News: Linebacker Desmond Bishop told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he plans to be "110 percent" for training camp. He's working his way back from a torn hamstring.
Analysis: Bishop is a gem for Fantasy when he's healthy as he accumulates plenty of tackles with some sacks and other pass defense stats mixed in. Though the clock's ticking on him being a productive defender, he should manage to be a good option if he stays healthy for another year or two. We'll see if he's healthy in 2013.
News: NFL Network reports the Packers are interested in trading linebacker Desmond Bishop. Bishop is coming back from a torn hamstring suffered last preseason but is expected to be ready for the start of the season.
Analysis: Bishop is a gem for Fantasy when he's healthy as he accumulates plenty of tackles with some sacks and other pass defense stats mixed in. Though the clock's ticking on him being a productive defender, he should manage to be a good option if he stays healthy for another year or two. We'll see if he's healthy and where he'll play in 2013.
News: The agent for linebacker Desmond Bishop says his client will be ready for the start of offseason minicamps, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Bishop missed the entire 2012 season with a torn hamstring.
Analysis: In his last two seasons -- 2010 and 2011 -- Bishop had over 100 total tackles with more than a handful of sacks. If he can regain his form, that's the kind of production you can get from him. We'd gamble a late-round pick on Bishop.
News: Green Bay linebacker Desmond Bishop (hamstring) was among five players placed on injured reserve Monday and will miss the entire upcoming season. Bishop, who suffered a hamstring injury during the first quarter of the team's preseason opener, joins running back Duane Bennett; tight end DeMarco Cosby; defensive lineman Johnny Jones; and wide receiver Shaky Smithson on injured reserve.
Analysis: Aside from Bishop, neither of these players were expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left off all rosters at this point. But the loss of Bishop is devastating for the Packers' already suspect defense as he racked up a career-high 115 tackles last season. But with his season already over, Fantasy owners should bypass him in all IDP formats for the 2012 campaign.
News: Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the worst fears regarding linebacker Desmond Bishop's leg injury Saturday, as Bishop will require surgery on his hamstring that is threatening to cost him the entire season. McCarthy told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the injured reserve list is a possibility, though that will depend on exactly what is found in the course of the surgery. "Personally, I feel just terrible. It was a very unusual injury," McCarthy said. "If you have a chance to see it on film, its just unfortunate." Bishop suffered the injury after a group of players fell on the back of his leg during Thursday's preseason opener.
Analysis: Bishop started 13 games last season, and was expected to be a big part of the teams defense this season, so this might end up being a big blow for the sixth-year man out of Cal. He racked up a career-high 115 tackles last season and could have been a strong Fantasy IDP option; now, he may not even play. We will continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward, but things do not look good right now.
News: Green Bay linebacker Desmond Bishop may have suffered a significant setback after hurting his right leg in the first quarter of the Packers' loss at San Diego in Thursday's preseason opener. Speaking to reporters after the game, Packers coach Mike McCarthy characterized Bishop's injury as a knee sprain, with potential damage to his hamstring. "Desmond's injury didn't look very good," McCarthy said. "Hopefully we'll get some good news as further testing goes on. But it's up in the air." Bishop was hurt when a group of players fell on his right leg. He stayed down for several minutes and was unable to put any weight on it as he was helped to the sideline, then was carted to the locker room.
Analysis: Bishop, a sixth-year player out of Cal, started 13 games for the Packers last season -- missing three with a calf injury -- and netted five sacks. If Bishop misses a significant amount of time, promising second-year player D.J. Smith will likely get an opportunity. It's unclear if the injury will force him out for the upcoming season. But Green Bay is hoping it won't resort to that as Bishop remains a key part of the team's defense. The 28-year-old piled up a career-high 115 tackles last season and is worthy of a mid-round selection in Fantasy IDP drafts -- if healthy.
News: Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop left Thursday's preseason opener against the Chargers with a right knee injury. Chargers running back Ronnie Brown fell on Bishop's knee during the first play of the team's second defensive series. He was carted off the field and did not return. Bishop finished with three tackles on the night.
Analysis: This is another tough blow for the Packers, who have been dealing with a handful of injuries since the start of camp. Trainers were working on his right knee after he was carted off the field. Hopefully the Packers are taking a precautions approach to their starting linebacker. He can be picked as a No. 2 Fantasy linebacker with a mid- to late-round pick, if healthy.
