Houston brings in RB Hall Houston brings in RB Hall Updated 8/6/2009
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: The Houston Texans have signed free agent cornerback Deltha O'Neal and free agent running back Andre Hall, released rookie defensive tackle Jake Visser and waived injured rookie running back Jeremiah Johnson. Analysis: Hall rushed for 360 yards on 79 carries in 18 games with one start for Denver over the previous two seasons. He joined the Broncos in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida. Hall's 2008 season ended early because of injury and is looking to get back on track. He is not worth owning in Fantasy, however, since he is currently buried on the Texans' depth chart.
RB Hall's season is over RB Hall's season is over Updated 11/3/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: The Broncos placed RBs Michael Pittman and Andre Hall on Injured Reserve Monday, leaving them with Ryan Torain and Selvin Young as the only healthy running backs on the roster. The Denver Post first reported the news. Pittman re-aggravated a stinger in his neck while Hall hurt his left hand in the team's loss vs. Miami in Week 9. Analysis: Pittman was an early-season stud for owners while Hall has had some potential but never was able to produce mass yards on a consistent basis. Owners should cut ties with both Pittman and Hall immediately. We've been big fans of Torain since July and feel that he'll be the best rushing option for Denver going forward with Young part of the corps backing him up. Consider Torain a sneaky No. 3 Fantasy RB at this point for their game at Cleveland this Thursday as part of Week 10 action.
Hall nets 15 yards in Week 9 Hall nets 15 yards in Week 9 Updated 11/2/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Denver RB Andre Hall caught one pass for eight yards and rushed once for seven yards in Week 9's loss to the Miami Dolphins. Hall actually led the Broncos in rushing as starter Michael Pittman totaled four yards on seven carries. Analysis: As the third or fourth RB option on his own team, Hall doesn't deserve a roster spot in Fantasy. The Broncos play on Thursday in Week 10 at Cleveland and Hall should be left on waivers.
A. Hall loses two early fumbles A. Hall loses two early fumbles Updated 10/21/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall quickly worked his way out of coach Mike Shanahan's favor Week 7 at New England, losing two fumbles in the first quarter. He finished with only the two caries, losing seven yards. Analysis: The Broncos might have intended to split carries between Hall and Michael Pittman with Selvin Young sidelined, but Hall disappeared from the gameplan because of his inability to hold on to the football. As the third or fourth RB option on his own team, he doesn't deserve a roster spot in Fantasy. The Broncos have a bye in Week 8 before facing the Dolphins in Week 9.
Five Broncos held statless Week 6 Five Broncos held statless Week 6 Updated 10/12/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall, RB Spencer Larsen, TE Mike Leach, TE Chad Mustard and QB Patrick Ramsey all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 6 vs. Jacksonville. Analysis: Hall usually gets about 5-10 carries per game, but Michael Pittman did all the rushing Week 6 as Selvin Young (groin) was sidelined. Hall, along with the rest of the players, have marginal offensive roles and should be kept reserved in Fantasy as the Broncos play the Patriots Week 7.
Hall gets seven touches Week 5 Hall gets seven touches Week 5 Updated 10/5/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall, who came into the game as probable with a wrist injury, carried the ball five times for 13 yards during a Week 5 win against Tampa Bay. Hall also had two catches for 17 yards. Analysis: Hall had a big opening game with 10 carries for 61 yards against the Raiders and it appeared as though he might be the star running back for Denver. In the last four games, he has just 22 carries for 84 yards. Hall is in a running back rotation out in Denver and has very little Fantasy value. The Broncos play the Jaguars Week 6.
Broncos ready to play Hall Week 5 Broncos ready to play Hall Week 5 Updated 10/3/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall (wrist) is listed as probable for Week 5 vs. Tampa Bay. Hall has practiced in full all week after he was injured Week 4 against the Chiefs. Analysis: Hall began the season as the Broncos' top running back, but he has now taken a backseat to Selvin Young and Michael Pittman. Even if he is healthy, Hall is not a recommended Fantasy option Week 5.
