Chris Cook signs with 49ers

(3/14/2014) The 49ers have signed cornerback Chris Cook, reports the Sacramento Bee. It is a one-year deal.

Cook spent the first four years of his career with the Vikings. In 2013 he had 47 total tackles. He has yet to record an interception.

(2/28/2014) Vikings cornerback Chris Cook would like to return to Minnesota in 2014, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

"If they want me to come back, I would love to come back," said Cook, who is scheduled to become a free agent. "But ultimately it's not my decision. So I'm just waiting and working out. ... I would be more than happy to come back. I really enjoyed the guys I played with."

(2/25/2014) Vikings cornerback Chris Cook, an impending free agent, gave up a league-high nine touchdown passes last season despite missing four games with injuries. He has yet to intercept a pass in 29 career starts.

But ESPN.com guesses Minnesota will bring back Cook, 27, on a one-year deal. The website notes new coach Mike Zimmer has shown a "willingness to gamble that he can get more out of players who haven't hit their potential yet."

Evans was the only player who was limited in practice Friday. The other six were able to participate in full practice.

All seven players were able to get through full practice Friday. Smith, Cook, and Fusco were limited in practice Thursday.

Peterson and Gerhart will not play, leaving Matt Asiata with the full-time workload. Rhodes and Fusco were listed as doubtful heading into the game.

(11/7/2013) The Minnesota Vikings had five players on the roster ruled out for Thursday's Week 10 game against Washington when Wednesday's official injury report came out. All five players are among the Vikings' inactives for the Week 10 game.

Those players are as follows: Running back Matt Asiata (shoulder); defensive backs Chris Cook (hip) and Jamarca Sanford (groin); defensive lineman Fred Evans (knee); and tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot).
