We wouldn't start him in IDP formats at this time.

News: Redskins DB Oshiomogho Atogwe (knee) has been ruled inactive for the Week 7 game at Carolina. Atogwe could not practice during the week due to his knee injury. The Redskins started Reed Doughty in his place.
Analysis: It has been one injury after the other for Atogwe in 2011, which has resulted in his slow start to the season statistically. We know Atogwe can be a viable Fantasy DB, but lower expectations while he is banged up. And you might need to use a healthier alternative Week 7.

Atogwe was able to practice for most of the week and was not limited against the Eagles as he finished with his first sack of the season as well as an interception. Atogwe added eight tackles and a pass defended in the game.
Analysis: After recording 10 interceptions in the past three seasons with St. Louis, Atogwe finally forced his first turnover in the Week 6 game. Analysis: After recording 10 interceptions in the past three seasons with St. Louis, Atogwe has yet to force a turnover this season. Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said Atogwe's injured hamstring has likely affected his play in the early part of the season. "He's finally breaking through that," Haslett said. "He's looking a lot better." Fantasy owners should consider Atogwe a low-end option in IDP formats when healthy.
News: Redskins DB Oshiomogho Atogwe hasn't been statistically strong through the first four games of the season, totaling 17 tackles, one pass breakup and has forced no turnovers. However, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett isn't concerned as he believes Atogwe's slow start was because of a strained hamstring he dealt with in the preseason. I think O.J. was struggling, I would say, with his hamstring and hes been fighting through it, Haslett said Thursday. So far this week, I think were finally breaking through it and hes looking a lot better to me. Hes not so much concerned with the hamstring, just playing now.
Analysis: Atogwe said he is getting better every day, so perhaps he will return to the playmaking safety we know he can be. Atogwe has potential, but he remains a low-end Fantasy DB until further notice.

News: Redskins DB Oshiomogho Atogwe (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Giants. He was limited in practice all week, but head coach Mike Shanahan said earlier in the week Atogwe is expected to play against New York.
Analysis: With safety LaRon Landry already out Week 1, the Redskins can't afford to be down another starting safety, so Atogwe should make his Redskins regular-season debut on Sunday. Atogwe hasn't had less than 70 tackles the last five seasons, but he has just five interceptions total in his last two seasons. He is more of a No. 2 Fantasy DB when healthy.
News: Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said FS Oshiomogho Atogwe practiced Monday and will play Sunday vs. the New York Giants. Atogwe missed three games in the preseason, including the finale, because of a pulled hamstring.
Analysis: Atogwe had some solid seasons in St. Louis, and the Redskins are hoping he can bring the momentum to their up-and-down defensive unit. News: Redskins safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, who dealt with a hamstring injury for a good chunk of camp, looked better while playing in Thursday's game against the Ravens. He notched a pair of tackles in the loss and defended the pass well.

News:The Washington Post reports Sunday that new Redskins safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, who didn't play in Friday's preseason opener, remains out of action with a hamstring injury. Coach Mike Shanahan still has no clear timetable for his return. Really dont know. Day by day, Shanahan said. Ill let you guys know when hes ready to go. I dont think it will be too long.
Analysis: Atogwe should be back for the start of the regular season without issue, but until he is out there he will remain a question mark on a new team. The veteran wants to be on the field, but he won't rush back. Hamstrings are tricky, he said. You never want to rush them, never want to come back too early because then it can be a nagging injury all season. We want to make sure we correct it now so come Sept. 11 and throughout, were ready to roll. Atogwe is one of the more underrated players in the NFL on the defensive side on the ball, and we like him as a solid DB option in IDP leagues worth a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: The Redskins announced Thursday that they have signed safety Oshiomogho Atogwe. The deal is reportedly worth five years for $26 million. Atogwe spent his previous six NFL seasons with the Rams after being selected in the third round (No. 66 overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He has played in 88 career games, with 75 starts, and recorded 470 tackles, 22 interceptions, 22 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and five sacks. Atogwes combined 44 forced fumbles and interceptions since the start of 2006 are the most in the NFL, while his interception total over that span is tied for the eighth-most in the NFL.