News: The Packers removed linebacker Desmond Bishop from the NFI list. He's two days away from practicing in pads.
Analysis: Bishop should return to the middle of the Packers defense and hopefully stay healthy. He can be picked as a No. 2 Fantasy linebacker with a mid- to late-round pick.
News: After missing the previous three games with a calf injury, Packers LB Desmond Bishop returned to the starting lineup in Week 17 as the Packers defeated the Bears 35-21. Bishop flew past the 100-tackle mark on the season with a 12-tackle performance in the game, his second-highest total of the season.
Analysis: Bishop has been extremely productive this season, and he now has two consecutive 100-tackle seasons to his name. Continue to consider him a solid Fantasy LB in all IDP formats.
News: After missing the previous three games due to a calf injury, Packers LB Desmond Bishop has returned to the lineup for Week 16 vs. Chicago.
Analysis: Bishop is just three tackles away from his second straight 100-tackle campaign and also has five sacks on the year. When healthy he should be considered a solid Fantasy LB in IDP formats so get him active for Week 16.
News: After missing the previous three games due to a calf injury, Packers LB Desmond Bishop was listed as probable on Friday's injury report and is expected to return in Week 16 against the Bears.

News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop was listed among the inactives for Week 14 against the Raiders. It was the second straight game he missed due to a calf injury.
Analysis: Bishop, who was unable to practice the week leading up to Sunday, is just three tackles away from his second straight 100-tackle campaign and also has five sacks on the year. When healthy he should be considered a solid Fantasy LB in IDP formats.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop will not return from a calf injury in Week 14 against the Raiders, missing a second straight game. D.J. Smith will once again take his spot in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Bishop did not practice all week, which isn't an encouraging sign. It's a tough time for IDP owners to be without one of their top players as it is playoff time in Fantasy. Keep Bishop stashed until further notice.
News: Packers LBs Desmond Bishop and A.J. Hawk have been ruled inactive for Week 13 against the Giants. Bishop was unable to practice all week due to a calf injury. D.J. Smith is expected to start in his absence.
Analysis: Bishop is just three tackles short of reaching 100 for the second straight year but he will have to wait at least another week before getting there. Keep an eye on his status going forward as Bishop should be considered a solid option in the majority of Fantasy IDP formats, when healthy.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop (calf) has been ruled out for Week 13 at N.Y. Giants. D.J. Smith is expected to start in his absence.
Analysis: Coach Mike McCarthy said the doctors didn't feel Bishop would be ready to play Sunday, so they are holding him out. It's a tough loss for Fantasy owners since Bishop is a tackling machine. Keep him reserved Week 13.
News: LB Desmond Bishop was one of many wounded Packers on Thursday at the Lions. He hurt his calf in the first half and was replaced by D.J. Smith in the second half. Bishop was spotted on the sideline on crutches with ice on his right calf. The Green Bay Press-Gazette suspects that he could miss Week 13 at the Giants, if not longer. He's due for an MRI on Friday.
Analysis: Bishop has been a tackling fiend in Fantasy, so he'll hurt his owners if he's lost a while. Meanwhile, Smith had six total tackles in the game and would be a sleeper to add off of waivers if Bishop is indeed out. We'll keep you posted.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop was able to practice in full on Wednesday in preparation for the Week 12 Thursday game on Thanksgiving Day at Detroit. Bishop is dealing with a calf injury, but is probably to play in the game.
Analysis: Bishop has recorded at least eight tackles in six of his last seven games and he had seven in the other one. Bishop has five sacks this season to go with a forced fumble and a pass defended. He's been an excellent option in Fantasy IDP formats with 93 tackles and should be active in many IDP formats for the Week 12 game.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop recorded nine tackles in a Week 11 win over the Buccaneers. He tied DB Tramon Williams for the team lead in tackles, and he now has 93 on the season.
Analysis: Bishop broke a streak of back-to-back games with sacks, but he continues to be a reliable producer in IDP formats. Owners should continue to view him as a must-start LB option.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop had yet another solid performance in a big spot on Monday night Week 10. The Packers destroyed the Vikings as Bishop recorded eight tackles to finish second on the team behind Charles Woodson's nine. Bishop added three big hits on QB Christian Ponder, including a sack.
