Roddy White continues to outperform Julio Jones

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/23/2014) Though Julio Jones found the end zone finally Week 12 against Cleveland, giving him his first touchdown since Week 3 against Tampa Bay, he was once again outperformed by fellow Falcons wide receiver Roddy White -- not so much in terms of Fantasy points, since touchdowns have so much of the say in that, but certainly in terms of sustainable production. While Jones had five catches for 68 yards, White led the team with nine for 96.

And it's hardly a new development. Over the Falcons' last six games, Jones has averaged 5.3 catches for 71.3 yards. White, meanwhile, has averaged 6.7 catches for 74.8 yards -- and with the touchdowns to boot.

Maybe the comparison between Jones and White is pointless in Fantasy since few owners would honestly be deciding between the two, but the simple acknowledgment that White is the better play right now should change your perspective on both. If White is a No. 2 wide receiver in Fantasy, then Jones is no better than that. Likewise, if you'd never consider sitting Jones in Fantasy, then you probably shouldn't consider sitting White anymore either.

Falcons' Roddy White has nine-catch, 96-yard outing Week 12

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/23/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White couldn't extend his scoring streak to three games Sunday against the Browns. However, he still had a productive day, leading Atlanta in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (96).

He was targeted 10 times and his longest reception went 32 yards. The Falcons are back in action Week 13 vs. Arizona.

Falcons WR Roddy White finds the end zone Week 11

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/16/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White found the end zone for the fifth consecutive game against Carolina.

He came down with a 2-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to give his team a comfortable 16-3 lead. He also caught a 19-yard catch in the second quarter for his longest gain of the afternoon. He caught eight of 12 targets for a team-high 75 yards in a 19-17 victory.

He has 66-plus yards each of the past four games. He has 564 receiving yards this season. He'll look to keep rolling Week 12 against the Browns.

Roddy White keeps on rolling

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/16/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is still riding high, after scoring his third touchdown in four games in Week 11 against the Panthers.

White led the team with eight receptions for 75 yards to go along with his score, giving him at least 10 Fantasy points in three of the last four games as a result. He has emerged yet again as a go-to target near the end zone, and is averaging 78.3 yards per game over the last four, compared to just 50.6 through his first five.

White got off to a slow start to the season, but appears to have found his way. The Atlanta offense has not been quite as explosive as predicted, but White is still finding ways to turn in a solid season, and should be considered a solid Fantasy option down the stretch.

Roddy White on a nice three-game roll

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/9/2014) Falcons wideout Roddy White put together a third straight solid performance Week 10, catching all six of his targets for 72 yards and a touchdown at Tampa Bay. In his last three outings, White has 20 receptions for 238 yards and two scores.

White caught four passes for 41 yards on Atlanta's opening drive, then hauled in a 5-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

White visits Carolina in Week 11.

Roddy White gets his chance against Buccaneers

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/6/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who was injured for the team's previous meeting with the Buccaneers in Week 3 -- a 56-14 blowout in which anyone of any real significance contributed in Fantasy -- will get his chance to feast on the favorable matchup Week 10 at Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers rank 31st against the pass, allowing 285.3 yards per game, and have given up the most Fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Of course, the bigger issue for White than the matchup is his quarterback's ability to get him the ball with the Falcons basically working with a second-string offensive line, but the Buccaneers defense falls short in all aspects, including pass rush.

Besides, Ryan's need to get rid of the ball sooner seems to have helped White. He has averaged 83.0 yards with a touchdown over the last two games compared to Julio Jones' 57.0 yards with no touchdowns.

Dave Richard ranks White only 31st among wide receivers for this week, but I'm siding with Jamey Eisenberg, who ranks him 21st. In 12-team leagues, you're probably starting him.

Falcons WR Roddy White leads the way with 66 yards in Week 8

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/26/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was held out of the end zone in Sunday's defeat to the Lions in Week 8.

White got off to a fast start, hauling a 24-yard catch and a 12-yard catch on the opening drive. He led the way with a productive performance, catching five of six targets for 66 yards in a 22-21 defeat. He has 166 yards and a touchdown over his last two games.