Analysis: Atogwe should help improve the Redskins defense, and he remains a quality DB in all IDP leagues heading into 2011. Plan on drafting Atogwe with a late-round pick in the majority of formats.
News: It has been three days since his contract was terminated by the Rams, and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe is on the move. Atogwe, who was released Friday because the team wouldn't pay an $8 million bonus, is scheduled to visit Monday with Washington. The Redskins' defensive coordinator is Jim Haslett, who was with the Rams from 2006-08. "My agent has been talking to a few teams and we have discussed the possibility of going to different places. I'll meet with them (Redskins) and see what's up," Atogwe said.
Analysis: Atogwe has also received interest from the Bills but hasn't ruled out re-signing with the Rams. The 29-year-old also said a team's defensive system could play a role in where he signs as he prefers to play free safety rather than strong safety, which he did quite frequently last season in St. Louis. Fantasy owners should continue to keep an eye on the situation to see where he ends up. Atogwe had three interceptions and forced two fumbles last season while finishing with 73 tackles. Consider him a No.2 or No. 3 Fantasy DB heading into 2011.
News: St. Louis released DB Oshiomogho Atogwe late Friday instead of paying him an $8 million roster bonus he was due to receive Monday. "This is a decision we have made at this time with O.J.," Rams general manager Billy Devaney said. "We will continue to explore all of our options at the safety position like we will with every other position on our football team."
Analysis: Atogwe was St. Louis' defensive captain in 2010 and has forced the most turnovers in the NFL since 2006. The 29-year-old had three interceptions and forced two fumbles last season while finishing with 73 tackles. His release was strictly a cost-cutting measure by the Rams, who are now off the hook for his $8 million roster bonus. The talented Atogwe will likely sign with another for the 2011 season and should be viewed as a mid-range option in IDP leagues for next year.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe signed a five-year, $32 million contract last June, but can still be released in February, if the team doesnt want to pay an $8 million roster bonus. I want to be back, Atogwe said. However we can make that work, well talk about it.
Analysis: Atogwe made it through a full slate of games in 2010 without any setbacks with injuries. He finished with 73 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions. He is still playing at a high level, but his release could be a business decision. We expect Atogwe to start for an NFL team next season, but he will be more of a No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy DB.
News: St. Louis safety Oshiomogho Atogwe registered two tackles in the Rams' 16-6 loss at Seattle in Week 17. Atogwe finished the season with 73 tackles and three interceptions in his sixth season with St. Louis.

News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe turned in another solid effort in Week 14 against the Saints. Atogwe finished with seven tackles, five solo in the 31-13 loss.
Analysis: Atogwe has now recorded at least six tackles in his last three games for the Rams. He has a knack for always being around the football and has been productive, despite playing with a sore shoulder. Continue to view him as a viable Fantasy DB in most IDP formats heading into Week 15 against the Chiefs.
News: Rams S Oshiomogho Atogwe has officially been ruled active for Week 14 against the Saints. Atogwe was able to practice in full on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday with a sore shoulder.

News: St. Louis DB Oshiomogho Atogwe made a team-high six tackles in Week 12 against Denver. He would add a defended pass and a forced fumble. After a 9-yard run by Knowshon Moreno, Atogwe would pop the ball out causing the fumble.
Analysis: Atogwe had been struggling making an impact for the Rams the past few weeks, but definitely turned things around in Week 12. He has 47 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles on the season. Fantasy owners should view him as a viable DB option in all IDP leagues for Week 13, when the Rams face the Cardinals.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe had a decent game in Week 11 against the Falcons missed some time on the field. He missed time with cramps and finished with three tackles and a pass defended in the 34-17 loss.
Analysis: Atogwe hasn't recorded more than three tackles in each of his last three games but has a sack, one interception and four passes defended over that span. He missed time for the second straight game in Week 11 so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on him to make sure he is not dealing with an undisclosed injury. He remains one of the more productive Fantasy DB options in the league so keep Atogwe active in most IDP formats heading into Week 12 against the Broncos.