Analysis: The 27-year-old Bishop, out of California, has now recorded sacks in back-to-back contests. He has five on the season to go with 84 tackles. Bishop has been one of the most consistent and impressive Fantasy LBs in IDP formats this season. He is a must-start in Fantasy play.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop turned in another solid effort in Week 9 against the Chargers. Bishop finished with 11 tackles -- eight solo -- in the 45-38 victory, including his fourth sack of the season. He was also credited with a tackle for loss and quarterback hit in the contest.
Analysis: Bishop has been a tackling machine in Green Bay this season and now has 76 on the year. The 27-year-old also has four sacks and and a forced fumble thus far and is well on his way to recording his second straight 100-plus tackle campaign. Leave him active in all formats heading into Week 10.
News:Desmond Bishop led the Packers in tackles in Week 7 against the Vikings. He recorded six solo and assisted on two more to finish with eight in the 33-27 win.
Analysis: Bishop continues to rack of the tackles for the Packers as he now has 65 through seven games. He also has three sacks. He is shaping up to be a solid Fantasy LB so keep him active in all IDP formats.
News:The Sports Xchange notes Packers inside linebacker Desmond Bishop is on pace to finish the 16-game regular season with 192 tackles, which would be only two short of ex-Packers linebacker Nick Barnett's team record in 2005. Bishop, who replaced an injured Barnett in the starting lineup early last season, has a team-high 72 tackles this season.
Analysis: The coaches in their review of the tape of Sunday's game against the Rams credited Bishop with 20 tackles (a career high), and 15 of those were of the solo variety. Bishop has three games of more than 10 tackles this season. He is tied with defensive end Jarius Wynn for the team lead with three sacks. "Bishop has been playing very good football," defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. Continue to start Bishop in all Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop played well Sunday against the Rams in Week 6. Bishop had 14 tackles, including nine solo, and now has 57 tackles on the year.
Analysis: Bishop has become an elite LB in IDP leagues and should remain active in all formats. He should continue to play well in Week 7 at Minnesota.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop had a productive game in Week 5 against the Falcons. He finished with seven tackles and a sack in the 25-14 win. He now has three sacks on the year, matching his career high.
Analysis: Bishop looks well on his way to another productive campaign and should be able to reach the 100-tackle mark for the second straight season. Continue to utilize him in the majority of Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop recorded 10 tackles, nine solo, and one sack in Sunday's 49-23 win over Denver. He has recorded double-digit tackles in three of the first four weeks of the season.
Analysis: Bishop has 36 tackles and two sacks so far this year. If he keeps up his current pace he'll end the season with 144 tackles and eight sacks. Fantasy owners in IDP leagues should keep him active as he's a high-end LB option.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop led all players in the Week 2 win over Carolina with 10 total tackles in the game. Bishop added a sack for the Packers and nine of his tackles were solo.
Analysis: Bishop has 22 tackles in two games for the Packers. Averaging double-digit stops after two games, Bishop is definitely a worthy Fantasy IDP option at this point heading into Week 3 at Chicago.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop racked up 12 tackles, including eight solo stops, during the Packers' 42-34 Week 1 victory over New Orleans on Thursday night. Bishop finished just two tackles shy of Morgan Burnett for the team lead (14).
Analysis: Bishop signed a four-year extension with Green Bay last January and showed immediate dividends at the start of his fifth NFL season. The 27-year-old could be in line for 100 tackles for the second season in a row, and should be considered a viable Fantasy option in IDP formats.
News: Green Bay signed LB Desmond Bishop to a four-year $19 million contract extension on Tuesday.
Analysis: In his first year as a pretty much full-time starter, Bishop made 103 tackles, three sacks and an interception. He emerged as a useful Fantasy IDP option in leagues that require LBs and should be drafted in those formats heading into 2011.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop had another productive performance in Week 17 against the Bears. He recorded six tackles and also defended two passes in the 10-3 win.