The Falcons are on a bye Week 9 before returning Week 10 at Tampa Bay.

Falcons WR Roddy White trying to eliminate the drops

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/21/2014) Falcons wideout Roddy White remains down on his play despite catching nine passes for 100 yards and a touchdown Week 7, reports ESPN.com. He has dropped five passes this year, tied for fourth-most in the NFL.

"Mentally, I feel like I'm in the game plan. Mentally, I feel prepared for the games. It's just ... I don't know what it is," he told the website. "I'm not finishing plays. I'm not doing what I'm supposed to do."

White, who turns 33 next month, vowed to fix the problem. And he said injuries are not a factor.

"It's frustrating me," he said. "I'll figure it out, though. I will figure it out."

Roddy White not finished yet

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/19/2014) Though he's had a harder time staying involved in a struggling and crowded Falcons passing attack, wide receiver Roddy White showed he's still in quarterback Matt Ryan's sights Week 7 at Baltimore, leading the team in every relevant receiving category. His 15 targets were nearly twice as many as Julio Jones' eight, and he also set season highs with nine catches for 100 yards. He even scored a touchdown -- his third of the season -- on a 4-yard toss from Ryan in the fourth quarter.

It was the second time this season that he was far and away the Falcons' most targeted receiver, the other being Week 4 at Minnesota when he was targeted 14 times. His problem is consistency. In the two games in between, he was targeted a total of 10 times.

With the Falcons offensive line depleted and their running game not much of a threat, the Falcons passing attack may not be prolific enough to sustain both White and Jones. And more often than not, the winner will be Jones.

But White showed with this performance that he's still enough of a priority to start more weeks than not. If you have depth at wide receiver, he may not always be your first choice to start, but if he's all you have, you may not have much cause to upgrade either.

Falcons WR Roddy White eclipses 100 yards in Week 7 loss

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White had his best game of the season during a losing effort Week 7 at Baltimore. White, who was targeted a team-high 15 times, finished with nine catches for 100 yards and one touchdown during a 29-7 loss.

White had his first 100-yard game since Week 16 last season. It was his 39th career 100-yard game, including the playoffs.

White didn't have more than 73 receiving yards in a game this season heading into Sunday. He has three touchdowns in six games.

The Falcons are back in action Week 8 vs. Detroit.

Still waiting to trust Roddy White

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/17/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has been a major disappointment this season, and at this point Fantasy owners need him to show he can turn things around before relying on him, even with a solid matchup on the way in Week 7 against the Ravens.

White has failed to reach double digits in three of the team's five games, and does not yet have a 100-yard game this season. He has a chance to change that in Week 7 against a Ravens defense that has struggled to corral opposing wide receivers this season, but that is no guarantee. After all, he has just held in check by a Bears pass defense that had allowed seven receiving touchdowns to wide receivers in its previous four games.

Even in an injury-plagued 2013 campaign, White was more productive than this, so we aren't quite ready to write him off just yet. However, he has to have a make-good game before Fantasy owners want to trust him, so take a wait-and-see approach with White in Week 7. Consider him just a low-end starter.

Falcons WR Roddy White disappointed in 2014 performance

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/16/2014) Drops and uncharacteristically poor production have plagued Falcons usually prolific wideout Roddy White this season. He understands the importance of turning it around.

"I've gotten off to a really slow start," he admitted to ESPN.com. "Not one of my favorable years that I'm having. But I've got to turn my game around for our team to start playing better. I'm a leader on this team, and I haven't been going out there and playing like Roddy White football. I've got to get back to just being myself - go out there and just cut it loose - and whatever happens, happens."

White has just 19 receptions for 253 yards in five games and is on pace for his worst season as a starter. He has also three drops among the 39 passes thrown in his direction.

Falcons WR Roddy White limited to 40 yards in Week 6 loss

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10/12/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White caught three of his six targets for just 40 yards in his team's 27-13 loss to the Bears in Week 6.

