Bears release longtime center Garza, sign center Montgomery

(4/2/2015) The Bears announced Thursday they released longtime center Roberto Garza. The team also announced they signed center Will Montgomery to a one-year contract.

Garza, who was a fourth-round pick of the Falcons in 2001, has been with the Bears since 2005. He has appeared in 206 games in his 14-year career and has started 176 times. He has only missed six starts the last nine seasons, including four in 2014 due to an ankle injury.

The Bears will be Montgomery's fifth team since being selected in the seventh round in 2006 by the Panthers. He has also played for the Jets, Redskins and Broncos, where he played in 2014 under new Bears coach John Fox. Montgomery has appeared in 106 games (71 starts).


Broncos relatively healthy heading into divisional round against Colts

(1/9/2015) The Broncos will head into their divisional round playoff matchup with the Colts relatively healthy. Defensive tackle Mitch Unrein (knee) and linebacker Brandon Marshall (foot) are considered questionable. Quanterus Smith has been declared out with a knee injury.

David Bruton (concussion/neck), Paul Cornick (toe), Orlando Franklin (concussion), Peyton Manning (thigh), Will Montgomery (knee), Aqib Talib (Achilles), Julius Thomas (ankle), Demaryius Thomas (ankle/finger), Juwan Thompson (hip/knee), T.J. Ward (neck), and Kayvon Webster (shoulder) are all considered probable for Sunday's game.

The Broncos are currently 7-point favorites against the Colts.


Peyton Manning, Emmanuel Sanders cleared to play for Broncos

(12/28/2014) The Broncos will have both Peyton Manning and Emmanuel Sanders Week 17 against the Raiders. 

Manning came into the contest listed as probable due to a thigh injury. He was never really expected to miss the contest. Sanders was listed as questionable with a hip issue. He was a limited participant in practice all week.

The team will also have nearly all of their probable players. That means C.J. Anderson, Lamin Barrow, David Bruton Jr., Ryan Clady, Chris Clark, Ronnie Hillman, Will Montgomery, Manny Ramirez, Jacob Tamme, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Kayvon Webster and Derek Wolfe will all attempt to play.

(12/26/2014) The Broncos have ruled out linebacker Brandon Marshall (foot) for Sunday's regular season finale against Oakland. Defensive back T.J. Ward (neck), tackle Paul Cornick (toe) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (hip) were deemed questionable, while 16 players were deemed probable.

Those included running back C.J. (12/22/2014) Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will have his blindside protector Monday night in Cincinnati, as left tackle Ryan Clady is active. Clady had been questionable with a thigh injury.

Also suiting up for Denver are right tackle Chris Clark (back), wideout Cody Latimer (concussion), center Will Montgomery (knee), tight end Jacob Tamme (ribs) and cornerback Kayvon Webster (shoulder).

The following players are listed as questionable: Ryan Clady (thigh), Ronnie Hillman (foot), Peyton Manning (thigh), Emmanuel Sanders (illness), Juwan Thompson (hip/knee) and Kayvon Webster (shoulder).

Those players were: Running back C.J. Neild was limited in practice Wednesday, but was able to participate in full Thursday and Friday. None of the other players were limited throughout the week.