Analysis: Bishop went over the 100-tackle mark for the first time in his career on Sunday and finished the regular season with 103 tackles, three sacks and an interception. He has been one of the Packers' best tacklers this season and should be able to do some more damage in the playoffs. Heading into 2011, consider the 26-year-old as a viable option in most Fantasy IDP formats on Draft Day.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop tallied a team-high nine tackles in the Packers' 45-17 victory over the Giants in Week 16 on Sunday. Bishop has now recorded seven or more tackles in in five straight games, including two outings with 10 stops.
Analysis: Bishop has been one of the Packers' best tacklers this season as he continues to add to his career high in tackles and now has 97 this season. The fourth-year linebacker narrowly missed totaling double digits in tackles for the sixth this season in Sunday's game. Consider him a must-start in Fantasy IDP formats for Week 17.
News: For the third time in his last four games, Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop racked up 10 tackles -- seven solo -- in the Week 15 loss to the Patriots. He added his third sack on the year when he blitzed untouched before delivering a violent hit on QB Tom Brady.
Analysis: Bishop has come into his own this season while filling in for Nick Barnett. He now has 91 tackles on the year and it appears that he will break 100 for the first time as a pro. He's a rising Fantasy star and should be active in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop (hamstring) is active for the Week 15 game against the Patriots. He was originally listed as probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Bishop has totaled double-digit tackles in two of his last three games, and he's excelling in the absence of Nick Barnett. He's even been an occasional contributor in the turnover department. Continue to roll with Bishop in Fantasy play.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop appeared on Friday's injury report with a hamstring issue, and he's listed as probable heading into the Week 15 game against the Patriots.
Analysis: Bishop has totaled double-digit tackles in two of his last three games, and he's excelling in the absence of Nick Barnett. He's even been an occasional contributor in the turnover department. Since he's probable, we don't see any reason to panic. Continue to roll with Bishop in Fantasy play.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop made 10 tackles against the Lions in Week 14. This tied him with A.J. Hawk for the team lead in the game.
Analysis: Bishop has been very productive for owners in IDP leagues of late. He can be used as a No. 2 Fantasy LB for Week 15.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop led the Packers with seven tackles -- he tied with Charlie Peprah but had more solo stops -- in the Week 13 win over the Niners. He was coming off a game in which he had 10 tackles against Atlanta.
Analysis: Bishop has had four games in double figures in tackles this season along with two sacks and an interception. Bishop didn't begin the season as a starter, but since taking over, he has proven to be a consistent enough tackler for Fantasy use. He deserves a look off the waiver wire as a No. 2 Fantasy LB heading into Week 14 at Detroit.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop reached double digits in tackles for the fourth time this season Week 12 at Atlanta. He finished with 10, including six solo.
Analysis: Bishop didn't begin the season as a starter, but since taking over, he has proven to be a consistent enough tackler for Fantasy use. He deserves a look off the waiver wire as a No. 2 Fantasy LB.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop (probable, hip) was not listed among the inactives for Week 11 at Minnesota.
Analysis: Bishop continues to ascend as an impact player on the Packers defense. In his last three games, he has an interception return for a touchdown, registered 22 tackles, and strip-sacked a QB. Keep him active in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop (hip) was added to the injury report on Friday. He has been bothered by hip soreness for several weeks, and it finally caught up with him. He's listed as probable and should be able to play in the Week 11 game against the Vikings. It would be a huge loss if he had to leave the game because he's the team's best run stuffer.
Analysis: Bishop continues to ascend as an impact player on the Packers defense. In his last three games, he has an interception return for a touchdown, registered 22 tackles, and strip-sacked a QB. Keep him active in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop was able to get to Jon Kitna in the Week 9 game against the Cowboys and forced a fumble as he sacked him in the third quarter of the win. He added four tackles (three solo) in his fifth straight start.
Analysis: Bishop continues to ascend as an impact player on the Packers defense. In his last three games, he has an interception return for a touchdown, registered 22 tackles, and strip-sacked a QB. Keep him active in Fantasy IDP formats.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop, getting his fourth straight start, recorded a team-high 10 tackles -- all solo -- at the Jets in Week 8. He's averaging 10.3 tackles in his four starts.
Analysis: Bishop also returned an interception for a touchdown last week, so clearly he's making his presence felt as a starter. Because he's a consistent source of tackles, he's worth adding as a No. 2 LB in Fantasy IDP leagues even though he's a relative unknown.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop intercepted Brett Favre in the Week 7 game against the Vikings and he returned it 32 yards for a touchdown. "That's a play that's going to go down in my history," Bishop said. "It was an honor to get a pick on Brett Favre and take it to the house. He's a legend and a future Hall of Famer, and to do that is huge." Bishop added eight tackles (five solo).