Analysis: Atogwe had his lowest tackle total of the year in Week 10 but he left the game briefly due to an injury. Analysis: Atogwe had his lowest tackle effort in a few weeks but picked up his second interception and first sack of the season against the Panthers. He's definitely getting better with each game and has become a solid start in Fantasy IDP leagues. That said, keep him benched for Week 9 as the Rams are on bye. They return Week 10 at San Francisco.

Analysis: Atogwe has no interceptions in five games and his interception totals have been disappointing since he had 13 in two seasons (2007-08). Perhaps his past production is why his Fantasy ownership is still at 43 percent. Atogwe is a low-end Fantasy start until he racks up some impressive numbers.

The Rams take on the Seahawks in Week 4.

He now ha s15 tackles on the year and should be able to keep his stats up as long as he is healthy. Atogwe is a solid safety that can play both the run and pass. Analysis: Atogwe had a strong showing in Week 1 and helped in both facets of the defense. He should finish the season near the 74 tackles and two interceptions he put up a year ago, especially after resigning with St. Louis in the offseason. Fantasy owners should continue to view Atogwe as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy DB for Week 2 against the Raiders.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe has totaled seven tackles in the preseason after signing a multi-year deal in the offseason. Atogwe, who is coming off a major shoulder injury, is just looking to get back on track in 2010. "Any time you get complacent or comfortable, that's when you'll find a younger player ready to take your spot," he said. "I've been blessed to play this game. I'm going to put my whole heart into it and get the most out of it and be the best player I can be. That takes work. It's nothing I'm afraid of or am going to shy away from. I enjoy the work. I enjoy the process."
Analysis: Even though Atogwe signed a five-year deal, the Rams could opt out of the contract after one year, especially since Atogwe is a due an $8 million roster bonus in February. When healthy, Atogwe is a solid safety that can play both the run and pass. Look to him as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy DB heading into the season.
News: The Rams and free-agent safety Oshiomogho Atogwe have agreed on a multi-way deal, keeping the veteran in St. Louis. In 12 games last season Atogwe finished second on the team with 82 tackles (38 solo), a sack, two interceptions, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He ended the year on injured reserve with a shoulder injury but should be OK for the start of training camp. "It's really important to stay here," said Atogwe. "That was one of the things I was thinking about through this process is my purpose with the Rams. I have been here through a lot of the hard times and I believe that was to build the resolve within me, build the resolve within my teammates so when the promised land arrives, we'd be able to enjoy it and know how to be thankful for it."
Analysis: Atogwe could have moved on to another squad, but by staying with the Rams he keeps himself in a position to rack up a lot of tackles and other stats. That's great news for Fantasy owners. Keep Atogwe tabbed as a No. 1 DB worth a mid-round pick in drafts.

Spagnuolo also said he wants to see Atogwe back with the club. "I love O.J. The process took us to this point, but it's ongoing," Spagnuolo said. "We're still working at it and very hopeful." In Atogwe's absence, Craig Dahl has assumed the starting role at free safety. Dahl is entering his fourth year. "He's experienced in the system, knows it mentally and works his butt off," Spagnuolo said.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Atogwe this offseason and where he ends up playing. He should be considered a solid DB in IDP leagues and is worth a late-round pick no matter where he signs, especially in formats where tackles count.
News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe became an unrestricted free agent late Tuesday night. Atogwe is free to negotiate with other NFL teams because he and the Rams couldn't reach agreement on a multiyear deal. The club then declined to sign Atogwe to a one-year tender for $6,976,000 his 2009 salary plus 10 percent. Although the Rams no longer have exclusive rights to him, they still could sign Atogwe, and league sources indicated that talks would continue.