Hall not limited in practice Hall not limited in practice Updated 10/2/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall (wrist) went through a full practice Wednesday and Thursday as the team prepares for Week 5 vs. Tampa Bay. Hall was injured Week 4 against the Chiefs, but isn't expected to miss Sunday's game against the Bucs. Analysis: Hall began the season as the Broncos' top running back, but he has now taken a backseat to Selvin Young and Michael Pittman. Even if he is healthy, Hall is not a recommended Fantasy option Week 5.
A. Hall has brace on wrist A. Hall has brace on wrist Updated 9/30/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall was wearing a brace on his sprained right wrist Monday. He said it was feeling good and expected to play on Sunday as Denver hosts Tampa Bay. Analysis: Hall has taken a backseat to Selvin Young and Michael Pittman as the team's third-string back. He's not recommended in Fantasy because he simply won't put up enough numbers in Denver. Ignore him entering Week 5 against Tampa Bay.
Hall touches ball four times Sun. Hall touches ball four times Sun. Updated 9/28/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Denver RB Andre Hall rushed just four times Sunday against the Chiefs for 14 yards. Analysis: Hall has taken a backseat to Selvin Young and Michael Pittman as the team's third-string back. He's not recommended in Fantasy because he simply won't put up enough numbers in Denver. Ignore him entering Week 5 against Tampa Bay.
Hall rushes six for 25 yards Hall rushes six for 25 yards Updated 9/21/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Denver RB Andre Hall rushed six times for 25 yards on Sunday against New Orleans. Analysis: Hall saw a good number of carries behind starter Selvin Young but is not recommended in Fantasy since Young gets the bulk of the carries and Michael Pittman scores the touchdowns in the Denver offense.
Hall rushes for 31 yards Hall rushes for 31 yards Updated 9/14/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Denver RB Andre Hall rushed seven times for 31 yards on Sunday against the Chargers. His long carry went for 10 yards. Analysis: Hall was backing up starter Selvin Young and splitting with Michael Pittman. Pittman scored a touchdown and Young got the bulk of the work but things were mostly even on the afternoon. That means that the Broncos won't commit to any one for the bulk of the carries and all three take a Fantasy hit. Consider him more of a 'flex' option for the deepest of Fantasy leagues heading into Week 3 against New Orleans.
Hall still dealing with mom's death Hall still dealing with mom's death Updated 9/11/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: The Sports Xchange reports that Broncos RB Andre Hall was excused from practice on Wednesday. His mother passed away hours before Denver's season opener on Monday night. Hall should be back at practice Thursday. Analysis: Hall is one of four RBs being used in Denver, which limits Hall's value. Consider him more of a 'flex' option for the deepest of Fantasy leagues heading into Week 2 against the Chargers.
Hall rushes for 61 yards Hall rushes for 61 yards Updated 9/9/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Andre Hall ended up as the team's leading rusher Week 1 against the Raiders. He had a team-high 10 carries for 61 yards in a 41-14 win. Hall's longest carry went for 16 yards. Analysis: Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan used four running backs Week 1 and this is nothing new. He hardly commits to using one back and that frustrates Fantasy owners. Consider Hall more of a 'flex' option for the deepest of Fantasy leagues heading into Week 2 against the Chargers.
Hall a backup in dress rehearsal Hall a backup in dress rehearsal Updated 8/23/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: The Broncos rushed for 131 yards in their preseason game against Green Bay Friday night. Selvin Young got the start and carried six times for 42 yards. Andre Hall carried nine times for 46 yards and also caught a pass for 12 yards. Michael Pittman saw the most touches, carrying the ball 10 times for 36 yards and also catching six balls for 25 yards. Analysis: Week 3 of the preseason is the only week in which teams gameplan and keep their regulars in for any significant amount of time. This indicates that Young is the team's starter going into the season as expected. Hall is expected to be Young's backup to enter the season. For that reason, he should be used as the handcuff to Young and is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues. The Broncos will likely rotate running backs, but Hall has the chance to make some plays this year.
