McDonald headed back to Tampa Bay

News: The Buccaneers signed defensive back Brandon McDonald on Tuesday. McDonald was released by Tampa Bay earlier in the year.
Analysis: McDonald has racked up 21 tackles with one interception this season and poses minimal Fantasy value down the stretch. Continue to ignore him in all IDP formats.

McDonald waived by Dolphins

News: Miami waived cornerback Brandon McDonald on Saturday.
Analysis: The Dolphins claimed McDonald on waivers three days ago. Clearly, he has low-end Fantasy value.

Dolphins claim McDonald

News: The Sun-Sentinel reports the Dolphins claimed cornerback Brandon McDonald off waivers from the Bucs Wednesday.
Analysis: McDonald will be just secondary depth like he was in Tampa Bay and can be left off Fantasy rosters.

Bucs swap CBs Tuesday

News: The Bucs announced Tuesday cornerback LeQuan Lewis was added to the 53-man roster and cornerback Brandon McDonald was waived to make room.
Analysis: Neither of these players have Fantasy value in IDP formats and it was just a depth chart move by the Bucs.

Buccaneers bring back McDonald

News: The Buccaneers re-signed defensive back Brandon McDonald Wednesday after releasing him Saturday.
Analysis: McDonald likely won't play a significant role on the Buccaneers defense. You can ignore him in Fantasy IDP leagues.

McDonald booted from Bucs

News: The Buccaneers released defensive back Brandon McDonald on Saturday in order to clear a spot on the active roster for running back D.J. Ware, who signed with the team. McDonald joined Tampa Bay last week after being released by Detroit.
Analysis: McDonald was not expected to make a major Fantasy impact this season and should be left off all rosters at this point.

McDonald makes stop with Bucs

News: The Buccaneers bolstered their improving secondary unit Monday and signed defensive back Brandon McDonald, who was recently released by the Lions. McDonald appeared in 13 games for Detroit last season and recorded 14 tackles and two passes defended.
Analysis: McDonald was originally selected in the 2007 draft by Cleveland and has also spent time with Arizona. He started 15 games with the Browns in 2008, posting five interceptions and 75 tackles, but has not come close to those stats since then. Leave him on waivers in all Fantasy formats.

McDonald back with Lions

News: The Lions released DL Keyunta Dawson on Thursday and brought back cornerback Brandon McDonald, who was released Dec. 9 by Detroit.
Analysis: McDonald had 17 tackles in 11 games earlier this season with Detroit. He played on mostly special teams and in nickel situations on defense. He is just DB depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.

Brandon McDonald

McDonald cut by Lions

News: The Lions signed DL Jovan Haye on Friday and released DB Brandon McDonald to make room on the roster.
Analysis: McDonald has been kicking around the NFL since 2007 and even had 75 tackles in 2008 for the Browns. But he has primarily been a reserve DB the last few years and had no Fantasy appeal.

McDonald leaves with knee injury

News: Lions backup CB Brandon McDonald left the team's Thanksgiving Day game vs. the Packers with a knee injury in the second half and did not return. Head coach Jim Schwartz did not have an update on him after the game.
Analysis: McDonald isn't a great cornerback and probably wouldn't be a stat maven even if he wound up starting every week. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.

McDonald says deal is done

News: Cornerback Brandon McDonald tweeted Wednesday that he has agreed to a deal with the Lions to stay in Detroit. Conflicting reports indicate the deal may not be entirely finalized. McDonald finished the season on the injured reserve with a broken arm, though he is expected to be ready for training camp.
Analysis: McDonald appeared in six games for Detroit in 2010, starting two. Detroit didn’t tender McDonald a contract offer as a restricted free agent under the old CBA. The Lions are expected to go get a CB in free agency to occupy a starting spot, so McDonald will not likely make enough plays to warrant much Fantasy value. Don't consider him on Draft Day.

McDonald goes on IR

News: The Detroit Lions have put cornerback Brandon McDonald on season-ending injured reserve and activated linebacker Caleb Campbell for Sunday's game at Tampa. McDonald, who has started two games this season, broke his arm in last weekend's 7-3 win over Green Bay. Campbell had been on the practice squad.
Analysis: Neither of these players are or were consistent stat producers in the first place. Keep both off of rosters.

McDonald breaks arm

News: Lions DB Brandon McDonald left Week 14's game against the Packers in the third quarter with a broken arm. He did not return to the game.
Analysis: It's not clear how long McDonald will be out, but he is not a factor in Fantasy when healthy. He can be ignored in all formats in Week 15.

DB McDonald joins the Lions

News: The Lions claimed DB Brandon McDonald off waivers from the Cardinals on Thursday.
Analysis: McDonald would be just a reserve for the Lions and wouldn't offer enough statistically to factor in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.