Analysis: Coming off surgery for a shoulder injury that sidelined him for the last four games of the 2009 season, Atogwe did not participate in the team's offseason conditioning program. He also has not been present during OTA workouts. Despite missing the last four games of last season, Atogwe finished as the team's second-leading tackler, with 84. He had two interceptions, a sack and two forced fumbles. Keep an eye on what happens with Atogwe this offseason and where he ends up playing. He should be considered a solid DB in IDP leagues and is worth a late-round pick, especially in formats where tackles count.
News: The NFL Network reports that Rams safety Oshiomogho Atogwe will not sign his tender offer. That means that Atogwe likely will leave St. Louis this offseason. The report states that the key date in the whole scenario is June 1. The Rams continue to hold exclusive negotiating rights with Atogwe and can try to sign him to a long-term deal. On June 1, because the Rams tendered Atogwe at $1.226 million (significantly less than his 2009 salary), they hold the option of extending an offer at 110 percent of his salary (nearly $7 million) to retain his rights or releasing him to become an unrestricted free agent. Atogwe, who played under a $6.3 million franchise tag in 2009, ended the season by missing the final four games with a shoulder injury.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Atogwe this offseason and where he ends up playing. He should be considered a solid DB in IDP leagues and is worth a late-round pick, especially in formats where tackles count.

Atogwe hasn't ruled out finishing the year while wearing a brace. He said Monday that he planned to speak with his agent and get other medical opinions. Atogwe is among the team's leading tacklers and forced a fumble in Sunday's loss to the Bears before being hurt near the end of the first half.

News: Rams LB James Laurinaitis (nine tackles, sack), RB Oshiomogho Atogwe (nine tackles), LB Paris Lenon (three tackles, forced fumble) and DB Justin King (tackle, fumble recovery) all played well in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.
Analysis: Laurinaitis is having a stellar rookie season and ranks in the top 10 in tackles among linebackers. He is a must-start elite option in IDP leagues. Atogwe is also a solid starting choice, while King and Lenon have no Fantasy value.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe (seven tackles), DL C.J. Ah You (seven tackles), DB Ronald Bartell (six tackles), DB Bradley Fletcher (five tackles) and LB James Laurinaitis (four tackles) led the way defensively in a Week 7 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Atogwe and Laurinaitis are Fantasy studs at their respective positions in IDP play, while the other three are not worth using in Week 8 at Detroit.
News: St. Louis DB Oshiomogho Atogwe had 10 tackles on Sunday in the team's Week 6 game at Jacksonville. It was his highest tackle total of the season.
Analysis: Atogwe now has 40 tackles so far this season through six games and has an interception to boot. He is a consistent taclling presence and worth using in most IDP formats.
News: Rams DB Craig Dahl (seven tackles, sack) and DB Oshiomogho Atogwe (six tackles, sack) had nice performances in a Week 5 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Otogwe is a solid starting LB in all IDP Fantasy formats, while Dahl isn't worth worrying about heading into Week 6 at Jacksonville.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon led the team in tackles on Sunday of Week 2 against the Redskins. Witherspoon amassed 10 total tackles. Oshiomogho Atogwe added 8 tackles as did James Laurinaitis.
Analysis: Witherspoon already has 16 tackles on the season after two games and that is a solid number. He can be used as a No. 2 Fantasy LB in IDP leagues. Atogwe also has 16 total tackles and an interception. He can be used as a No. 1 DB Week 3 against the Packers. Laurinaitis already has 22 tackles on the season and is a No. 3 IDP option most weeks.
News: St. Louis DB Oshiomogho Atogwe had a solid first game against the Seahawks in their Week 1 matchup. He tied for the second-most tackles on the team and also intercepted a Matt Hasselbeck pass in the game.
Analysis: Atogwe was given the Rams' franchise tag in the offseason, something that he says has motivated him. He played like a franchise Fantasy player in the team's first game against Seattle. We'll see how Atogwe continues to be used by defensive mastermind Steve Spagnuolo, but for now keep using him as a must-own Fantasy DB in Week 2 against the Redskins.
