week 14 with the ailment -- had five tackles in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Woodyard has 105 tackles on the season, along with four sacks and three interceptions -- all career highs. He is a high-end option heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Browns.

Woodyard hopes to make return

News: Denver linebacker Wesley Woodyard was labeled questionable for Week 15 at Baltimore as he continues to work past an ankle injury that forced him to miss last Thursday's game. Woodyard, who has 100 tackles this season, was limited in practice throughout the past week.
Analysis: Woodyard's limited status actually signals an improvement for the 26-year-old from last week as he was unable to practice with the team. In addition to a career high in tackles, he also has a career-best four sacks on the year. Consider him a strong option in all Fantasy IDP formats if active for Week 15.

Woodyard not with the team

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard did not travel with the team and was officially ruled inactive for Thursday night's contest against the Raiders in Week 14 as he continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury. D.J. Williams and rookie Danny Trevathan are expected to take Woodyard's place in the lineup.
Analysis: Woodyard is an every-down linebacker, and though Williams may have the experience to fulfill that role, Fox wants to see more out of Trevathan at linebacker. This will be a tough blow for the Broncos, who will have to defend against Darren McFadden, who will make his return in Week 14. Despite the modest tackle total, Woodyard was still able to crack the century mark for the first time in his career and now stands at an even 100 stops. He has also notched a career-high four sacks in his career campaign. Keep him stashed in all formats heading into Week 14.

Woodyard doubtful for TNF

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard was officially listed as doubtful for Thursday night's contest against the Raiders as he continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury. D.J. Williams and rookie Danny Trevathan are expected to take Woodyard's place, if he is inactive. “I feel good about all our linebacking crew,” head coach John Fox said. “D.J., we’re obviously getting him back and getting him more familiar as we move along in our new defensive system. Danny Trevathan’s playing a lot in those roles so we feel confident in both those guys.”
Analysis: Woodyard is an every-down linebacker, and though Williams may have the experience to fulfill that role, Fox wants to see more out of Trevathan at linebacker. Despite the modest tackle total, Woodyard was still able to crack the century mark for the first time in his career and now stands at an even 100 stops. He has also notched a career-high four sacks in his career campaign. Consider him as a high-end Fantasy option when healthy.

Solo act eludes Woodyard

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard registered only three tackles during Denver's 31-23 win over Tampa Bay in Week 13. All of Woodyard's tackles were assisted as he finished with his lowest total since a loss to Houston in Week 3 (two).
Analysis: Despite the modest tackle total, Woodyard was still able to crack the century mark for the first time in his career and now stands at an even 100 stops. He has also notched a career-high four sacks in his career campaign and should be viewed as a high-end Fantasy option.

Woodyard keeping active

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard posted a game-high nine tackles and one sack during Denver's 17-9 win over Kansas City in Week 12. Woodyard, who also had a pass defended, registered one of the Broncos' two sacks on quarterback Brady Quinn.
Analysis: After a three-game stretch without a sack, Woodyard charged through the line of scrimmage Sunday after Quinn and boost his sack total to four on the season. He is now three tackles shy of reaching the century mark for the first time in his career and is viewed as a must-start Fantasy option.

Woodyard productive vs. Chargers

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard was fairly productive in Week 11 against the Chargers. Woodyard, who leads the team in tackles, finished with eight total stops in the 30-23 win. Five of those were credited as solo tackles and he also registered a pass defended, quarterback hit and tackle for loss in the victory.
Analysis: Woodyard continues to pace the team in tackles and his 88 stops on the year has him tied with Derrick Johnson for sixth most in the league. He also also has three sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and fumble recovery to his credit to go along with four passes defended. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Woodyard as a must-start option in all formats heading into Week 12.

Woodyard makes only five stops

News: Denver linebacker Wesley Woodyard finished with only single digits in tackles for the first time since September on Sunday of Week 10 at Carolina. Woodyard recorded three solo tackles and combined for five total stops against the Panthers in the Denver win. He did not record a sack or interception in the game.
Analysis: Woodyard has three sacks and two picks this season to go with his 80 tackles for the Broncos. The linebacker was averaging 12.5 tackles per game over his previous four contests and will likely bounce back nicely Week 11. He can remain active in just about all Fantasy IDP formats going forward.

Woodyard stays red-hot

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard stayed red-hot as he turned in another dominant performance during Sunday's contest against the Bengals in Week 9. Woodyard collected 14 tackles (four solo), including a tackle for loss, in a 31-23 victory.
Analysis: Woodyard has been on a roll as of late as he continues to lead the charge for the Broncos this season. He has 27 tackles in his last two games. He has 75 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions through his first eight games and is well beyond pace to eclipse the 100-yard mark in tackles this season. He is one of the top defensive leaders in the league and should be considered as a must-start IDP Fantasy option heading into Week 10.

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard turned in a dominant performance against the Saints in Week 8. Woodyard led the team with 13 tackles (nine solo) as he picked up sack, a forced fumble and an interception in a 34-14 victory.
Analysis: Woodyard was all over the place for the Broncos on Sunday as he enjoyed his best performance of the season. He has 61 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions through his first seven games and is well beyond pace to eclipse the 100-yard mark in tackles this season. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a solid IDP starting option heading into Week 9 at Cincinnati.

