He had three tackles (two solo).	Analysis: Hobbs is in his first season with the Eagles after spending the first four with New England. News: Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley injured his knee and cornerback Ellis Hobbs left with a stinger during practice Sunday night. Both players will have MRI tests on Monday. Bradley left the field on his own after getting hurt about halfway through the session. The extent of his injury wasn't immediately known, though trainers appeared concerned. Bradley had 151 tackles in his first full season as a starter last year. He's the primary signal caller on a defense that already lost veteran safety Brian Dawkins in free agency. Hobbs, acquired in a trade with New England, is competing for a starting job with Sheldon Brown.	Analysis: Hobbs is expected to fill a role on defense and special teams, giving him potential for some plays throughout the year. Assuming your league counts special-teams scores on top of defensive stats, Hobbs is useful as a reserve option. We'll keep you posted on his injury.

News: The New England Patriots have traded veteran CB Ellis Hobbs to the Philadelphia Eagles for two draft picks. Hobbs, who started for the Patriots last season, will rejoin former teammate Assante Samuel in the Philadelphia secondary. New England receives a pair of fifth-round picks in Sunday's NFL draft, the 137th and 141st overall picks.	Analysis: Hobbs will remain a No. 3 DB with the Eagles, who went after Hobbs to replace the departed Lito Sheppard. Hobbs will compete with Sheldon Brown and could start opposite Samuel. This makes the Eagles DST that much better, and they should remain a No. 1 unit this year.

News: DB Ellis Hobbs returned a kick 95 yards for a touchdown, giving New England five touchdowns in the first 17:14 of the game in Week 15 against the Raiders. Hobbs also made a tackle in the game.	Analysis: Other than returning kicks, Hobbs has little value in Fantasy. He's a low-end DB in IDP leagues and should be treated as such for Week 16 against the Cardinals.

News: Patriots DB Ellis Hobbs had three tackles and an interception Sunday against Buffalo.	Analysis: Hobbs is a low-end DB in IDP leagues but he can be started against the Jets in Week 11 because of Brett Favre's tendencies to throw interceptions. Hopefully that will happen if you own Hobbs.

News: The Patriots had several defensive players make plays Sunday at the Colts. LB Adalius Thomas had three tackles. Rookie LB Jerod Mayo had 11 tackles. LB Mike Vrabel had six tackles. DL Ty Warren had two tackles. DB Ellis Hobbs had one tackle. And DL Richard Seymour had two tackles.	Analysis: The Colts didn't give these players many chances to make plays besides tackles. Look for them to bounce back in Week 10 against Buffalo and use all your regular starters.

News: Patriots coach Bill Belichick searched for enough healthy defensive backs to finish the Patriots' last game. He may have the same problem Week 9 against Peyton Manning and the Colts. Safety Rodney Harrison is out for the season, and starting cornerback Ellis Hobbs and backup Lewis Sanders were sidelined from practice Wednesday. It may be time for rookies Terrence Wheatley and Jonathan Wilhite to step up against Manning, still dangerous despite a subpar season for him and Indianapolis. "Even if you're not a starter, you've still got to be ready to go," said Wheatley, a second-round draft pick from Colorado.	Analysis: Hobbs has some low-end IDP value, so keep an eye on his status. None of these other players has much Fantasy value on his own, but with all the problems the Patriots have in their secondary, you have even more reason not to start the Patriots DST against the Colts. Consider it a No. 2 Fantasy option.

News: Patriots DB Ellis Hobbs left New England's Week 8 win over the Rams in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury. Before leaving, he made four tackles, including one for a loss.	Analysis: Hobbs has some decent value as a low-end starting DB in IDP Fantasy leagues when healthy, but you'll obviously want to keep an eye on his situation heading into Week 9 at Indianapolis.

News: The Sports Xchange reports that Patriots DB Ellis Hobbs has been hot of late. The veteran intercepted a pass by Damon Huard in last week's season opener and now has four interceptions in his last five games, dating back to 2007. Among those picks was an interception against San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers in the AFC championship game. The Patriots play at the Jets in Week 2.	Analysis: Hobbs is worth using in standard Fantasy play when the Patriots play at the Jets in Week 2. The ball should be in the air plenty with Brett Favre under center in this huge grudge match.

News: Notable Patriots defenders from Week 1 vs. Kansas City include: SS Rodney Harrison (14 total tackles), LB Tedy Bruschi (12 total tackles), LB Mike Vrabel (six total tackles, two sacks), CB Ellis Hobbs (four total tackles, sack, interception, forced fumble), rookie LB Jerod Mayo (six solo tackles) and LB Adalius Thomas (five total tackles, sack).	Analysis: Just about everyone listed above is worth using in standard Fantasy play when the Patriots play at the Jets in Week 2. News: Pats DB Ellis Hobbs made his first game appearance since undergoing offseason shoulder surgery in Sunday's preseason game at Tampa Bay. He missed the start of camp because he was on the physically unable to perform list and also sat out the first exhibition game. With Asante Samuel gone to Philadelphia via free agency, Hobbs is being counted on to help anchor the pass coverage, reports the Boston Herald.	Analysis: Hobbs won't make enough plays to help your Fantasy team in 2008. He can be ignored in most formats this year.