Hall to get carries Hall to get carries Updated 8/21/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: When <a href="/players/playerpage/228">Broncos</a> rookie RB Ryan Torain who at 6-1, 225 pounds was the biggest of the tailback bunch broke his elbow two weeks ago, coaches began using <a href="/players/playerpage/558645">Andre Hall</a>, sturdy and compact at 5-10 and 212 pounds, as the short-yardage back, reports the <i>Denver Post</i>. Hall pounded in for a 1-yard touchdown against Dallas last week, and is averaging 4.5 yards per carry in the preseason. "If they need me for short yards, or whatever, I'm going to do what they need me to do, but I'm not going to limit myself to short yards," Hall said. "I'm an every-down back. That's how I feel I can play, and that's what I'm going to do." As of now, Hall is the backup to <a href="/players/playerpage/424338">Selvin Young</a>. Analysis: Hall is expected to be Young's backup to enter the season. For that reason, he should be used as the handcuff to Young and is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues. The Broncos will likely rotate running backs, but Hall has the chance to make some plays this year.

Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos RB Selvin Young rushed nine times for 36 yards in Saturday's preseason game vs. Dallas. He also caught a pass for a three-yard loss. Michael Pittman had 16 carries for 41 yards in the game to lead the team and Andre Hall had seven carries for 24 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Analysis: Hall is expected to be Selvin Young's backup to enter the season. For that reason, he should be used as the handcuff to Young and is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues. The Broncos will likely rotate running backs, but Hall has the chance to make some plays this year.
Hall impressive vs. Houston Hall impressive vs. Houston Updated 8/11/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: With rookie RB Ryan Torain (elbow) out at least three months, Andre Hall has a chance for increased carries this year. Selvin Young likely will start, but he's a slashing type who will need to keep his legs fresh to stay effective, reports the Denver Post. But Hall was the most effective runner Saturday in the preseason opener against the Houston Texans, rushing eight times for 43 yards. Hall told the paper he welcomes the competition, which will also include Anthony Alridge and Michael Pittman. "It's going to help us get better," Hall said. "We've got a lot of room for improvement." Analysis: Hall should now be used as the handcuff to Young and is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues. The Broncos will likely rotate running backs, but Hall has the chance to make some plays this year.
Hall gets pass with Torain out Hall gets pass with Torain out Updated 8/6/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: Broncos rookie RB Ryan Torain could be out two to three months after suffering a fractured left elbow during Wednesday's morning workout, reports the Denver Post. Torain was carrying the ball in a nine-on-seven drill when he was tackled. As he fell, Torain stuck out his left hand to brace his fall and his elbow popped. He suffered fractured bone fragments in the elbow. He was to be taken for an MRI around noon. Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Torain had been developing to the point where he was competing with Selvin Young and Andre Hall for the No. 1 tailback spot. With Torain out, undrafted rookie Anthony Alridge moved up the depth chart behind Young and Hall while veteran Michael Pittman was shifted from fullback back to his natural tailback position. Analysis: Hall won't have to worry about Torain taking away backup carries now that Torain is hurt. Hall should now be used as the handcuff to Young and is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all leagues.
Young tops depth chart Young tops depth chart Updated 8/5/2008
Andre Hall, RB DEN
News: The Broncos released their first depth chart Monday, and RB Selvin Young was on top of the list. Following Young was Andre Hall as the No. 2 running back with rookie Ryan Torain at No. 3 and rookie Anthony Alridge behind Torain. Analysis: Look for the Broncos to use a committee at running back, with Young getting the majority of carries followed by Hall and Torain. Draft Young as a No. 3 Fantasy option, and take late-round fliers on Hall and Torain in seasonal leagues.