Woodyard leads the way for Denver

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard led his team in tackles in Week 6 against the Chargers. He finished with 11 total (eight solo) in the 35-24 win.
Analysis: Woodyard has racked up 48 tackles through six games this season and also has two sacks with an interception. He is already on pace for a career campaign and remains a viable option in Fantasy. With Denver coming up on a bye week, get Woodyard active for Week 8 against New Orleans.

Woodyard adds to tackle, sack totals

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard had a productive performance in Week 5 against the Patriots. He recorded 11 tackles (five solo) and half a sack in the 31-21 loss.
Analysis: Woodyard already has a career high with two sacks this season and could eclipse 100 tackles at this rate. Continue to view him as a viable option in deeper Fantasy IDP formats heading into Week 6 against the Seahawks.

Woodyard records interception Week 3

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard managed one solo tackle and one interception Week 3 against the Texans. Woodyard has 20 tackles (19 solo) through three games.
Analysis: Woodyard has slowed down a bit after recording 12 solo tackles in the opener against the Steelers. Although, he was very up and down in 2011 and still finished with 97 tackles. Woodyard remains a mid-level Fantasy start in IDP formats.

Woodyard opens strong

News: Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard had a big game in Week 1 against the Steelers, posting 12 tackles -- all solo -- and a sack on the final play of the game in a 31-19 victory. He added two tackles for losses in the game.
Analysis: Woodyard had some big games early last season as well, before tailing off, so the key for him will be consistency in his fifth season. Woodyard has value as a reserve Fantasy IDP option, but a few more weeks like this might vault him to starting status.

Broncos keep Woodyard

News: Wesley Woodyard agreed to a two-year deal with the Broncos on Monday. Woodyard, an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky in 2008, has played in at least 15 games in three of his four NFL seasons. He was a team captain the last two years and had 97 total tackles in 2011, per The Sports Xchange. Woodyard is the team's leader in special teams tackles since 2008.
Analysis: Woodyard was a decent Fantasy reserve last season and low-end No. 3 LB in deeper formats. Figure him to remain there in 2012.

Woodyard saves the day

News: Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard had just two tackles in Denver’s Week 14 13-10 overtime victory. The first came on the Bears’ second offensive play of the game and the second came on their last. The second was the far more important, as Woodyard likely saved the Broncos from a game-winning Marion Barber touchdown and forced a fumble that would lead to their own game-winning field goal.
Analysis: Woodyard started six of the first eight games of the season, and has seen his role decrease over the second half of the season. However, he had to have earned himself more playing time with his clutch forced fumble in the game’s waning minutes. He isn’t much of a contributor outside of tackles normally, so in his current role, he’s no more than a low-end Fantasy LB in IDP formats.

Woodyard collects seven more stops

News: Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard was fairly productive in Week 12 against the Chargers. Woodyard finished with seven tackles -- three solo -- in the 16-13 overtime win. He now has 76 tackles on the season.
Analysis: woodyard has put up career numbers in Denver this season and has a chance to eclipse the 100-tackle plateau. However, he doesn't offer much in the sack or turnover department, which continues to limit his value. Consider him a low-end Fantasy LB heading into Week 13.

Woodyyard chips in for Denver

News: Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard registered eight tackles, six solo, in Week 11 versus the Jets. He missed last week's game with his knee injury, but seemed fine on Thursday night.
Analysis: Woodyard continues to add to his new career high and now boasts 69 tackles on the year. Fantasy owners in IDP leagues should continue to view Woodyard as a viable LB option at this time.

News: Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard was active on Thursday night versus the Jets. He missed last week's game with his knee injury.

Woodyard sits against Chiefs

News: Denver LB Wesley Woodyard missed the Week 10 game at Kansas City with a troublesome knee injury. Woodyard was a limited participant in practice on Friday and could not play in the game Sunday. The Broncos listed him among the team's inactive players.
Analysis: Woodyard was seen wearing a large brace on his knee in practice and was a long shot to be active for the Week 10 game. He has already surpassed his previous career high in tackles and has 61 total this season. Consider him a viable option in Fantasy IDP formats if healthy.

Woodyard limited in practice, questionable

News: Denver LB Wesley Woodyard is listed as questionable for Week 10 at Kansas City with a troublesome knee injury. Woodyard was a limited participant in practice on Friday after sitting out the previous two days with the issue.
Analysis: Woodyard was seen wearing a large brace on his knee in practice Wednesday, which limited him from being on the field. He has already surpassed his previous career high in tackles and has 61 total this season. Consider him a viable option in Fantasy IDP formats if healthy.

Woodyard wearing large brace

News: The Denver Post reports Wednesday that Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard has a left knee injury. Woodyard was wearing a large brace at practice and was using a crutch.
Analysis: The 25-year-old Woodyard has been a nice source of tackles in deeper Fantasy IDP formats. This injury sounds serious, though, so we're not sure he's going to be a player worth using in Week 10 at Kansas City.
