News: The Bengals promoted cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris from the practice squad on Saturday. Cincinnati cut tight end Richard Quinn in the corresponding roster move.
Analysis: Quinn hasn't seen a down in an NFL game since 2010 and has one career catch for 9 yards. He has no Fantasy value.
News: Cincinnati bolstered its depth at a weak position and signed tight end Richard Quinn on Tuesday. Quinn, who was released by the Redskins earlier this month, takes the roster spot of offensive lineman Kyle Cook, who was placed on injured reserve under the designated to return status.
Analysis: Quinn played in all four preseason games with Washington, but tallied just one reception for nine yards. He is expected to be used primarily as a blocker with the Bengals and should be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News: Washington signed TE Richard Quinn on Tuesday to help provide depth at the position for the ailing Redskins. He will take the roster spot of Chris Baker, who was placed on injured reserve.
Analysis: With TE Fred Davis suspended for the remainder of the season, Washington needed to make a move to help its depleted group of tight ends. However, Quinn is not expected to become a valuable Fantasy option and should remain untouched in all formats.
News: The Denver Post reports that the Broncos have reached an injury settlement with TE Richard Quinn. He was originally placed on the injured reserve because of a knee ailment, but the team found a way to pay him and release him from the IR.
Analysis: Quinn is still rehabbing his knee, so there is no telling how long it will take for another team to sign him. Even if he does, there is little confidence in thinking he will make a big Fantasy impact in 2011. Ignore Quinn in all formats.
News: The Broncos placed TE Richard Quinn on injured reserve Tuesday with a knee injury. He was waived/injured on Monday.
Analysis: Quinn was merely fighting for a backup TE job with the Broncos. He had no Fantasy value to begin with, so continue to ignore him.
News: Broncos WR Richard Quinn caught his first career pass in Week 15 against the Raiders. He and QB Tim Tebow hooked up on a 9-yard strike in the 39-23 loss. It was his only target of the game.
Analysis: Quinn had a solid preseason but has been little-used by the Broncos this season. It was nice to see him get his first career grab but until his role improves in the offense, he will continue to have minimal Fantasy value. Leave Quinn on waivers for Week 16 against the Texans.
News: The Broncos drafted TE Richard Quinn in the second round in 2009 despite the fact that he had only 12 receptions his final two college seasons. The team said his low production was caused by lack of opportunity, not bad hands. Practices both this year and last seem to dispute that as Quinn drops the ball on a regular basis.
Analysis: Quinn isn't highly sought after in Fantasy Football in the first place. Save for a smashing preseason where he gets a lot of playing time and receptions, he won't be worth owning. Daniel Graham may end up being the Broncos tight end to own this season.
News: The Eagles acquired LB Ernie Sims in a three-way deal with Detroit and Denver on Monday. Philadelphia dealt a fifth-round pick to the Broncos, who are sending tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-round pick to the Lions. Scheffler, a Michigan native, told the Denver Post that he's excited to join the Lions and reportedly had to tell Lions head coach Jim Schwartz that he wouldn't ask for a contract extension this season. Scheffler fell out of favor with the Broncos last season, benched for the season finale because of 'attitude' problems. The Broncos are now left with Daniel Graham and Richard Quinn at TE.
Analysis: Neither Graham or Quinn have much Fantasy value since both are better suited as blockers than receivers. Graham could be a useful red-zone target for the Broncos if they don't add another TE to replace Scheffler, but Graham and Quinn should be ignored on Draft Day in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News:Matt Willis, Peyton Hillis, Chris Simms, Spencer Larsen and Richard Quinn all failed to record a stat in the Broncos' Week 17 game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: None of these players will have any Fantasy value heading into the 2010 season. Do not take any of them on Draft Day.
News: Broncos QB Chris Simms and TE Richard Quinn both dressed but failed to record an offensive stat in Week 16 against the Eagles.
Analysis: Simms and Quinn primarily come off the bench for Denver and don't play a regular part in the offensive scheme. Neither player has a ton of Fantasy appeal heading into Week 17 against the Chiefs.
News: The following Broncos players did not have an offensive statistic in Week 14 at Indianapolis: QB Chris Simms, WR Kenny McKinley and TE Richard Quinn.
Analysis: None of these players carry any Fantasy appeal. Leave them on waivers in all leagues.
News: Broncos WR Brandon Stokley, WR Jabar Gaffney and TE Richard Quinn all played in Denver's Week 13 rout of the Chiefs but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Stokley and Gaffney have minimal value in deeper leagues, but, along with Quinn, should not be started in Week 14 at Indianapolis.
