Raji (biceps injury) and defensive tackle Letroy Guion (legal issues) heading into 2015, the Packers may be very fortunate to have retained those players and not have to rebuild their defensive line, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

"That’s very big. You have two veteran guys, two bigger guys and two productive football players," Packers defensive end Mike Daniels said. "You have two veteran guys, two bigger guys and two productive football players. They’re both really good football players and they’re great guys."

Packers want DT Letroy Guion back with the team

by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
(3/25/2015) After having his firearms and marijuana case closed, defensive tackle Letroy Guion is on the free agent market.

According to ESPN.com, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that the team would like to re-sign him.

"I think to a man, everybody would like to see Letroy be a Green Bay Packer," McCarthy said at the NFC coaches breakfast.

"He's been an excellent addition to our football team and it would be great to get Letroy back," McCarthy said. "Just from my conversations with him, I know he we wants to be a Green Bay Packer."

Guion signed with the Packers last year and he started all 16 games, recording career-highs in tackles (32) and sacks (3.5). The 27-year-old spent six seasons with the Vikings before joining the Packers.

Report: Letroy Guion's marijuana, firearm case closed

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(3/24/2015) Free-agent defensive tackle Letroy Guion's criminal case involving 357 grams of marijuana and an unloaded gun has been closed, according to a report from ESPN.com

Guion paid a $5,000 fine plus court costs in a plea deal in his hometown of Starke, Fla. Guion did not have to admit guilt as part of the plea since he was a first-time offender.

In early February, Guion was pulled over and was found in possession of the large amount of marijuana, an unloaded firearm and $190,028.81 in cash. Police seized the vehicle and cash as a result of a civil forfeiture. Guion is trying to get his vehicle and cash back.

Guion recorded career-highs in tackles (32) and sacks (3 1/2) with the Packers in 2014.

With the case behind Guion, he could be of interest to NFL teams. After six years with the Vikings, Guion spent the 2014 season with the Packers.

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(2/4/2015) Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion was arrested Tuesday night in Starke, Fla., for possession of marijuana and a firearm, according to multiple reports.

ESPN.com was the first to have the marijuana charge, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the firearm charge. The Journal Sentinel added that the marijuana charge, at this time, will be a felony since Guion was allegedly in possession of more than 20 grams of the illegal substance.

Guion signed a one-year contract for $1 million in 2014. He's slated to become a free agent but had reportedly been in negotiations with Green Bay before this incident.

Packers tab Letroy Guion to start at nose tackle

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9/2/2014) Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion will line up on the nose as a starter in Thursday's regular-season kickoff against the Seahawks, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

"Losing B.J. [Raji] doesn't change things," defensive coordinator Dom Capers said Monday. "Letroy Guion will step in there where B.J. is. The rest of the guys would be playing where they would be if B.J. was here."

Guion was a limited participant in training camp due to a hamstring injury, but the team is ready to roll with him in the base 3-4 defense at the nose. However, the defense usually plays about 70 percent nickel, which would limit Guion's playing time if that same ratio is struck this season.
