by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Heyward-Bey is struggling to find a prominent role with his new club. He finished last season with just 29 catches for 309 yards and one touchdown for Indianapolis.

(8/16/2014) Steelers wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion) and Martavis Bryant (groin) both returned to action Saturday night at home against the Bills in preseason action.

Heyward-Bey entered the game in the second half and finished without a grab despite being targeted once. Bryant got some work in the fourth quarter. He caught two of the three passes thrown his way for 18 yards.

Steelers working on Darrius Heyward-Bey's confidence

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/14/2014) Steelers receivers coach Richard Mann told the official team website that he's focused on getting Darrius Heyward-Bey to feel better about his game heading into the season. Heyward-Bey has posted one decent season since being taken seventh overall by the Raiders in 2009. He's competing for playing time with the Steelers this summer.

"What we are doing with him is just trying to get his confidence up," Mann said. "He has speed. He has talent. We'll teach him what to do, and hopefully we can put him in a position to succeed with his speed and intelligence. We will take advantage of what he does best."

Haley confident in Steelers receiving corps

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/24/2014) The Steelers lost Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery this offseason as free agents, but offensive coordinator Todd Haley is confident in his group this year, reports ESPN.

In losing Sanders and Cotchery, the Steelers have to replace 1,342 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, which could be hard to do.

"It's as deep a group as I've been around from top to bottom," Haley said. "I think some guys that are pretty good football players probably won't make the team."

The Steelers have Antonio Brown as their No. 1 option, and Markus Wheaton is penciled in as the other starter. Lance Moore was signed to take Cotchery's role as the No. 3 receiver, and rookie Martavis Bryant is competing with Darrius Heyward-Bey for the No. 4 spot. Justin Brown is also in the mix for a role.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5/10/2014) With the 118th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected wide receiver Martavis Bryant from Clemson.

Standing at 6-foot-3, 211 pounds, Bryant dazzled at the combine with a 4.42 40-yard time. He had 42 receptions for 828 yards and seven touchdowns in 2013. He will join a crowded receiving group that includes Antonio Brown, Lance Moore, Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Steelers still plan to draft a receiver early

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/2/2014) Despite signing free agent receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, the Steelers "will still take a wide receiver with one of their first three picks" in the draft, reports ESPN.com. Pittsburgh lost Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery in free agency while adding Lance Moore and Heyward-Bey.

The Steelers hope second-year wideout Markus Wheaton takes a big step forward and develops into a starter opposite Antonio Brown.

Report: Colts unlikely to re-sign Darrius Heyward-Bey

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/13/2014) Wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey might be on the move again this offseason. The Indianapolis Star believes the odds are heavily stacked against Heyward-Bey receiving a new contract from the Colts after signing with them on a one-year, $2.5 million deal last year.

Heyward-Bey caught 29 passes and one touchdown and was eventually passed over for playing time by undrafted free agents Griff Whalen and Da'Rick Rogers.

Two in, one out for Colts on Saturday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(1/10/2014) The Colts appear set to have starting nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin (rest) and strong safety LaRon Landry (concussion) in their lineup Saturday at New England. Both practiced fully on Friday and have been listed as probable.

A hamstring injury, however, will keep wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey sidelined. He has been ruled out. Heyward-Bey has been a non-factor all season with just 29 catches for 309 yards and one touchdown.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(1/7/2014) Colts wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey is unlikely to play this week against the Patriots.

Hamstring still an issue for Darrius Heyward-Bey

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/4/2014) Colts wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey made no impact in Saturday's Wild Card playoff game against the Chiefs, as his balky hamstring forced him from the game before he recorded a single catch.

The Colts won the game, 45-44, so Heyward-Bey has another week to get through practice with the injury. They will play either the Broncos or Patriots next weekend.

The only other offensive probable is lineman Mike McGlynn (elbow).

The defensive probables are defensive backs Sergio Brown (groin), Darius Butler (quad), Vontae Davis (groin) and Greg Toler (groin), linemen Ricky Jean Francois (foot) and Cory Redding (shoulder) and linebackers Bjoern Werner (ankle) and Robert Mathis (rest).

They'll take on the Titans Week 13.