News: Being saddled with the franchise tag did not rub St. Louis Rams free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe the wrong way. "That meant a lot to me," Atogwe said Sunday after practice at Rams Park. "It was an honor, to say the least, to be that highly thought of by the organization and to be put among the top in your position in this league." Atogwe signed the $6.3 million franchise tender July 15 and reported on time to camp. He did not miss any minicamps even though he was not under contract. That impressed rookie coach Steve Spagnuolo, who thought Atogwe handled the franchise tag situation well. "I've told him a number of times how classy I think he has handled everything," Spagnuolo said. "That's a quality person right there. Forget about the football talent. "And, I sensed that the first time when I first got here, I visited with him in my office, and you could see that right away."
Analysis: Work is important to Atogwe. After a practice that lasted just over two hours, Atogwe went with his teammates to sign autographs and take photographs with the fans. Sunday was the last open practice for fans. Then Atogwe caught balls off the JUGS machine before doing some conditioning exercises. "I don't mind the hard work," Atogwe said. "I've been blessed to play this game and it's by God's grace that I'm able to work and I'll do that for Him." His body of work with the Rams, who drafted him in the third round in 2005, is impressive. He has emerged as one of the league's top defensive talents. Last season, Atogwe made a career-high total of 109 tackles. He led the team in interceptions with five and forced fumbles with eight. Atogwe was voted by his teammates as Rams MVP. That followed a 2007 season in which Atogwe showed he was a ballhawk. He led the NFC with eight interceptions, including one off Arizona's Kurt Warner he returned 52 yards for his lone touchdown. It will be interesting to see how Atogwe continues to play in 2009, his first under the defensive mastermind Spagnuolo. Atogwe remains a must-own Fantasy DB.
News: The St. Louis Rams and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe have agreed to a one-year contract. Terms were not disclosed Wednesday. The 28-year-old Atogwe was designated as a non-exclusive franchise player in February. Atogwe led the NFL with eight interceptions in 2007. Last season, he started all 16 games at free safety for the third straight season and had a career-high 109 tackles. He also led St. Louis with five interceptions, eight forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Analysis: This is good news because Atogwe will still be motivated to earn a new contract. We view Atogwe as a solid DB in IDP leagues, and he's worth drafting as a top player at his position this year.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe had an interception -- his fifth -- and a fumble recovery Week 16 against the 49ers. He also had seven solo tackles.
Analysis: Atogwe's interception ended a seven-game drought. He remains a decent DB for Fantasy purposes, but his inconsistencies put him on the lower end of No. 1 options.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe led his team with a season-high nine tackles in a Week 13 loss to Miami. He also forced a fumble.
Analysis: Atogwe is a fine DB, but hasn't recorded an interception in his last six games after picking up four INTs in his first seven games. He remains a solid No. 1 DB in all all IDP Fantasy leagues.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe (thigh), DT Adam Carriker (ankle), LB Chris Chamberlain (illness) and DE Leonard Little (hamstring) are probable for Week 10 at the Jets.
Analysis: Of these defenders, only Atogwe and Little are worthwhile Fantasy options -- especially Atogwe, who has done well this season. Consider them decent picks for Week 10 against the Jets.
News: Cardinals DB O.J. Otogwe, who made six tackles in a Week 9 loss to the Cardinals, saw his two-game interception streak end.
Analysis: Atogwe is playing superbly right now and will get to try and pick off Brett Favre in Week 10. Continue to start him in all formats.
News: Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe made his fourth interception in his last three games when he picked off Matt Cassel in a Week 8 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Atogwe is on fire right now and remains a solid start in all IDP Fantasy formats for Week 9 vs. Arizona.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 7 vs. Dallas include: DB O.J. Atogwe (three solo tackles, two interceptions), DL Leonard Little (four total tackles, 1.5 sacks, forced fumble), LB Will Witherspoon (three solo tackles, interception) and DL James Hall (three total tackles, 1.5 sacks).
Analysis: Of these defenders, Atogwe, Little and Witherspoon are worth using in IDP league play. The Rams play at the Patriots in Week 8.