White has yet to catch more than five passes in a game this year, and he was done in by an uneven performance by the Falcons offense across the board as quarterback Matt Ryan completed just more than half of his attempts while the running game picked up just 42 yards on 13 carries. White has totaled 18 catches, 253 yards and two touchdowns in five games. He'll attempt to pick up the pace when he faces the Ravens in Week 7.

Julio Jones overshadows Roddy White

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/5/2014) Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was so focused on getting the ball to wide receiver Julio Jones that Roddy White became an afterthought Week 5 at the Giants. He was targeted just four times, catching two passes for 26 yards.

Jones, meanwhile, was targeted 16 times, one off his career high, catching 11 passes for 105 yards. While Jones now has three games of 100 yards or more (and five of 80 or more), White has yet to go for more than 73 in a game.

He did get 14 targets just last week at Minnesota, though, so to say he's a forgotten man in the Falcons passing game wouldn't be entirely true. But it's becoming more and more clear now that both players are healthy again that White is playing second fiddle to Jones.

And that makes him less than an every-week starter, maybe even less than a No. 2 wide receiver, in Fantasy.

Falcons WR Roddy White fails to record TD in Week 5 loss

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/5/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White vowed to score Week 5 at N.Y. Giants after having a few drops in a Week 4 loss against the Vikings. Unfortunately, White wasn't able to deliver on his promise, as he was held to just two catches for 26 yards and no touchdowns in a 30-20 loss Sunday.

White was targeted four times and his longest reception went 22 yards. He hasn't had more than 73 receiving yards in a game this season.

The Falcons are back in action Week 6 vs. Chicago.

Falcons WR Roddy White: 'I will score this weekend'

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/3/2014) Falcons premier wideout Roddy White was not satisfied with his Week 4 performance despite having caught four passes for 73 yards and a touchdown - and he plans on visiting the end zone with the ball this Sunday against the Giants for the first time in his career.

"I have to play better," White told ESPN. "I had two drops in that game [against the Vikings]. ... I will score this weekend."

White, who has not scored against the Giants in five career opportunities, has 14 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns in three games this year. His numbers were significantly down in 2013 after six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Roddy White hauls in a score Week 4

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White picked up a score Week 4.

White caught four passes for 73 yards during the contest. He was targeted a team-high 14 times during the game. White wasted no time finding the end zone. On his second reception, White benefitted from a blown coverage. He wound up wide open for the 24 yard strike. Though the Falcons would try to involve White, he didn't make his third catch until late in the third quarter.

White will look for more Week 5 against the Giants.

Two Falcons wideouts good to go

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2014) The Falcons should have two of their wideouts ready for Week 4.

Both Roddy White and Devin Hester are active for the contest. Both players entered considered probable, so the moves shouldn't come as a surprise.

Roddy White among notable probables for Falcons in Week 4

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/26/2014) What was anticipated has been made official Friday morning by Mike Smith - Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is set to start Sunday in Minnesota.

Smith told 92.9 The Game that White will "absolutely" play against the Vikings. White missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury after snagging 10 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in the first two games combined.

Two injured Falcons WRs practice in full, one limited

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/24/2014) Falcons wide receivers Devin Hester (ankle) and Harry Douglas (foot) were full participants in practice Wednesday. Wide receiver Roddy White, who missed Week 3 due to a hamstring injury, was limited.

"We anticipate tomorrow that Roddy's workload is going to go up," coach Mike Smith said, per ESPN. "That's going to depend on how he feels and recovers from today. I'm sure you've noticed but basically on Wednesdays, we've held him back when he's been healthy as well.

"I keep telling him a lot of it is going to depend on the surface that we're playing on in terms of the number of snaps that he has. ... It was good to have Roddy back out there to participate."

Four Falcons players sit out practice Monday

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/22/2014) Falcons wide receiver Roddy White (hamstring), wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot), running back Antone Smith and wide receiver Devin Hester sat out practice Monday. Smith has a right hamstring injury, according to ESPN, but it is uncertain why Hester was held out.