News:Eddie Royal, Spencer Larsen, Peyton Hillis, Richard Quinn and Chris Simms all failed to get a stat on Thursday in a Week 12 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Royal injured his thigh in this game and did not play in the second half. The rest of these players have little to no Fantasy value.
News: Broncos WR Brandon Stokley and TE Richard Quinn didn't record offensive statistics Week 11 against the Chargers.
Analysis: Stokley hasn't contributed meaningful Fantasy statistics in weeks, and Quinn has yet to do so this season. Leave both players on waivers.
News: Denver had a lot of players go without stats in the Week 10 loss at Washington. Those players are as follows: WR Jabar Gaffney, FB Spencer Larsen, TE Daniel Graham, WR Kenny McKinley and TE Richard Quinn.
Analysis: Gaffney has been a solid third or fourth option this season in the passing game for QB Kyle Orton but has yet to go for a touchdown or more than 82 receiving yards in any game. He does not need to be on rosters for Week 11 against the Chargers. In fact, none of the players listed above should be active for the Week 11 game.
News: Denver has listed the following players as inactive for the Monday night game against Pittsburgh: TE Richard Quinn, RB Peyton Hillis, S David Bruton, WR Brandon Lloyd, DE Ryan McBean and QB Tom Brandstater (3rd QB).
Analysis: Hillis has three receptions on the season for 16 yards and does little in the running game for the Broncos. He should be left on waivers with the rest of the players listed above. None have Fantasy value at this time.
News: Denver WR Brandon Stokley got the start in the Week 8 loss at Baltimore. He did not stat in the game. Other players who played but did not stat are as follows: FB Spencer Larsen and TE Richard Quinn. Backup QB Chris Simms did not play.
Analysis: Stokley has a few touchdown catches this season but otherwise has very limited Fantasy value since he doesn't see consistent catches or looks in the passing game. Leave him, and the other players listed above, on waivers for Week 9 against Pittsburgh.
News: Denver TE Daniel Graham started on Monday night at San Diego in Week 6 but did not make any catches or pick up any stats in the game. Running back Peyton Hillis, RB LaMont Jordan and TE Richard Quinn played in the game but had no stats. Backup QB Chris Simms did not see action.
Analysis: While he sees regular playing time, Graham has little Fantasy appeal on a weekly basis. Jordan is in the same boat. The rest of the players above have no value. Leave them all on waivers for Week 7 as the Broncos are on bye.
News: Broncos WR Kenny McKinley, WR Brandon Stokley, RB Peyton Hillis, TE Richard Quinn and QB Chris Simms all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat Week 5 against the Patriots.
Analysis: Stokley has been a pretty good third receiver in his career, but now that Josh McDaniels is running the show in Denver, he has slipped down the depth chart. He now doesn't even factor on a regular basis. Most of these players don't and have little to no Fantasy appeal as well. Keep them reserved in Week 6 as the Broncos play the Chargers.
News: Broncos WR Kenny McKinley, WR Brandon Stokley, RB Peyton Hillis, TE Richard Quinn and QB Chris Simms didn't record offensive statistics Week 4 against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Stokley was a decent contributor in Weeks 1 and 2, but he has now gone two games without stats. Leave him and the rest of these players on waivers.
News: Broncos WR Brandon Stokley, TE Richard Quinn and QB Chris Simms didn't record offensive statistics Week 3 at Oakland.
Analysis: Stokley got a few catches in the first two games, but he's not a major part of the passing game. Neither Quinn nor Simms ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave all three players on waivers.
News: Denver TE Richard Quinn and backup QB Chris Simms did not record a stat Week 2 against the Broncos.
Analysis: Simms is the backup in Denver and is not expected to challenge Kyle Orton for the starting job. Ignore both of these players in Fantasy play.
News: In the Broncos' Week 1 win at the Bengals, WR Kenny McKinley, TE Richard Quinn and backup QB Chris Simms were active but did not record any stats.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of standard rosters for now. The Broncos host the Browns in Week 2.
News: Denver Broncos rookie tight end Richard Quinn has pleaded innocent to harassment and domestic violence charges stemming from a Labor Day quarrel with his girlfriend. Quinn appeared in court Tuesday morning and was released on a personal recognizance bond. A trial was set for January. "Richard is looking forward to clearing his name after the season is over," said Peter Schaffer, Quinn's agent and lawyer. "Right now he's focused on being the best father he can be, an upstanding member of the Denver Broncos and an upstanding member of society." Quinn wasn't at the open portion of practice Tuesday after spending the night in jail nor was he in the locker room during the team's media access period. Quinn was ordered held overnight in jail without bond per Colorado law in domestic dispute cases. "I have talked to Richard and I'm not going to comment on it," coach Josh McDaniels said after practice. "We're going to support him and also let the legal process play out and again I'm not going to comment on that whole situation."
