Quintet of Colts injured and out Sunday

(12/7/2014) Five injured Colts will be inactive for the Week 14 clash in Cleveland, including standout cornerback Vontae Davis (concussion), linebackers Erik Walden (knee) and Andy Studebaker (hamstring) and offensive linemen Xavier Nixon (foot) and Hugh Thornton (knee).

The healthy scratches are guard Lance Louis and tackle Andrew McDonald.

(11/30/2014) The Colts listed tight end Weslye Saunders, linebacker Andy Studebaker, offensive lineman Lance Louis, offensive lineman Hugh Thornton, offensive lineman Xavier Nixon, tight end Dwayne Allen and defensive lineman Zach Kerr as inactive for Week 13 against the Panthers.

Three starters among Colts' Week 12 inactives

(11/23/2014) The Colts declared cornerback Greg Toler (concussion), tight end Dwayne Allen (ankle), right tackle Gosder Cherilus (shoulder), offensive lineman Lance Louis, center Khaled Holmes, defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles  and defensive tackle Zach Kerr inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Toler, Allen and Cherilus normally start for Indy. With Allen sidelined, Coby Fleener figures to be a major part of the passing game.


Colts list Week 11 inactives vs. Patriots

(11/16/2014) The Colts have listed the collowing players as inactive for Sunday night's matchup with the Patriots: linebackers Henoc Muamba (toe) and Victor Butler (hamstring), defensive linemen Arthur Jones (ankle) and Kelcy Quarles, guard Lance Louis, center Khaled Holmes and offensive tackle Xavier Nixon.

Jones had already been ruled out on the Friday injury report, while Muamba and Butler were two of the team's four linebackers to be listed as probable. Linebackers Josh McNary (ankle) and Erik Walden (quad) are active after earning probable tags, as is Reggie Wayne, who was on the injury report with a non-injury-related issue. Also active is offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus, who was listed as questionable to play with a groin injury.


Colts' Hugh Thornton benched for apparent disciplinary reasons

(11/4/2014) Colts coach Chuck Pagano benched starting right guard Hugh Thornton Monday against the Giants for apparent disciplinary reasons, according to The Indianapolis Star.

Thornton was not injured and practiced all week leading up to the game. However, he was sidelined when the game began and replaced by Lance Louis in the starting lineup.

"We wouldn't speak about it outside our facility," Pagano said when asked for details.

Pagano wouldn't reveal if Thornton's benching would last more than one game.

"Time will tell," he said.


Colts place only one injured on Week 8 inactive list

(10/26/2014) Veteran wideout Reggie Wayne (elbow) is the lone injured inactive for the Colts on Sunday. Hakeem Nicks is set to start in his place.

The healthy scratches are cornerback Jalil Brown, offensive linemen Lance Louis and Khaled Holmes and defensive linemen Montori Hughes and Kelcy Quarles.

(10/19/2014) Linebacker Darius Butler and defensive tackle Arthur Jones are the lone injured scratches for the Colts on Sunday. Both are dealing with ankle injuries.

The healthy scratches are linebacker Victor Butler, offensive linemen Jamon Meredith, Khaled Holmes and Lance Louis and defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles.


Report: Colts rule out starting guard Jack Mewhort

(10/1/2014) The Colts ruled out rookie left guard Jack Mewhort (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Ravens, reports the Indianapolis Star. The second-round pick started the first four games.

Indy will shift Lance Louis from right guard to left guard, with Hugh Thornton returning from an ankle injury to play right guard, the paper said.

(9/21/2014) The Colts have listed WR Da'Rick Rogers, LB Jerrell Freeman, LB Chris Carter, OL Lance Louis, C Khaled Holmes, OL Joe Reitz and DL Arthur Jones as inactive Week 3 against the Jaguars. 

Both Freeman and Jones had been ruled out prior to the final report being released. Holmes was considered probable, while Jones was listed as questionable. The other three players are healthy scratches.

Also cut were linebacker Michael Clay, wideouts Jeff Fuller, Julius Pruitt and Andrell Smith, defensive end Emeka Onyenekwu, linebackers Nathan Williams and David Hinds and fullback Jorvorskie Lane.
