News: The 49ers signed RB Ian Johnson to the practice squad on Monday. In a corresponding move, the team released RB Xavier Omon.
Analysis: Omon was merely an extra back for the 49ers, who has not appeared in a regular season game in over the last two years. He can be ignored in all formats, especially when he isn't even on a roster.
News: The Seattle Seahawks have terminated the contract of TE John Owens and waived RB Xavier Omon. The team announced Tuesday it had let go of Owens after the six-year veteran played in all 16 games last season for the Seahawks, with three starts. He caught three passes for 16 yards. Seattle signed the 30-year-old Owens last May. He played three seasons with Detroit and two with New Orleans. The Seahawks signed Omon to their practice squad in November. Seattle holds its first minicamp under new coach Pete Carroll on April 13-15.
Analysis: Omon has minimal Fantasy value when he's on an active roster. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News:Xavier Omon has landed with the Seahawks. He's expected to battle for a roster spot this season.
Analysis: Omon has minimal upside even though the Seahawks' RB corps isn't anything to write home about. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: Bills WR James Hardy's comeback from knee surgery is complete after being added to the team's active roster Wednesday. The second-year player was activated by the team on Wednesday after spending the first nine weeks of the season on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list. Hardy, a second-round draft pick out of Indiana, has been out since tearing a ligament in his left knee last December. To make room on their roster, the Bills waived third-string running back Xavier Omon, a sixth-round draft pick last year.
Analysis: Omon shouldn't have been owned in Fantasy leagues in the first place.
News: Buffalo TE Jonathan Stupar saw action Week 8 in a loss to Houston. He did not stat in the game. Backup QB Gibran Hamdan and RB Xavier Omon did not play in the game.
Analysis: None of these players ever contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Bills' list of inactives for Week 7 at Carolina includes DB Donte Whitner, DB Bryan Scott, RB Xavier Omon, TE Shawn Nelson, DL Chris Ellis and WR Roscoe Parrish.
Analysis: None of these players contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy even when healthy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: Bills WR Roscoe Parrish, WR Justin Jenkins, FB Corey McIntyre, backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, RB Xavier Omon, WR Josh Reed and TE Jonathan Stupar all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 5 vs. the Browns.
Analysis: None of these players produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep these players on waivers going forward. The Bills play at the Jets in Week 6.
News: Bills WR Roscoe Parrish, TE Shawn Nelson, WR Justin Jenkins, RB Corey McIntyre, TE Derek Fine, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, RB Xavier Omon and TE Jonathan Stupar all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat Week 4 at Miami.
Analysis: Parrish, Nelson and Fine are usually good for at least one catch per week, but the Bills passing offense is really struggling right now and the receptions just aren't there. Most of these players are reserves and have a minimal impact in Fantasy. Consider them less than desirable Fantasy options heading into Week 5 against the Browns.
News: Bills RB Xavier Omon had one carry for 5 yards during a Week 3 loss to the Saints. He has five carries for 22 yards in three games.
Analysis: The Bills have used Omon very sparingly as a backup to Fred Jackson with Marshawn Lynch serving a four-game suspension. Once Lynch is back, we might not see Omon at all. He is not worth owning in Fantasy. The Bills play the Dolphins in Week 4.
News: Buffalo RB Xavier Omon got two carries Week 2 against the Buccaneers in a 33-20 win. He gained a total of 9 yards in the game.
Analysis: Omon got two carries for 8 yards Week 1 backing up Fred Jackson and had a nearly identical performance against the Buccaneers. He does not need to be owned in any Fantasy format right now.
News: Buffalo backup RB Pavier Omon, one of two active RBs for the Bills on Monday night against the Patriots, rushed twice for 8 yards behind Fred Jackson.
Analysis: Omon barely registered even with absolutely no other backup options for the Bills. That tells us he's not going to be a Fantasy option worth owning in any leagues unless Jackson gets hurt before Marshawn Lynch returns from suspension Week 4. Do not use Omon in Fantasy in Week 2 against Tampa Bay.
