News: Buccaneers fullback Erik Lorig scored his first career touchdown in Week 8 against the Vikings. Lorig was on the receiving end of a 1-yard scoring strike from Josh Freeman in the first quarter. It was his only reception in the 36-17 win.
Analysis: Lorig continues to see snaps at fullback but had never really made much of an impact in Fantasy until Thursday night. However, owners shouldn't get used to it as he is normally used as a blocking back. While he may pull down a few more receptions this season, Lorig cannot be counted on to be a reliable Fantasy option at this point. Continue to ignore him in all formats heading into Week 9.
News: Bucs Rookie FB Erik Lorig, who has also practiced at tight end and defensive end, could see more playing time at fullback in the Week 9 game at Atlanta because starting FB Earnest Graham has been nursing a sore hamstring. "Great to have (Lorig's) versatility," coach Raheem Morris said.
Analysis: Lorig will not be featured from the fullback position if he does get a chance to play on Sunday. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.
News: The Buccaneers have re-signed DL Erik Lorig to their 53-man roster.
Analysis: Lorig, a rookie out of Stanford, will provide depth at the defensive end spot and can continue to be ignored in IDP Fantasy play.
News: The Buccaneers released DE Erik Lorig on Tuesday to make room for DB Aqib Talib, who was activated from his suspension.
Analysis: Lorig can continue to be ignored in Fantasy play.
News: The Buccaneers announced Friday that they have signed rookie DE Erik Lorig to a four-year contract. Lorig was a Buccaneers seventh-round selection in this year's NFL Draft out of Stanford. As a three-year starter and co-captain with the Cardinal, Lorig finished his collegiate career with 95 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
Analysis: Lorig will compete for playing time along the Bucs' defensive line, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all IDP leagues on Draft Day.
News: Bucs coach Raheem Morris said rookie DE Eric Lorig may get some looks at tight end. "We look at Lorig not as a project but a luxury," Morris said of the seventh-round pick from Stanford.
Analysis: Either way, Lorig is not expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use at this point. Keep him off of rosters.
News: In addition to Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy and UCLA DT Brian Price, Tampa Bay also drafted Vanderbilt DB Myron Lewis (third round), Virginia Tech DB Cody Grimm (seventh round), FSU LB Dekoda Watson (seventh round) and Stanford DE Erik Lorig (seventh round).
Analysis: None of these players drafted in Round 3 or later have much of a chance to start and be productive statistically. Keep them all off of Fantasy rosters.
