Enough to go around in Dallas?

Miles Austin was in awe to make the Pro Bowl last year. He never expected to be there when the 2009 season started.
Austin began last year as the No. 3 wide receiver for the Cowboys behind Roy E. Williams and Patrick Crayton. He had five catches through the first four weeks of the season and was on his way to another nondescript year, his fourth in the NFL.
And then it happened.

Williams was out in Week 5 at Kansas City with injured ribs, and Austin stepped into the starting lineup. He had 10 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs, and he's become a Fantasy darling ever since. Austin finished last season with 81 catches for 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns. He's looking forward to another big year in 2010, and he wants to keep improving and hopefully make a second Pro Bowl appearance.
"It's just a lot of work," Austin said in an interview with CBSSports.com. "I've always been trying to get better. It's a lot of work, a lot of practice and a lot of extra stuff. I'm going to continue to try and do it."
Austin has been true to his word. He's a restricted free agent, but he hasn't let the lack of a long-term deal keep him from practicing with the team this offseason.
He wants to prove that he's not a one-year wonder, and we expect him to have another outstanding season. He should be drafted in all Fantasy leagues as a No. 1 wide receiver with a pick as early as Round 3.
Tight end Jason Witten said Austin can be even better this year. Witten said Austin and quarterback Tony Romo developed an instant chemistry once Austin was inserted into the starting lineup.

Added Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett: "It's a great example of a guy just continuing to work hard and take advantage of his opportunity. His approach has been outstanding, and I think he can get better and better."
It's up to Garrett to make sure that happens for Austin by getting him the ball. The Cowboys selected talented wide receiver Dez Bryant in the first round of the NFL Draft and still have Witten and Williams on the roster. Patrick Crayton is also still with the Cowboys, but he's a candidate to get traded, and the running backs (Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice) can all catch out of the backfield.
That's a lot of talent for Romo, who is a potential Top 5 Fantasy quarterback this year, but also a lot of targets to share among the receivers. Based on last season, Romo expects to focus on Austin quite a bit.
Austin tied Witten for the most targets last year with 125. Witten finished with 94 catches for 1,030 yards and two touchdowns, but he was a starter from Week 1. Romo favored Austin over Witten once he was the starter.
"I think Miles gave us a big boost when we needed it, and now I think we've got some depth at that position and we like who we've got going forward," Romo said. "He's a hard worker. He comes in and throws with me all the time. He likes being in the complex. He'll be easy to get going."
Romo is also fond of Witten, who returns as a No. 1 Fantasy tight end. He is worth drafting as early as Round 4 in all leagues.
And Romo expects Williams to play better this season after he struggled last year with 38 catches for 596 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams is facing a challenge for his starting job from Bryant, but Romo said Williams still has the potential to be a productive wide receiver.
"I would think that as we go forward, I'm sure that the production side will continue to grow each year and the familiarity of the offense for me and him, there's a lot of things that can go into it," Romo said. "His pass routes can be different than somebody else's and sometimes you need more time to throw certain routes to him, sometimes there's less time, whatever it is -- there's a million things that go into it. I think a big part of it is throwing and catching, and we'll do it again this offseason -- and we'll be better next year."
Williams should remain the starter opposite Austin, and Williams is still worth drafting as a reserve Fantasy wide receiver. Bryant, who has gotten rave reviews this offseason, also projects as a reserve Fantasy option in all leagues, and he should be the best rookie wide receiver.
And Crayton, depending on where he ends up playing, could still be worth a late-round pick in deep Fantasy leagues. But Austin is the star of this receiving corps, and he wants to remain a star in the NFL and return to another Pro Bowl.
He called the experience last year "a great accomplishment," but he feels like "I have a long way to go as far as doing anything."
He's right, but if he plays like last year, Austin will be in the Pro Bowl again and could be there for many years to come. That will make the Fantasy owners who draft him in 2010 very happy.