News: St. Louis DB O.J. Atogwe was in the right place at the right time in Week 6. Just before halftime, the Redskins were driving in the red zone. QB Jason Campbell's pass was deflected and caught by offensive lineman Pete Kendall. Kendall fumbled and Atogwe scooped it up and took it 85 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: Atogwe had not gotten off to a very solid start this season along with the rest of the Rams defense. But he has been too productive the last two years to give up on and this performance shows why. Continue to use him in IDP leagues.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe recorded three tackles and an interception in Week 4 vs. Buffalo.
Analysis: Atogwe had not gotten off to a very solid start this season along with the rest of the Rams defense. But he has been too productive the last two years to give up on and this performance shows why. Continue to use him in IDP leagues.
News: Rams LB Will Witherspoon and rookie DE Chris Long led their team with seven tackles each in a Week 3 loss to the Seahawks. Also contributing were DL Adam Carriker (six tackles), DB Tye Hill (six tackles), DB Corey Chavous (six tackles) and DB O.J. Atogwe (six tackles).
Analysis: Witherspoon and Atogwe are solid No. 1 LBs in all IDP formats, while Long is a promising rookie worth using as a bye-week replacement. The rest of these guys have little or no Fantasy value. St. Louis hosts Buffalo in Week 4.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe finished with just one tackle in Week 2 against the Giants. He did not get credited with any passes defended.
Analysis: Atogwe has not gotten off to a very solid start this season along with the rest of the Rams defense. But he has been too productive the last two years to give up on after just two weeks.
News: One bright spot in the Rams' secondary in 2007 was DB O.J. Atogwe, who totaled 75 tackles (66 solo) with eight interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown) and 12 passes defensed. He finished as a top-10 Fantasy DB in standard-scoring leagues that reward tackles. Better yet (for him), Atogwe will be a restricted free agent this offseason.
Analysis: Look for Atogwe to get paid to stay with the Rams for at least one more season. As far as Fantasy DBs go, he's not bad so long as he keeps up the great passing D stats. Think of him as a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 option in IDP leagues this summer, worth a middle- to late-round pick in all formats.
News: Oshiomogho "O.J." Atogwe picked a perfect time to record his best season as a pro. Atogwe was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal year for the St. Louis Rams. The free safety, now a restricted free agent, started all 16 games and finished with 75 tackles and an NFC-best eight interceptions. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Atogwe finished with the most interceptions by a Rams player since Dexter McCleon intercepted eight passes in 2000. The 26-year-old is in his third season out of Stanford. Atogwe said he would like to return to St. Louis but his contract situation is not something he is going to worry about in the offseason. "My job is to come out here and work hard and play," he said. "That all takes care of itself. It's not even a concern of mine. It's not something I stress about because what's going to happen is going to happen. I played well this year. I held up to my end of the bargain."
Analysis: Atogwe should receive plenty of attention this offseason (the Rams may be forced to use a first-round tender on him). Figure Atogwe to be a low-end No. 2 Fantasy DB in 2008.
News: Oshiomogho "O.J." Atogwe picked a perfect time to record his best season as a pro. Atogwe was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal year for the St. Louis Rams, who wrapped up a disappointing 3-13 season with a 48-19 loss at Arizona on Sunday. The free safety, now a restricted free agent, started all 16 games and finished with 75 tackles and an NFC-best eight interceptions. "It's a great honor to lead the NFC in interceptions," Atogwe said Monday. "There are a lot of good players in the NFC. I'm truly blessed." Atogwe said he would like to return to St. Louis but his contract situation is not something he is going to worry about in the offseason. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Atogwe finished with the most interceptions by a Rams player since Dexter McCleon intercepted eight passes in 2000. The 26-year-old is in his third season out of Stanford.
