(8/30/2014) The Buccaneers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Tampa Bay cut the following players: DB Marc Anthony, LB Nate Askew, OL Edawn Coughman, CB Kip Edwards, DE T.J. Fatinikun, CB Anthony Gaitor, LB Ka'Lial Glaud, CB Keith Lewis, OL Jamon Meredith, OL Andrew Miller, FB Lonnie Pryor, OL Jeremiah Warren, K Connor Barth, DE Larry English, RB Jeff Demps, QB Mike Kafka and SS Major Wright.

(8/30/2014) The Buccaneers have released running back Jeff Demps and quarterback Mike Kafka, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport has reported.

Demps managed one rushing attempt and three catches a year ago for Tampa Bay.

(2/6/2014) With Tony Romo rehabbing from back surgery and Kyle Orton the only other quarterback on the roster, the Cowboys worked out former Eagles quarterback Mike Kafka, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Kafka's only playing experience came in 2011, when he threw for 107 yards and two interceptions in four appearances with Philly.

(8/30/2013) The Jaguars have trimmed its roster down to 54 players after parting ways with backup quarterbacks Mike Kafka and Matt Scott on Friday, the team announced.

Players also released were wide receiver Jeremy Ebert, defensive end Pannel Egboh, running back Jonathan Grimes, linebacker Brandon Marshall, wide receiver Charly Martin, offensive tackle Pat McQuistan, guard Drew Nowak, cornerback Kevin Rutland, defensive tackle D'Anthony Smith, linebacker Julian Stanford and cornerback Marcus Trufant.

Wide receiver Toney Clemons and defensive end Ryan Davis were among the first-year players released. Defensive tackle T.J. Barnes, offensive tackle R.J. Dill, tight end Ryan Otten, wide receiver Tobais Palmer, safety Steven Terrell and linebacker Mike Zimmer were among the rookies released.