Analysis: Because Hobbs doesn't put up enough Fantasy-related statistics during the season, he isn't someone considered to be a viable IDP candidate in Fantasy leagues. Avoid him in drafts.

News: Notable names from the Patriots' Physically Unable to Perform list made at the start of their training camp include: DL Jarvis Green, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, SS Rodney Harrison, DB Ellis Hobbs, LB Bo Ruud, LB Mike Vrabel and DL Mike Wright.	Analysis: Of these players, only Harrison and Vrabel are worth keeping an eye on in Fantasy play. Harrison still remains a quality playmaker and leader for the Patriots. But he's also been injury prone, and his stats have declined. He should still be considered a low-end No. 2 DB in IDP leagues and hopefully he can sustain his level of play for at least one more year. Vrabel remains a great source of tackles, and the sacks were a career-high in 11 seasons. If only he could be used on offense as well, he'd be a stud Fantasy option. For now consider him one of the best linebackers in IDP leagues and definitely plan on drafting him early in 2008. Everyone else isn't worth a look in Fantasy drafts.

Hobbs had 63 tackles (51 solo), his first career interception, a forced fumble and two defensive touchdowns, which was the first of his career.	Analysis: Hobbs is a solid low-end DB in IDP leagues. Hopefully he can build off this year in 2008 and continue to develop into a quality Fantasy option.

Analysis: The touchdown provided a nice bonus for IDP Fantasy owners, but Hobbs didn't do much else in the game. He recorded just three tackles in the game. Hobbs is a decent option in larger IDP formats.

Analysis: Hobbs is useful in larger IDP formats, but does not have an interception yet this season. He's not worth a start in Week 8 when the Patriots host the Redskins.

News: The Patriots allowed just 193 yards of total offense and just seven points in Week 3 vs. Buffalo. DL Jarvis Green had an interception, a fumble recovery and a sack. Ellis Hobbs also had a sack.	Analysis: The one thing they failed to do was score a touchdown for the first time this season. Hobbs was pretty close on his interception return, but was tackled at about the 10-yard line. Hobbs is useful in larger IDP formats and the same can be said for Jarvis Green. The Patriots will face a tough offense on the road in Cincinnati in Week 4, but remain a very solid start in all leagues. Only bench them if you have a quality defense with a good matchup.

News: The Patriots held the Texans to just 198 yards and seven points in a Week 15 win. The Patriots forced QB David Carr to throw four interceptions (Asante Samuel, Ellis Hobbs, Richard Seymour, James Sanders) and sacked him four times (Tully Banta-Cain 2, Mike Wright and Roosevelt Colvin). Even the special teamers got involved as Hobbs returned a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown.	Analysis: The Patriots dominated the Texans in Week 15 and Fantasy owners were rewarded. Consider the Patriots DST a solid option in Week 16 at Jacksonville. Seymour and Colvin are the only players that should be used in IDP leagues at this time.

News: New England DB Rodney Harrison injured his arm on the team's third defensive play of the game and didn't return, forcing the Patriots to play most of the game without one of their captains and inspirational leaders. Chad Scott moved from cornerback to safety to take Harrison's place alongside Artrell Hawkins. Ellis Hobbs came off the bench to play cornerback. Scott recorded his second interception in as many games, picking off Manning in the fourth quarter. Scott now has 21 interceptions in his 10-year NFL career.	Analysis: This is bad news for the Patriots DST and Harrison owners in IDP leagues. Continue to monitor the situation and hope Harrison can return.

News: Patriots DB Ellis Hobbs, who was inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals, has a broken wrist. Hobbs injured the scaphoid bone, which is the same bone linebacker Tedy Bruschi injured in training camp that caused him to miss just over a month of action. Hobbs said he had surgery on the wrist last Wednesday and is day-to-day right now. "I didn't really feel it at first," Hobbs said. "The more I thought about it, the more it hurt. I just put it out of my mind until the end of the game, and then after the game, it hurt pretty bad."	Analysis: Hobbs is of little Fantasy value at this time. Although he starts in New England, he posted so-so stats during his rookie year in 2005. Opposing offenses might test Hobbs when he returns to the lineup, so it is worth keeping an eye on, but don't worry about reserving a roster space in IDP leagues while he sits out.

News: Patriots DB Ellis Hobbs has a broken wrist and wants to play against the Dolphins this week. Hobbs, who missed Week 4's victory over the Bengals, broke the scaphoid bone in his wrist in the loss to the Broncos Sept. 24. Hobbs played throughout the game. It is unclear whether Hobbs has had, or will even need, surgery. With Hobbs out of the lineup this past Sunday, the Patriots turned to 10-year veteran Chad Scott.	Analysis: Keep Hobbs reserved in all IDP leagues. The Patriots DST is still a good play against the Dolphins because of QB Daunte Culpepper's struggles.