Analysis: The last thing Denver coach Josh McDaniels needs now is another team distraction and problem-case. Quinn will not likely miss any time but he could lose favor with his coach if deemed a trouble maker. Ignore Quinn in all seasonal leagues this year.
News: Denver Broncos rookie tight end Richard Quinn has been arrested on harassment and domestic violence charges. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department says Quinn was arrested early Monday afternoon after a woman called 911. The woman told deputies that her live-in boyfriend, Quinn, grabbed and shook her to the ground during an argument and grabbed the phone from her while she was trying to dial 911. The 22-year-old woman told deputies that Quinn also grabbed her cell phone. She says she ran to another house in the suburban Denver neighborhood to call police. Deputies say Quinn told them he grabbed the woman only after she started hitting him in the face, but had no visible marks on his face. Team spokesman Patrick Smyth says the Broncos have no comment on Quinn's arrest. Quinn was being held in jail without bond. He was due in court Tuesday morning. A second-round pick out of North Carolina, Quinn played in all of the Broncos' preseason games.
Analysis: The last thing Denver coach Josh McDaniels needs now is another team distraction and problem-case. Quinn will not likely miss any time but he could lose favor with his coach if deemed a trouble maker. Ignore Quinn in all seasonal leagues this year.
News: According to the official team web site, Broncos rookie TE Richard Quinn could be a better receiver than originally thought. Quinn was widely regarded as one of the top blocking tight ends at the college level. But coach Josh McDaniels said Quinn isn't just a one-dimensional player. He snagged 12 catches for 124 yards at the University of North Carolina, but that had a lot to do with the system and the fact that the school had three wide receivers chosen in the 2009 NFL Draft. "He didn't catch a lot of balls at North Carolina, but that wasn't because he can't catch," McDaniels said. "They didn't use him that way very much in their system, in their scheme, but he showed very good hands during the course of the spring."
Analysis: Quinn might be a better receiver than expected, but he's still competing with Tony Scheffler and Daniel Graham for playing time. Ignore Quinn in all seasonal leagues this year.
News: The Broncos have signed second-round draft pick Richard Quinn and fifth-round pick Kenny McKinley. Quinn was highly regarded for his blocking skills at North Carolina, where the tight end had 12 receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns in 34 games. McKinley is a wide receiver who set records with 207 receptions and 2,781 receiving yards at South Carolina. He played in 47 games and had 19 touchdowns.
Analysis: Neither player has much of a chance to help the offense in 2009, so they shouldn't be taken with anything more than a late-round pick in the deepest of dynasty/keeper league drafts this summer.
News: According to the official team web site, Broncos rookie TE Richard Quinn could make an impact this season. He was known in college at North Carolina for his blocking, but Broncos coach Josh McDaniels saw something else when selecting him in the 2009 NFL Draft: soft hands. "He didn't catch a lot of balls at North Carolina, but that wasn't because he can't catch," McDaniels said. "They didn't use him that way very much in their system, in their scheme, but he showed very good hands during the course of the spring." While Quinn has confidence in his own skills, McDaniels has confidence in the rookie's role for the upcoming season. The coach believes he adds a new thread to an already diverse corps. "He can catch the ball, he's got soft hands, we can move him and he certainly can handle his own on the line as a blocker," McDaniels said. "But when you're going to use two and three tight end packages during the course of the season, you'd love to have three guys that you feel good about. To have three guys that can run block, pass block, catch passes in the passing game and make an impact at more than one thing, I think that's very valuable to us."
Analysis: Quinn might be getting rave reviews, but he has minimal Fantasy value playing behind Tony Scheffler and Daniel Graham. The safe option is to ignore Quinn in all leagues.
News: The Colorado Springs Gazette reports rookie Broncos TE Richard Quinn, who was drafted in the second round out of North Carolina, didn't plan on getting drafted at all. "I thought maybe I'd be a free agent and be blessed to have the opportunity to come to a team and maybe try out," he said.
Analysis: Quinn is viewed as more of a blocker than anything else. He only had 12 catches in his college career. He has minimal Fantasy value and might even be moved to offensive line. Ignore him in all leagues.
News: The Broncos drafted Robert Quinn in the second round of the NFL Draft at pick No. 64 overall from North Carolina. Quinn is more of a blocker than anything else and will likely play behind Tony Scheffler and Daniel Graham.
Analysis: Ignore Quinn in all leagues this year. There's a chance he could be moved to offensive tackle, and he fits the mold at 6-foot-4, 264 pounds.
