Mohamed Massaquoi another Jerricho Cotchery?

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/22/2013) Rex Ryan expressed greater optimism about newly acquired wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi than perhaps his production has warranted. Ryan told ESPNNewYork.com that Massaquoi reminds him of Jerricho Cotchery.

"When he came out, he had a tremendous burst, a great football player," Ryan said of Massaquoi. "Hopefully, we'll see that from him here."

Massaquoi never caught more than 36 passes or three touchdowns in any of his four seasons with Cleveland despite starting 43 of 54 games. Cotchery snagged 164 passes for 2,091 yards in his third and fourth years combined with the Jets.

Massaquoi could be slot guy

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/15/2013) The Florida Times-Union reports that Jaguars receiver Mohamed Massaquoi’s best chance to play this season will come at the slot position since the Jaguars have Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon locked in as their starters. In his last two games for Cleveland last year, Massaquoi played 19 of his 39 snaps against Kansas City and Washington in the slot or inside as part of a bunch formation. “It’s weird because the slot is a world of difference than the outside,” he said. “But I’m comfortable playing either one.” Massaquoi and Jordan Shipley are expected to compete for playing time in the slot.
