(11/14/2014) The ruled out statuses of running back Giovani Bernard (hip/clavicle) and linebacker Vontaze Burfict (knee) headline the injury report submitted Friday by the Bengals for their Sunday game. But other Bengals are banged up as well.

Included is offensive tackle Andre Smith (ankle), who is doubtful. The questionables are linebacker Rey Maualuga (hamstring), who practiced in full Friday, and cornerback Terence Newman (knee), who has been out all week.

The probables are tight end Jermaine Gresham (thigh), cornerback Leon Hall (concussion), safety Taylor Mays (foot) and offensive lineman Mike Pollak (knee).

Bengals LB Rey Maualuga confident he'll play Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/12/2014) Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga believes that the hamstring injury that has prevented him from playing since Week 7 will not keep him out Sunday at New Orleans, ESPN has reported. But Maualuga added that the decision is in the hands of medical personnel.

Maualuga contributed to 19 tackles in five games before going down, but did not record a sack.

Hall and Burfict were ruled out on the team's final injury report, which also listed Bernard, Maualuga and Smith as doubtful to play. Jeremy Hill is expected to carry the load at running back with Bernard sidelined.

Bengals announce Week 8 inactives vs. Ravens

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Green (toe), linebacker Rey Maualuga (hamstring), defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee), running back Rex Burkhead, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, offensive tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive end Will Clarke.

Green will miss his third straight game while dealing with a nagging toe injury, and an earlier report Sunday pegged his chances at playing in Week 9 at 70 percent. Maualuga had been ruled out on the team's final Week 8 injury report, while Thompson had been listed as questionable.

Bengals Week 8 injury report features 10 probables

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/24/2014) Outside of A.J. Green and Rey Maualuga, the Bengals enter Week 8 at home against Baltimore relatively healthy despite having 14 players on the final injury report for Sunday's game. Green (toe) was ruled doubtful, while Rey Maualuga (hamstring) was officially ruled out. Brandon Thompson (knee) was limited in practice and questionable.

Meanwhile, the following players were labeled probable for the Bengals: Giovani Bernard (ribs), Kevin Brock (neck), Vontaze Burfict (neck), Robert Geathers (toe), Wallace Gilberry (eye), Leon Hall (back), Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder), Marshall Newhouse (back), Mike Pollak (knee) and Andre Smith (shoulder).

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) Stud wideout A.J. Green is the standout among the seven inactives for the Bengals on Sunday against host Indianapolis. But several other injured players are on the list.

They are linebackers Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder) and Rey Maualuga (hamstring) and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee).

The healthy scratches are cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive end Will Clarke.

Bengals LB Rey Maualuga red-lighted for game against Colts

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/17/2014) A hamstring injury will keep Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga from playing Sunday against the host Colts. He has been ruled out.

Maualuga, who sustained the injury last Sunday against Carolina, is off his typical production pace with just 19 tackles in five games.

Bengals list nine players on final injury report

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/10/2014) The Bengals listed nine players on their final injury report for Week 6 at home against Carolina.

Outside of star receiver A.J. Green (toe) being questionable for Sunday, Vontaze Burfict (concussion) is the most notable name on the report. He was a full participant in practice all week after receiving clearance from team doctors and is listed as probable. He will need to be given the green light by an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday.

Other probables include safety George Iloka (abdomen), linebacker Rey Maualuga (shoulder), offensive lineman Mike Pollak (knee) and linebacker Vincent Rey (calf). Outside of Green, wide receiver Marvin Jones (ankle), who missed practice all week, was the only other player deemed questionable on the list. Defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee) and guard Kevin Zeitler (calf) were both ruled doubtful for the home game.

Bengals deem five probable for game in San Diego

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/29/2013) Probables dominate the Bengals injury report released Friday. Those who have received that desgination are linebacker Michael Boley (shoulder), safety Chris Crocker (hamstring), punter Kevin Huber (ankle), linebacker Rey Maualuga (knee) and defensive tackle Devon Still (elbow).

Rey Maualuga might have to accept reduced role

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/21/2013) One Rey could lose playing time to another when the Bengals come off their bye week. The emergence of middle linebacker Vincent Rey while Rey Maualuga was nursing a knee injury for three weeks could result in fewer reps for the latter.

Maualuga isn't going to complain about it. "I know my strengths and what I can do," he told ESPN.com. "In that area, I'm not worried. I can only control what I see, see where I am and what they have me doing."

Rey was a find for Cincinnati. He contributed 30 tackles, three sacks and an interception in three games as Maualuga's replacement. An indication of their future roles can be better gauged when the Bengals play at San Diego in Week 13.

(11/15/2013) Conflicting reports Friday revolved around Bengals middle linebacker Rey Maualuga. The team website stated that he suited up, but the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that he was not practicing. He has not played in a game since sustaining a knee injury in Week 8.

His status for the AFC North showdown against Cleveland will become clearer when the team releases its Friday injury report.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/14/2013) Two key Bengals defenders missed practice again on Thursday, which puts their availability for the Week 11 game against visiting Cleveland in jeopardy.

Safety Chris Crocker (hamstring) and middle linebacker Rey Maualuga (knee) were out, which suggests a strong possibility they won't play against the Browns in a key AFC North matchup.

Rey Maualuga facing red light again for Sunday game

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/8/2013) Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga could be getting close to being officially ruled out for a second straight game with a knee injury. He was again a non-participant in practice on Friday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The injury was estimated as one that would keep Maualuga sidelined for three or four weeks when he sustained it in Week 8 against the Jets, so his absence Sunday in Baltimore is expected.
