Giants reveal Week 14 inactives

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12/8/2013) The Giants have ruled the following players inactive for Sunday's contest against the Chargers in Week 14: quarterback Ryan Nassib, defensive back Corey Webster, running back Brandon Jacobs, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, linebacker Allen Bradford, tight end Adrien Robinson and offensive lineman Stephen Goodin.

Giants backup RBs deep league options if healthy

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/5/2013) Giants running backs Peyton Hillis and Brandon Jacobs have rotated inactive weeks since Andre Brown's return -- Hillis was out Weeks 11 and 12, Jacobs was out 10 and 13. But when the two have played, they've been fairly helpful to deeper league (16-plus teams) owners.

Hillis had 45 rushing yards in Week 13 against Washington and 21 in Week 10 against Oakland before fumbling and giving way to Brown; Jacobs ran for 75 in Week 12 and scored a touchdown in Week 11.

Neither should be on rosters of standard-sized leagues, outside of handcuffs to Brown. But in deeper leagues, where a touchdown could be a boon for a Fantasy owner, the active back here may have some value on a weekly basis.

Giants list Week 13 inactives

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(12/1/2013) The Giants listed these players as inactive for the game at Washington: defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder), cornerback Corey Webster (ankle), running back Brandon Jacobs (knee), cornerback Trumaine McBride (groin), guard Stephen Goodin, tight end Adrien Robinson and quarterback Ryan Nassib.

Four injured Giants ready to go

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/17/2013) As expected, the following injured players we're ruled active for the Giants in Week 11 against the Packers: tight end Bear Pascoe (ankle), defensive back Terrell Thomas (knee), running back Brandon Jacobs (hamstring, knee) and defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder).

Giants coach has 'set plan' for running backs Week 10

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/6/2013) With running backs Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and Andre Brown (leg) expected to join the mix for playing time Week 10 vs. Oakland, the Giants are going to have a crowded backfield, which has featured Peyton Hillis and Michael Cox in recent weeks. Giants coach Tom Coughlin has an idea on how he will use his running backs, but he's not telling.

“There will be a set plan,” Coughlin said Wednesday.

The Star-Ledger expects Hillis to be the primary back Sunday, with Jacobs and Brown being sprinkled into the running game. Brown, who has been out all season, is the real wild card.

Brown said there will be a special package of plays installed for him, but it doesn't appear Coughlin is ready to give Brown a heavy workload in his first game back.

"He’s ready to help," Coughlin said. "But there is a big difference between game day and practice. All I think about is how he played a year ago. I’m looking forward to the return of that player, quite frankly."

Brandon Jacobs signing good news for David Wilson

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/10/2013) As a David Wilson owner in a number of my Fantasy leagues, I'm actually thrilled the Giants signed Brandon Jacobs . The 31-year-old rusher hasn't been effective in years and might only be a part of the roster because of his knowledge of the offense, nothing more.

This isn't going to be a case of "thunder and lightning," not unless Jacobs is in impeccable shape (and if he were he wouldn't have been out of football). Instead, this is the Giants likely limiting some of Wilson's reps but ultimately sticking with him because of his superior skills. Jacobs and fellow big bruiser Da'Rel Scott might fight over some carries but they shouldn't seriously impact Wilson's work.

The only guy who will cost Wilson playing time is actually Wilson himself. If he keeps fumbling, the Giants won't be able to trust him. If he hangs on to the football, good things will happen to him. That's why he's not only going to stay on my Fantasy teams but also be active going forward, including this week against the Broncos. I have no plans to add Brandon Jacobs.
