Bears waive TE Eldridge

News: The Bears announced Tuesday they re-signed quarterback Josh McCown and releases tight end Brody Eldridge to make room on the roster. McCown was signed given the uncertain status of quarterback Jay Cutler, who sustained a concussion Week 10 vs. Houston.
Analysis: Eldridge was signed in mid-October, but he didn't make an appearance for Chicago this season. He was just roster depth and should continue to be ignored in Fantasy.

Bears sign TE Eldridge

News: The Bears announced Monday they signed tight end Brody Eldridge and waived running back Kahlil Bell.
Analysis: It's going to be interesting to see how the Bears use Eldridge. We imagine he is mostly being brought in for blocking purposes, but only time will tell. Although, there is no need for Fantasy owners to take a flier on Eldridge at this time.

Rams make some cuts Monday

News: On Monday, the Rams released wide receivers Charles Gilbert and Brandyn Harvey, running back Calvin Middleton, linebackers Alex Hoffman-Ellis and Noah Keller, tight end Brody Eldridge, fullback Todd Anderson and defensive lineman John Gill.
Analysis: None of these players were expected to make a significant impact in 2012 and can be left off all Fantasy rosters.

Eldridge to play in Week 12?

News: The Colts announced on Monday that TE Brody Eldridge (hand) could play Sunday against Carolina. Eldridge suffered a broken bone against Atlanta two games ago. He saw light work in Monday's practice. "Brody is still making real good progress, and his status is such where it will be day-to-day," Jim Caldwell said.
Analysis: Eldridge could see an increased role on offense with Dallas Clark banged up but he would have to get back on the field first. Keep an eye on both of their statuses to see if they will be able to play on Sunday. Eldridge gets plenty of playing time for the Colts in two-TE sets, but he's not much of an offensive contributor, having yet to catch more than two passes in a game this season. Continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy leagues.

Eldridge to miss some time

News: Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Monday that TEs Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) both sustained "significant injuries" in Week 9 vs. Atlanta and the injuries will last "more than a week." Jacob Tamme will benefit from their absence.
Analysis: Eldridge gets plenty of playing time for the Colts in two-TE sets, but he's not much of an offensive contributor, having yet to catch more than two passes in a game this season. He should be left on Fantasy waivers.

Eldridge injures hand in Week 9

News: Colts TE Brody Eldridge left Week 9 against the Falcons with a hand injury. He was targeted only one time before leaving, catching a 6-yard pass. Coach Jim Caldwell provided no injury updates after the game.
Analysis: Eldridge gets plenty of playing time for the Colts in two-TE sets, but he's not much of an offensive contributor, having yet to catch more than two passes in a game this season. Regardless of whether or not he's healthy for Week 10 against the Jaguars, you wouldn't want to use him in Fantasy.

Eldridge out produces Clark

News: Colts TE Brody Eldridge caught two of the three passes thrown his way in Week 7 against the Saints. He finished the game with 12 yards, which was more than starter Dallas Clark, who was not even targeted once. Indianapolis lost to New Orleans, 62-7.
Analysis: Eldridge is a third-string tight end for the Colts and is not worth owning in any Fantasy format. The Colts face the Titans in Week 8, a team that gave up more than 100 yards receiving to tight ends in Week 7.

Eldridge gets rare reception

News: Colts TE Brody Eldridge caught an 8-yard pass against the Cowboys in Week 13. The reception was just his fourth of the season and first since Week 6.
Analysis: As a reserve tight end, Eldridge rarely gets a chance to contribute on offense. He's not worth owning in any Fantasy leagues.

Eldridge injured vs. Texans

News: Colts TE Brody Eldridge left Week 8 against the Texans in the first half with a rib injury. He did not return in the 30-17 win.
Analysis: Eldridge got the start at tight end in Week 8 but did not record a catch before leaving the game. He has just three catches for 23 yards on the season, but hasn't gotten much playing time. Keep an eye on his status as he could have appeal in deeper leagues, when healthy.

Eldridge gets the start

News: Colts rookie TE Brody Eldridge will start at tight end in place of TE Jacob Tamme in Week 8 against the Texans. Tamme will start at H-Back in place of Eldridge.
Analysis: Eldridge has just three catches for 23 yards on the season, but hasn't gotten much playing time. Apparently he will now start at TE in place of Tamme and could see a few passes thrown in his direction, but it's tough to see how many with all the weapons the Colts have on offense. We only recommend using him if you are desperate.

Eldridge almost a factor

News: Colts rookie TE Brody Eldridge was targeted twice in Week 4 against the Jaguars, catching one pass for 10 yards. His other target came deep in Jacksonville territory at the end zone. The ball would go off his finger tips and be intercepted by Anthony Smith.
Analysis: Eldridge has two catches on the year for 18 yards. Playing behind Dallas Clark and all of the other weapons on Indy leaves very little room for the rookie. Heading into Week 5 against Kansas City, Eldridge should not be on anyone's radar and left of waivers.

Eldridge a non-factor in Week 3

News: Colts TE Brody Eldridge had one catch for 8 yards in Week 3 against the Broncos. He was targeted twice in the 27-13 victory.
Analysis: Eldridge is the backup to Dallas Clark and does not see enough snaps to warrant any Fantasy value. He can be left on the waiver wire heading into Week 4.

Eldridge to make '10 impact?

News: The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts rookie TE Brody Eldridge has impressed with his hands this preseason ,even though he spent most of his college career at Oklahoma blocking as either an offensive lineman or tight end opposite first-round pick Jermaine Gresham. "He's got good hands,'' Manning said of Eldridge, who has caught four passes for 44 yards in two preseason games. "He's got soft hands."
Analysis: Eldridge still has some work to do if he wants to make the 53-man roster, but he's off to a great start through a pair of preseason games. If the Colts decide to keep him around as the second TE opposite Dallas Clark, Eldridge might have some value in deeper leagues, but he's not worth drafting yet.

Eldridge plays well again

News: Colts rookie TE Brody Eldridge continues to impress during the preseason. The fifth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma started against the Bills on Thursday, catching two passes for 32 yards. Primarily a blocker, Eldridge has four catches for 44 yards in two preseason games.
Analysis: Despite his fine showing, Eldridge remains a long shot to make the 53-man roster. Even if he does make the team, he won't see much playing time behind Dallas Clark. He can be ignored on Draft Day outside of rookie-only drafts, where he's worthy of a late selection.

Eldridge's hands impressing Peyton

News: Colts rookie TE Brody Eldridge has opened some eyes during the Colts' offseason, but it was QB Peyton Manning who named him when asked about a player he was impressed with. Eldridge, who primarily was a blocker at Oklahoma, has shown athleticism and nice receiving skills of late, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Analysis: Eldridge had 13 career catches for the Sooners but has a pretty big body for Manning to target. We doubt that he'll find any regular playing time this season behind Dallas Clark and the other tight ends on the roster, so keep him off of Fantasy rosters. He's OK to draft late in the deepest of rookie-only drafts, and that's it.

Colts draft TE Eldridge

News: The Colts drafted TE Brody Eldridge in the 2010 NFL Draft. He's expected to work as a reserve blocking tight end.
Analysis: Figure that he's a pick for the future. With 13 catches in four years at Oklahoma, you can be sure that he won't be an amazing Fantasy option. Keep him off rosters.