Analysis: Bishop has been outstanding for Green Bay since taking over for the injured Nick Barnett, who is out for the season. It's like Barnett never left the lineup. If Bishop keeps playing this way, then he is going to be a standout Fantasy option in no time. Consider adding him in all IDP leagues.
News: Packers LB Desmond Bishop totaled 10 tackles (seven solo) in Week 6 against the Dolphins. He has 23 tackles and one sack in his last two games.
News: The Packers needed some help at LB with Nick Barnett (wrist) out, and Desmond Bishop helped fill the role in Week 5 at the Redskins on Sunday. Bishop led the Packers with 13 tackles, including six solo, and a sack.
Analysis: Bishop is only owned in 1 percent of leagues on CBSSports.com, so consider adding him in all IDP leagues with Barnett possibly out for the season. Bishop has the chance to post quality stats in Week 6 against the Dolphins.
News: The Rams released S Brett Johnson, TE Darcy Johnson, WR Jordan Kent and C Tim Mattran Friday evening before cutting LB Devin Bishop and CB Antoine Thompson later Friday night.
Analysis: None of these players were or are expected to be regular stat contributors in the first place. Keep them off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Green Bay LB Desmond Bishop bruised his knee on Monday at Minnesota in Week 4. He will be evaluated on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bishop does little in the Packers' defense and does not need to be owned in Fantasy IDP leagues. The Packers have a bye Week 5 and play against Detroit Week 6.
News: The Green Bay Packers break training camp Friday, but decisions on playing time at the linebacker spots have yet to be settled. Brandon Chillar, who has been filling in with the first-team defense while Nick Barnett recovers from a knee injury, has arguably been the team's best linebacker during camp, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. And Desmond Bishop is beginning to show that he's more than a special teams ace. With room for four starting linebackers in the Packers' new 3-4 scheme, as many as eight players are jockeying for top spots. About the only linebacker whose starting job appears to be safe is Aaron Kampman, a two-time Pro Bowl defensive end who was moved to left-side outside linebacker in the offseason. The other outside linebacker spot is up for grabs while Chillar and Bishop are pushing for the inside spots held by Barnett and A.J. Hawk.
Analysis: The Packers might be in the market for a trade in the next couple of weeks. Of these players, Kampman is a decent No. 2 Fantasy option since he'll get a lot of sacks but not a lot of tackles as a pass-rushing linebacker (not a defensive end). Hawk's stats should improve, especially if Barnett doesn't play right away. Chillar and Bishop are no better than late-round sleepers in IDP leagues.
News: The Packers DST had three fumble recoveries and an interception Sunday against Houston. They also added one sack. Tramon Williams had the interception and a fumble recovery along with six tackles, Brett Goode had a fumble recovery, Johnny Jolly had a fumble recovery and seven tackles and Desmond Bishop had 12 tackles and a sack. Will Blackmon had four kickoff returns for 72.8 yards and two punt returns for 8 yards.
Analysis: The Packers DST just creates turnovers. Consider them a No. 1 Fantasy option in Week 15 at Jacksonville.
News: Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that linebacker Barnett tore a right knee ligament in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, which the Packers lost 28-27. Surgery has not yet been scheduled. It's a major blow to an already-suspect run defense which gave up 192 yards rushing to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson on Sunday.
Analysis: Barnett wasn't performing up to standards this season but was good enough to use as a No. 2 Fantasy LB. Desmond Bishop and Brandon Chillar will likely split time in Barnett's spot until one of them proves to be the best linebacker. Barnett should be dropped from all leagues while Bishop and Chillar are at best low-end fliers in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues.
News: For the Vikings, WR Sidney Rice (hamstring), DB Antoine Winfield (hamstring), DB Mike Doss (coach's decision), RB Naufahu Tahi (coach's decision), RB Garrett Mills (coach's decision), DL Jayme Mitchell (coach's decision) and third QB Kelly Holcomb (neck) were all named inactive for their Week 10 game at Green Bay. For the Packers, WR Shaun Bodiford (coach's decision), DB Will Blackmon (foot), DB Nick Collins (knee), LB Desmond Bishop (coach's decision), TE Bubba Franks (knee), DL Justin Harrell (ankle) and DL Daniel Muir (coach's decision) were named inactive.