Analysis: Atogwe ended his season on a high note in the season finale. He picked off a Kurt Warner pass late in the third quarter and returned it 52 yards for a touchdown. "It was a good game. I made some plays, but we lost, so I don't take a lot of pleasure in it," Atogwe said. "It was my first pick-6 (interception returned for a touchdown) since high school. It was definitely a long time coming. It's something I'll cherish." Look for Atogwe to be a solid No. 3 DB in IDP leagues for 2008.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had four tackles and two interceptions in Week 15 vs. Green Bay.
Analysis: Atogwe is having a career season with 69 tackles and seven interceptions after turning in a breakout performance in 2006. He is one of the better defensive backs in the NFL that you never heard of and a decent low-end Fantasy DB when healthy.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe (groin) went through limited practice reps Wednesday, but returned to a full routine Thursday and was removed from the practice report as the team prepares for Week 15 vs. Green Bay. Atogwe had an interception in four straight games before that streak ended Week 14 against the Bengals.
Analysis: Atogwe is having a career season with 65 tackles and five interceptions after turning in a breakout performance in 2006. He is one of the better defensive backs in the NFL that you never heard of and a decent low-end Fantasy DB when healthy. It appears as though he will play Week 15.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe (groin) went through limited practice reps Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 15 vs.
Continue to track his progress.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe picked off Chris Redman in St. Louis' 28-16 win over the Falcons in Week 13 and now has an interception in four straight games. He also had six tackles in the victory.
Analysis: Atogwe is playing superbly lately, as it is very difficult to get interceptions in four straight games. If you need some help in the DB department, Otogwe could be a great option in Week 14 against the turnover-prone Bengals.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had one tackle and an interception Sunday against Seattle.
Analysis: Atogwe is a low-end DB in IDP leagues and is not worth using in Week 13 against Atlanta.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had an interception and nine tackles -- six solo -- Week 11 at San Francisco.
Analysis: Atogwe now has 50 tackles and three interceptions this season, making him a No. 2 or 3 Fantasy DB. The Rams host the Seahawks in Week 12.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had four tackles and an interception Sunday against the Saints.
Analysis: Atogwe is a low-end DB but should be considered a decent option in Week 11 at the 49ers.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe made four tackles and defended a pass in St. Louis' 27-20 loss to the Browns in Week 8.
Analysis: Atogwe is nothing more than a backup DB in the deepest of IDP leagues, so be sure to leave him on the bench in Week 9 as the Rams are off. He will return to action in Week 10 against the Saints.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 5 vs. Arizona include: LB Will Witherspoon (14 total tackles, sack, forced fumble), CB Fakhir Brown (nine solo tackles, two interceptions), DB O.J. Atogwe (five solo tackles) and LB Pisa Tinoisamoa (six total tackles).
Analysis: Of these players, only Witherspoon is a must-start in IDP leagues. Atogwe is a nice low-end DB in deeper leagues, but everyone else can be ignored for now in Fantasy play (including Brown, who won't produce stats like this consistently).
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had five tackles and an interception Sunday against Dallas.
Analysis: Atogwe is a decent low-end DB in IDP leagues in Week 5 against Arizona.
News: There's not much to like from the Rams defenders in Week 3 action at Tampa Bay. CB Ronald Bartell led the way with six solo tackles, SS Corey Chavous had five tackles, LB Will Witherspoon totaled six hits, DE Leonard Little had four solo tackles, CB O.J. Atogwe had three solo tackles, LB Brandon Chillar had six total tackles and a forced fumble, DL Clifton Ryan had two solo tackles and a forced fumble and DL Trevor Johnson had a sack and a solo tackle.
Analysis: Of these players, Chavous, Witherspoon and Little are reliable Fantasy IDP players; Atogwe is decent in deeper leagues. The rest of these players aren't worth owning in Fantasy play.
News: Rams DB O.J. Atogwe had four tackles Sunday against the Rams.
Analysis: Atogwe should be considered a low-end DB in IDP leagues in Week 3 against Tampa Bay.
News: Notable Rams defenders from Week 1 vs. Carolina include: CB O.J. Atogwe (ten solo tackles), CB Tye Hill (seven tackles), LB Brandon Chillar (eight total tackles, forced fumble) and DB Chris Chavous (seven total tackles, forced fumble). DE Leonard Little (five total tackles) and Will Witherspoon (six total tackles) also helped in.
