Giants hope they don't have to play Charles Brown

(6/17/2014) With Giants left tackle Will Beatty recovering from a fractured leg suffered Dec. 29, free agent acquisition Charles Brown is taking most of the first-team snaps at the position. Beatty hopes to be back by training camp; if he's not it's bad news for the G-Men and Eli Manning.
Brown was benched by the Saints last season after committing 12 penalties, second-most among tackles, and allowing 49 combined sacks, QB hits and hurries. He graded out as the 66th-best tackle in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus. Brown is a solid run blocker who struggles in pass protection.