Analysis: Rice and Holcomb were questionable coming into Week 10, so there was always a good chance they would be inactive. Rice was going to be back on the bench with Troy Williamson returning, so his Fantasy value had already been decreased. Franks is expected to miss another couple of weeks.
News: The Packers inactives for Week 9 at Kansas City include TE Bubba Franks, DL Justin Harrell, DB Will Blackmon, LB Desmond Bishop, WR Ruvell Martin, DL Colin Cole and DL Daniel Muir.
Analysis: Keep Franks reserved in all leagues. He was expected to miss this week. None of these other players have any Fantasy value and should not be active.
News: The Packers inactives for Week 6 against the Eagles include DB Will Blackmon, RB Brandon Jackson, LB Desmond Bishop, DL Colin Cole, DL Daniel Muir and DL Corey Williams.
Analysis: Keep Jackson reserved for Week 6 against the Redskins and continue to monitor his status for Week 8 at Denver. The Packers are off in Week 7. All the other players have minimal Fantasy value and should be kept reserved.
News: The Green Bay Packers announced that LB Desmond Bishop, CB Will Blackmon (foot), DT Colin Cole (concussion), RB Brandon Jackson (shin), DL Mike Montgomery (knee) and DT Daniel Muir are inactive for Week 5 against Chicago.
Analysis: Bishop is not a recommended Fantasy player in IDP leagues for Week 6 against the Redskins.
News: Notable inactives for the Packers-Vikings Week 4 matchup include: Packers DB Frank Walker, LB Desmond Bishop, DL Justin Harrell, DL Daniel Muir, DL Mike Montgomery and RB Brandon Jackson. For the Vikings, QB Tarvaris Jackson (No. 3/emergency QB), WR Aundrae Allison, DL Fred Evans, DB Ronyell Whitaker, RB Mewelde Moore, FB Garrett Mills and DL Erasmus James are inactive.
Analysis: DeShawn Wynn will start at running back for the Packers, but Vernand Morency is expected to play as well. Neither one should put a dent in that Vikings run defense, though. Kelly Holcomb will start at QB for the Vikings, and Moore's inactivity is based on Chester Taylor's return to the Vikings' lineup -- he will start and take some of Adrian Peterson's reps. The rest of the players listed aren't reliable Fantasy players.
News: Packers rookie linebacker Desmond Bishop delivered two separate hits that knocked the helmet off of Jaguars wide receiver Reggie Williams during Thursday's preseason game. Bishop finished with five solo tackles.
Analysis: Bishop is fighting for a roster spot with the Packers. If he makes the team, he likely won't put up enough stats this season to worry about in IDP leagues.
News: The Packers and sixth-round pick Desmond Bishop agreed to terms on a contract. He is expected to help out on special teams.
Analysis: Bishop won't put up enough stats to warrant use in 2007 Fantasy play.
News: Aside from first-round pick DT Justin Harrell and second-round pick RB Brandon Jackson, the Packers' 2007 draft class includes: San Jose St. WR James Jones, Virginia Tech SS Aaron Rouse, Missouri Southern St. OT Allen Barbre, Virginia Tech WR David Clowney, Boise State LB Korey Hall, Cal LB Desmond Bishop, Colorado PK Mason Crosby, Florida RB DeShawn Wynn and Rutgers TE Clark Harris.
Analysis: Jones has size but is more of a possession receiver than a deep threat; it will be a longshot for him to become popular in Fantasy play. Clowney is a speed receiver who doesn't have bulk or can go across the middle -- look for the Packers to use him as a situational option. Rouse has terrific size (6-foot-4) and speed (4.55 in the 40-yard dash) but is not a great pass defender. The Packers may try moving Rouse to linebacker, which would be a good move for him (think late-round steal in dynasty league play). Crosby will be worth a look as a bye-week kicking replacement if he earns the top job. Wynn is worth a look as a late-round flier in the deepest of leagues because of his running technique, not necessarily his speed. The rest of the class will provide depth for the Lions and compete for spots along the depth chart.