News: In a mild surprise, Dominic Rhodes has been released by the Bills according to multiple sources. Rhodes was expected to provide depth at the position through at least the first three weeks of the season while Marshawn Lynch served a suspension. Xavier Omon might get a few touches in those three games now that Rhodes has been released.
Analysis: Omon isn't worth owning in Fantasy play -- he's still behind Lynch and Fred Jackson on the Bills' depth chart. But he's worth keeping an eye on since he could see touches here and there this season.
News: Bills third-string RB Xavier Omon didn't return to Thursday's preseason game against the Lions after hurting his calf. He had four carries on 17 yards.
Analysis: Omon has been buried on the depth chart in Buffalo and might not survive the last round of cuts. Even if he does, we don't expect him to make a huge Fantasy impact. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy.
News: With the Bills' addition of RB Dominic Rhodes in mid-April, reserve RB Xavier Omon remains buried on the club's depth chart and is unlikely to see relevant touches in the club's first few games of the season with starter Marshawn Lynch suspended.
Analysis: Omon isn't expected to produce enough stats in 2009 to warrant Fantasy use. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: NFL Network reports that Bills RB Marshawn Lynch will miss his team's season finale vs. the Patriots with a badly bruised shoulder. Fred Jackson is expected to start in his place with Xavier Omon seeing some touches.
Analysis: Lynch should be benched in keeper leagues and dropped in seasonal leagues as owners make a mad scramble to replace him. Fred Jackson would be an ideal option, with Omon a last-ditch choice off the waiver wire. With the winds howling in Orchard Park this Sunday, Jackson could see a ton of touches. We like him as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy RB this week, especially for owners who just lost Lynch.

News: Bills RB Xavier Omon had two carries in Week 16 at Denver. He gain a yard and lost a yard to finish with no yards against the Broncos.
Analysis: Omon is too far down the team's depth chart to be considered useful in Fantasy. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues.
News: Buffalo has listed the following players as being inactive for Week 15 at the Jets: RB Xavier Omon, DB Jabari Greer, DB Dustin Fox and TE Jonathan Stupar.
Analysis: Stupar is a rookie from Virginia that is nothing more than roster depth and can be ignored in Fantasy at this point. The same Fantasy fate goes for the other names mentioned above.
News: Bills QB Trent Edwards (groin) was listed among the inactives as the third QB for Buffalo's Weel 14 game vs. Miami in Toronto. Also not in uniform will be: WR Justin Jenkins (coach's decision), RB Xavier Omon (coach's decision), CB Jabari Greer (knee), TE Jonathan Stupar (coach's decision) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot).
Analysis: Edwards was listed as doubtful all week, so hopefully you made alternative arrangements at the QB position. Schobel is the only other one on this list with any Fantasy value, and his lies in deeper IDP leagues when healthy. Ignore everyone else.
News: Bills WR Steve Johnson, WR Justin Jenkins, FB Cory McIntyre, WR James Hardy, TE Derek Fine, RB Xavier Omon and TE Jonathan Stupar all dressed for Buffalo's Week 13 loss vs. San Francisco, but failed to record an offensive statistic.
Analysis: Hardy is the only one in this group with any Fantasy value, but his is more in keeper leagues than in seasonal formats. The rest of these guys can be ignored heading into Week 14 vs. Miami in Toronto.
News: The Bills listed WR Justin Jenkins, RB Xavier Omon, WR Josh Reed, DL John McCargo and QB Gibran Hamdan among their inactives for Week 11 against the Browns.
Analysis: Reed normally starts, but he'll miss this game with an ankle injury. Fortunately, he never does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy, just like the rest of these players. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Bills inactives for Week 10 at New England include QB Gibran Hamdan, DB Donte Whitner, RB Xavier Omon, LB Teddy Lehman, WR Josh Reed and DL Aaron Schobel.
Analysis: Keep Reed, Whitner and Schobel reserved in all leagues for Week 10. Lehman, Hamdan and Omon have minimal Fantasy value even when healthy.