Analysis: Witherspoon, Little, Hill and Atogwe are useful in Fantasy IDP league play from week to week. Chavous is more of a low-end option. Consider these players when they face the 49ers at home in Week 2.
News: Rams CB Oshiomogho "O.J." Atogwe got a starting CB job this season and ended 2006 with 72 total tackles (63 solo), a sack, a fumble recovery, seven passes defensed and three interceptions.
Analysis: Atogwe is better served for keeper leagues since he's a reserve Fantasy DB at this point. Consider him with a late-round pick in deeper IDP leagues.
News: The Rams DST had a fumble recovery against the Redskins and nothing eles. DB Corey Chavous had four tackles and a fumble recovery. LB Will Witherspoon had five tackles. DL Leonard Little had five tackles. DB O.J. Atogwe had eight tackles.
Analysis: The Rams DST is not a recommended option for Week 17 against the Vikings but use all regular IDP players as needed.
News: The Rams Week 14 injury report includes: LB Isaiah Kacyvenski (concussion) as doubtful; DE Victor Adeyanju (forearm), DB O.J. Atogwe (concussion), DB Jerome Carter (ankle) and CB Tye Hill (thigh) as questionable; QB Marc Bulger (ribs), WR Torry Holt (knee), WR Kevin Curtis (calf), RB Stephen Davis (calf) and FB Paul Smith (neck) as probable. The Rams host the Bears in Week 14. Kacyvenski, Atogwe, Carter and Hill did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Obviously, Bulger and Holt are must-starts at this point. But other than Curtis (a low-end No. 4 Fantasy WR), Hill (a solid keeper and a good reserve DB), Atogwe (a good reserve DB) and Davis (insurance for Steven Jackson), none of these other players should be on Fantasy rosters.
News: The Rams gave up 20 points and 319 total yards to the 49ers in Week 12. DB O.J. Atogwe and DB Tye Hill had interceptions for the Rams.
Analysis: The Rams have been playing so-so defense this season and it is really hard to guage which team will show up on a weekly basis. Consider them a No. 2 Fantasy DST against the Cardinals in Week 13. Atogwe and Hill can both be used as low-end Fantasy DBs.
News: The Rams defense held the Seahawks to just 283 yards, but gave up 24 points in a Week 10 loss. The Rams defense did get six sacks and recovered two fumbles. Rams DL Leonard Little had two sacks, LB Will Witherspoon had two sacks, DB O.J. Atogwe had one sack, as did LB Brandon Chillar. Atogwe also forced two fumbles and Little forced one fumble. DL Victor Adeyanju returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: The Rams have been a less-than-desireable Fantasy unit of late and are not a recommended Fantasy option in leagues of less than 12 teams for Week 11 when they visit Carolina. Little and Witherspoon are must-start Fantasy IDP players. Atogwe is a low-end Fantasy DB.
News: Turnovers was the name of the game in Week 3 between the Cardinals and Rams. Lucky for the Rams they were the team that forced the most turnovers resulting in a win. They intercepted Cardinals QB Kurt Warner three times and forced Warner to make a mental error on a QB-Center exchange late in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals were going for the winning score. The Rams allowed 347 yards and 14 points. LB Will Witherspoon, DB Corey Chavous and DL Victor Adeyanju all had six tackles. DB O.J. Atogwe, DB Fakhir Brown and LB Dexter Coakley all had interceptions.
Analysis: Outside of letting up 347 yards, the Rams defense played fairly well against a very explosive Cardinals offense. The Rams defense continue to show improvements, so consider them as a viable DST when the matchup is favorable. Week 4 might present that matchup as the Lions come to town.
News: The St. Louis Rams have signed third-round pick Oshiomogho Atogwe to a contract.
Analysis: Atogwe has an outside chance to start and could have some value in IDP leagues as a rookie.
