Fantasy Faceoffs: Week 16 dilemmas

Each week our Dave Richard and Jamey Eisenberg will literally bring their inter-office debating to your computer, explaining why they like one player over another based on a particular week's matchup. As always, we'll try to come up with debates that you might have either with yourself or fellow owners.

Jamal Lewis at Cincinnati or Earnest Graham at San Francisco?
Dave Richard Jamey Eisenberg
Dave Richard Lewis will face the Bengals in Week 16, a team he crushed for 216 yards and a touchdown back in Week 2. Cincinnati's run defense is still atrocious (Frank Gore had 138 yards on them last week), which means Lewis will have ample opportunity to run wild. And if the weather stinks, we know he'll still see a lot of work. Graham has been hot, but so has the 49ers' run defense. They held Rudi Johnson to 16 yards last week and did a fair job against the Vikings two weeks back save for one long run by Chester Taylor (they did hold Adrian Peterson to three yards on 14 carries). The Bucs are traveling cross country, and Graham's efforts won't match that of Lewis, who will also be on the road but at least in the same state. Jamey Eisenberg Lewis has been great recently, but Graham has been better. In his past six games, Graham has 547 yards rushing and seven touchdowns and 23 catches for 150 yards. He's taken over for the injured Cadillac Williams and Michael Pittman and hasn't looked back. Now he faces the 49ers, who have allowed 119 yards rushing per game and nine touchdowns this season. Lewis, by comparison, has 604 yards rushing over that span but only five touchdowns and 16 catches for 105 yards. Lewis also has a favorable matchup this week at Cincinnati, but you have to figure Lewis is a little tired after 33 carries last week against Buffalo. Graham, meanwhile, should be fresh and ready to dominate his matchup. So if you're lucky enough to have this decision to make this week, go with Graham. Both are playing well, but Graham is better.
Ben Roethlisberger at St. Louis or Carson Palmer vs. Cleveland?
Dave Richard Jamey Eisenberg
Dave Richard He may be on a short week, but Roethlisberger and the Steelers will have to be on point if they want to win their division. He might not have Palmer's yardage, but he'll throw more touchdowns against a bad St. Louis defense. When 'Housh' gets healthy, I'll reconsider Palmer. Jamey Eisenberg Forgot about Palmer's recent struggles because this week he gets the Browns, who are tied for last in the NFL with 27 touchdown passes allowed. In Week 2 at Cleveland, Palmer had 401 yards passing, six touchdowns and two interceptions. In Palmer's past three games against the Browns he has 1,028 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Those stats make me giddy.
Maurice Jones-Drew vs. Oakland or Kevin Jones vs. Kansas City?
Dave Richard Jamey Eisenberg
Dave Richard Jones-Drew as a second fiddle in Jacksonville is better than Kevin Jones as a first -- and forgotten -- fiddle in Detroit. The Lions' playcalling is so random that you never know what you'll get with Jones. At least I know that 'MoJo' will see around 15 touches with goal-line looks. Good enough for me. Jamey Eisenberg In the Chiefs' past seven games, here's what starting running backs have done against them: 801 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Their run defense has fallen apart, and Jones should benefit, especially at home. Jones has rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns in his past two homes games and has five touchdowns in six home games this season.
Calvin Johnson vs. Kansas City or Shaun McDonald vs. Kansas City?
Dave Richard Jamey Eisenberg
Dave Richard I'm picking talent here as Johnson displayed some fantastic ability last week at San Diego. McDonald has stepped up in place of Roy Williams, but the Chiefs won't have an answer for Johnson. By the way, Kansas City gave up two TDs to Tennessee's Roydell Williams last week. Jamey Eisenberg McDonald has outplayed Johnson this year. In the past two games without Roy Williams, McDonald has 13 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. Johnson has 10 catches for 153 yards and no scores, including a 49-yard Hail Mary last week at San Diego. Kitna appears to have more trust in McDonald, and you should as well.
Steve Smith vs. Dallas or Joey Galloway at San Francisco?
Dave Richard Jamey Eisenberg
Dave Richard Matt Moore might not be Jake Delhomme, but he's not Vinny Testaverde (at 44) or David Carr, either. Moore hit Smith eight times last week for 72 yards, his best numbers since Week 6! You have to have faith that Smith will offer a similar output vs. Dallas on Saturday. Jamey Eisenberg Galloway has been reliable this year, while Smith disappeared in Week 6. That's the last time Smith scored a touchdown or went over 100 yards. And when it comes to receivers, you want a dependable quarterback. I'll take my chances with Jeff Garcia and Galloway over Matt Moore and Smith. You just can't trust Smith at this point.

Do you agree with Dave or Jamey? Send your thoughts to DMFantasyFootball@cbs.com and we'll post the best responses. Be sure to put Attn: Fantasy Faceoff in the subject field. Include your full name, hometown and state.
