Gary Barnidge does his part in Cleveland win Sunday

(9/14/2014) The loss of tight end Jordan Cameron to injury didn't hurt the Browns as much as it could have Sunday against New Orleans - thanks to backup Gary Barnidge.

Barnidge made one of the most critical catches of the game, a 10-yarder into Saints territory with 15 seconds remaining that led to the winning field goal. He finished by snagging all four of his targets for 41 yards. He will seek to further help his team's cause when it plays the Ravens in Week 3.


Several Browns add to effort in loss to Steelers

(9/7/2014) Several Browns skill position players made minor contributions Sunday in Pittsburgh. Among them was tight end Jim Dray, who caught two passes for 30 yards. Fellow tight end Gary Barnidge added a reception for 13 yards.

Starting wideout Miles Austin managed a disappointing two catches for 20 yards while rookie Taylor Gabriel pitched in with two snags for 13 yards.


Several pitch in for Browns impotent offense on Sunday

(12/22/2013) The meager Browns offense Sunday against the Jets featured several meager individual performances. Included among those contributors was wide receiver Josh Cooper, who caught his first four passes of the season for 26 yards.

Also catching two were tight end Gary Barnidge (23 yards) and wideout Brian Tyms (12 yards). Wide receiver Greg Little grabbed one pass for 4 yards before being removed for dropping one in the end zone.

Running back Chris Ogbonnaya rushed for 8 yards on one carry and caught a pass for 4 yards.

(12/15/2013) Browns tight end Gary Barnidge caught one pass for 17 yards in Sunday's 38-31 loss to the Bears. Barnidge was targeted just once in the game. 

The Browns play the Jets in Week 16. 


Gary Barnidge records second touchdown against Patriots

(12/8/2013) It's not much of a record, but Gary Barnidge did establish a personal best on Sunday. The Browns backup tight end caught his second touchdown pass of the season in the loss at New England.

Barnidge was wide open on a short pass and raced easily into the end zone for a 40-yard score to give his team a 12-0 lead early in the third quarter. He finished with two receptions for a season-high 49 yards.

The Browns host Chicago next Sunday.


Several Browns contribute offensively to Sunday victory

(11/3/2013) Minor contributions and one major one came from several Browns players Sunday. The major one was a 4-yard touchdown catch by tight end Gary Barnidge for his only reception. Running back Fozzy Whittaker showed some versatility by rushing for 11 yards on two carries and adding three catches for 13 yards.

Recently signed wideout Armanti Edwards  had a 10-yard catch while running back MarQueis Gray ran once for 1 yards. Backup quarterback Brandon Weeden entered when Jason Campbell was briefly removed with a rib injury and managed to complete one pass for minus-2 yards.

(10/27/2013) Browns tight end Gary Barnidge caught one pass for three yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Chiefs. It was Barnidge's sixth reception of the season. 

The Browns return home to host the Ravens in Week 9.

(10/13/2013) A two-catch effort might not seem like much, but it represented a season high for Browns tight end Gary Barnidge in the defeat to Detroit on Sunday. He totaled six yards.

Another Browns tight end making a contribution was MarQueis Gray, who added a 10-yard run.

(9/8/2013) Browns newcomer Tori Gurley, who has spent his career on various practice squads, caught his first NFL pass Sunday in a 23-10 loss to Miami. Tight end Gary Barnidge and running back Chris Ogbonnaya also contributed one catch apiece in the game.

All three could receive more chances next Sunday in Baltimore.

(8/16/2013) Browns tight end Gary Barnidge is sidelined with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder and will undergo an MRI on Friday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He will miss at least a few days of practice. Barnidge will struggle to find playing time behind emerging starter Jordan Cameron, who snagged two touchdown passes in the victory Thursday night against the Lions.

Barnindge is competing to be the backup to Jordan Cameron, but it is not clear whether this is expected to be an injury that lingers.

The report says Barnidge could make a run at the starting position if Jordan Cameron misses any time with minor injuries. At minicamp, offensive coordinator Norv Turner said, "The guy that people will be surprised about is Gary."

(3/13/2013) The Browns and tight end Gary Barnidge have agreed to a contract, placing another former player under Rob Chudzinski in Cleveland. The two worked together in Carolina. According to the agent of Barnidge, the player took the Browns deal because of the money and the chance to be "the guy" at tight end, according to the Charlotte Observer.