News: Buffalo hosts the Jets on Sunday of Week 9 and have listed the following players as inactive and out for the game: RB Xavier Omon, DB Ashton Youboty, DL Aaron Schobel, DL John McCargo and the third quarterback is QB Gibran Hamdan.
Analysis: Schobel is the only Fantasy-viable name among this bunch, and he was already declared out earlier in the week. Continue to ignore the rest.
News: The Bills have named the inactives for their Week 8 game at Miami. Not in uniform will be: third QB Gibran Hamdan (coach's decision), WR Steve Johnson (coach's decision), WR Justin Jenkins (coach's decision), RB Xavier Omon (coach's decision), CB Ashton Youboty (coach's decision) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot).

News: The Bills listed WR Roscoe Parrish, QB Gibran Hamdan, RB Xavier Omon, RB Corey McIntyre, TE Derek Fine and DL Chris Ellis among their inactives for Week 5 at Arizona.
Analysis: None of these players does enough statistically to have Fantasy value even when active. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Bills listed the following players as inactive for Week 4 at St. Louis: QB Gibran Hamdan (third QB), WR/KR Roscoe Parrish, DB Reggie Corner, RB Darian Barnes, OL Demetrius Bell, TE Derek Fine and DL Chris Ellis.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: The Bills listed the following players as inactive for Week 2 at Jacksonville: QB Gibran Hamdan (third QB), WR Steve Johnson (coach's decision), RB Xavier Omon (coach's decision), DB Reggie Corner (coach's decision), TE Derek Fine (hand) and DL Chris Ellis.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Bills TE Derek Schouman, WR Justin Jenkins, FB Darian Barnes, WR James Hardy, QB J.P. Losman and RB Xavier Omon all dressed for Buffalo's Week 1 win over the Seahawks but didn't record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Hardy and Losman have some Fantasy value simply because of their potential later this season, but the rest should be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News: Buffalo RB Xavier Omon saw time in the first half of Sunday's preseason tilt against the Indianapolis Colts and saw daylight in the endzone. Omon rushed six times for 17 yards, including a 1-yard TD plunge. He also caught one pass for eight yards.
Analysis: Omon has minimal Fantasy value coming into 2008. He likely won't compete for many carries this year unless all three guys on the depth chart ahead of him get hurt. In rookie drafts, you can ignore Omon as well.
News: The Buffalo News reports Bills RB Dwayne Wright and Xavier Omon continue to battle for the No. 3 spot behind Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson. Wright is a big back who runs hard. Omon is smaller but might be better than Wright at breaking tackles. Wright remains the favorite.
Analysis: Neither back is worth drafting in Fantasy leagues in 2008. Unless Lynch and Jackson get hurt, Wright and Omon won't see the field much this year.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that RB Xavier Omon had five carries for 16 yards in Buffalo's first preseason game against Washington.
Analysis: Omon has minimal Fantasy value coming into 2008. He likely won't compete for many carries this year unless all three guys on the depth chart ahead of him get hurt. In rookie drafts, you can ignore Omon as well.
News: The Bills signed sixth-round pick, RB Xavier Omon on Thursday. Omon, selected 179th out of Division II Northwest Missouri, became only the second college player to have 1,500 yards rushing in each of his four seasons. He finished with 7,073 yards rushing and scored 98 touchdowns. Omon is expected to compete with Dwayne Wright for the third-string job behind starter Marshawn Lynch and backup Fred Jackson.

News: Sixth-round RB Xavier Omon signed a four-year contract with the Bills on Thursday. He finished with 7,073 yards rushing and scored 98 touchdowns. Omon is expected to compete with Dwayne Wright for the third-string job behind starter Marshawn Lynch and backup Fred Jackson.
Analysis: Omon was a talented rusher in college and could be in line for some playing time if Lynch gets hurt. Don't count on that so quickly, so only take a look at Omon as a middle- to late-round pick in rookie-only drafts this summer.