Cards make roster moves

News: The Cardinals have cut three players and claimed three off waivers, including veteran CB Brandon McDonald. The Cardinals released CB Marshay Green, FB Reagan Maui'a and LB Pago Togafau. They claimed off waivers McDonald, from Cleveland, outside LB Cyril Obiozor and FB Jerome Johnson. McDonald started 27 games over the last three seasons for Cleveland but was released by the Browns over the weekend. Obiozor was cut by Green Bay and Johnson was released by the New York Giants.
Analysis: None of these players will matter for Fantasy owners in 2010. Ignore them in all leagues this year.

Cardinals make roster moves

News: The Cards waived CB Marshay Green, LB Pago Togafau and FB Regan Maui'a on Sunday while claiming FB/LB Jerome Johnson (Giants), DB Brandon McDonald (Browns) and LB Cyril Obiozor (Packers) off waivers.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to be much more than roster depth, so these transactions shouldn't impact Fantasy owners. Continue to ignore them.

Browns bring roster down to 53

News: The Browns cut the following players Saturday to get their roster down to 53 players: DB Larry Asante, DB Chris Chancellor, DL Clifton Geathers, DL Travis Ivey, RB Chris Jennings, DB Brandon McDonald, DL Swanson Miller, QB Brett Ratliff, DL Brian Sanford, DB DeAngelo Smith, WR Bobby Engram and DL C.J. Mosley
Analysis: None of these players were expected to have any kind of Fantasy value this season, so continue to ignore them.

McDonald in Mangini doghouse?

News: Browns coach Eric Mangini has railed against missed tackles all season and CB Brandon McDonald has been a chief offender. McDonald whiffed on Ravens WR Derrick Mason, resulting in a 41-yard gain and setting up a Ray Rice 13-yard TD run to break the scoreless tie. McDonald did have five tackles and a sack in the game, however.
Analysis: McDonald now has 40 tackles on the season to go with two sacks. It seems, however, he might be entering coach Mangini's doghouse. He really only has minimal Fantasy value for IDP leagues anyway. Leave him alone for Week 11 at Detroit.

McDonald returns pick for touchdown

News: Browns DB Brandon McDonald recorded two interceptions Week 15 at Philadelphia and returned one 24 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He finished with six solo tackles.
Analysis: McDonald has only five interceptions on the season, so you shouldn't necessarily rush to claim him off the waiver after this one performance. He does deserve some attention as a No. 2 Fantasy DB, though.

McDonald records third interception

News: Browns DB Brandon McDonald had an interception -- his third of the season -- Week 13 against the Browns. He finished with five tackles, including four solo.
Analysis: McDonald gets a decent number of tackles for a cornerback, but without more interceptions, he has minimal Fantasy appeal. Leave him on waivers in most IDP leagues.

DB McDonald big forcing turnovers

News: Browns DB Brandon McDonald recorded his second interception of the season Week 11 at Buffalo. He also forced a fumble, finishing with four tackles -- one solo.
Analysis: McDonald gets a decent number of tackles for a cornerback, but without more interceptions, he has minimal Fantasy appeal. Leave him on waivers in most IDP leagues.

Browns defenders help in loss

News: In the Browns' 37-27 loss vs. the Ravens, notable Browns defenders include: LB D'Qwell Jackson (11 total tackles, sack), DT Shaun Rogers (nine total tackles, sack), CB Brandon McDonald (seven solo tackles) and CB Eric Wright (five solo tackles).
Analysis: Jackson, Wright and Rogers are the only useful Fantasy options in IDP league play. The Browns will have no time to rest as they host the Broncos this Thursday as part of Week 10 action.

McDonald snags second pick of season

News: Browns DB Brandon McDonald recorded his second interception of the season Week 14 at the Jets. He also registered five tackles.
Analysis: McDonald has only 19 tackles this season. He's a low-end Fantasy option at best.

Browns sign three rookies

News: The Browns signed defensive back Brandon McDonald, defensive end Melila Purcell and wide receiver Syndric Steptoe, all rookies picked in the 2007 draft.
Analysis: All three players will provide organizational depth for the Browns and won't help Fantasy owners much, so keep them off rosters to start the '07 campaign.

Draft gets Browns deeper defensively

News: Aside from first-round picks OT Joe Thomas and QB Brady Quinn, the Browns' 2007 draft class includes: UNLV CB Eric Wright, Memphis CB Brandon McDonald, Hawaii DE Melila Purcell, LSU DE Chase Pittman and Arizona WR Syndric Steptoe.
Analysis: Wright is a high-risk, high-reward choice that has talent but also has some off-field issues while Steptoe will help on special teams. None of the Browns' picks outside of Quinn are worth much consideration in Fantasy play this season.
