Lions backup runners do little Week 3
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(4:52 pm ET) The Lions backup rushers did little Week 3 against the Packers.

Theo Riddick got three carries, and gained 16 yards. Riddick did not receive a target in the passing game. Fullback Jed Collins got one carry, picking up 2 yards. Receiver Jeremy Ross also had a carry, but lost 5 yards. He also caught three passes for 20 yards during the game.

They'll take on the Jets Week 4.

A.J. Green catches six passes for 102 yards in Week 3 win
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4:52 pm ET) Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green racked up 102 yards on six receptions in his team's 33-7 blowout win over the Titans in Week 3.

Green opened Cincinnati's first offensive drive with a 15-yard completion and hauled in three catches by the end of the first quarter, but the Bengals offense didn't need to take many chances after shooting out to a big lead in the first half. Green finished the day with six catches and nine targets, the same totals he had in Week 1 before sitting out last week due to a toe injury. He'll be looking to reach paydirt for the first time since Week 1 when the Bengals head to New England to face the Patriots after a Week 4 bye.

Andrew Hawkins remains on roll Sunday for Browns
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4:51 pm ET) Browns diminutive wideout Andrew Hawkins showed in a loss to Baltimore on Sunday why he has become their go-to receiver.

Hawkins caught two passes in the first quarter, worked his way open in the right flat for a 24-yard reception on the first drive of the second and continued to contribute. He added a 29-yard gain late in the third quarter in which he faked out defensive back Asa Jackson.. That play led to a touchdown. Hawkins finished with seven receptions for 87 yards and now has 21 catches for 234 yards in three games.

He will not catch any passes next week - the Browns are now on their bye.

Joique Bell unable to do much Week 3
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(4:49 pm ET) Lions running back Joique Bell was not able to do much Week 3 against the Packers.

Bell gained 33 yards on 15 carries during the contest. He averaged just 2.1 yards per attempt. Bell was not a threat in the passing game, and didn't receive a target. He was overshadowed by Reggie Bush during the start.

Bell will look for more Week 4 against the Bears.

EJ Manuel tosses one score in loss
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4:49 pm ET) Bills quarterback EJ Manuel put together a decent performance in a 22-10 loss to the Chargers in Week 3 Sunday.

Manuel passed for a season-high 238 yards, however he also completed just 23 of 39 attempts, good for a season-low completion percentage. He tossed one touchdown, an 11-yard pass to Fred Jackson in the third quarter, while adding 24 rushing yards without a turnover.

Manuel has done a good job holding on to the ball so far this season, as he has three touchdowns and one interception through the air, while adding one rushing touchdown without a fumble. He has 613 passing yards in three games, with the Bills set to take on the Texans in Week 4.

Jeremy Hill reaches paydirt in Week 3 win vs. Titans
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4:48 pm ET) Bengals running back Jeremy Hill rushed for 39 yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown in his team's 33-7 win over the Titans in Week 3.

Hill put the icing on a dominant Cincinnati win with his fourth-quarter score from four yards out. He received just three carries in the game before toting the ball four times on that fourth-quarter scoring drive. The Bengals chose to turn to Giovani Bernard on goal-line carries earlier in the game, with the starter converting twice from one yard out. While Bernard has averaged 3.4 yards per carry or fewer in each of the team's first three wins, Hill hasn't averaged less than 4.8 yards per carry in a game this season. The Bengals will head to New England in Week 5 after a bye.

Reggie Bush finds the end zone Week 3
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(4:47 pm ET) Lions running back Reggie Bush turned in an effective game Week 3 against the Packers.

Bush picked up 61 yards on 12 carries. He scored the only offensive touchdown by the Lions during the contest. Bush also caught six passes for 38 yards. He was one of the few offensive threats for Detroit during the game. Bush averaged 5.1 yards per attempt, nearly three yards higher than Joique Bell during the game.

Bush will take on the Bears Week 4.

DeAndre Hopkins surpasses 100 yards in Week 3 loss
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(4:44 pm ET) Texans second-year wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had his second career 100-yard receiving day and fell 1 yard shy of tying his single-game career high in a 30-17 loss Week 3 at N.Y. Giants. Hopkins finished with six catches for 116 yards.

Hopkins should have set a new career high in receiving yards Sunday, but his beautiful 53-yard, one-handed catch late in the second quarter was wiped out by an illegal formation penalty on Tyson Clabo.

All but one of Hopkins' catches went for at least 10 yards. His longest catch was 49 yards and he was targeted nine times. Though, Sunday was the first time in three games he did not have a touchdown.

The Texans are back in action Week 4 against the Bills.

Steve Smith makes big plays in big win over Browns
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4:43 pm ET) Wide receiver Steve Smith continued to make a huge impact on his new team Sunday. He not only led the way for the Ravens with five receptions for 101 yards, but he made the catch that allowed his team to best the Browns.

Smith snagged a 33-yard pass from Joe Flacco with just over a minute left to set up the game-winning field goal. If not for that play, those numbers would not have mattered.

"When I line up, I think there's no better option than myself," he told the team website after the victory. "That's what we're here for - to make plays."

Smith has made plenty of plays in two games, including catches of 25 and 30 yards against fine Cleveland cornerback Joe Haden on Sunday. He aleady has 13 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown. He will seek to pile on to those impressive numbers when his team hosts Carolina in Week 4.

Giovani Bernard scores twice in Week 3 blowout
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4:43 pm ET) Bengals running back Giovani Bernard scored two touchdowns from one yard out in his team's 33-7 blowout win over the Titans in Week 3.

Outside of the scoring plays, Bernard was largely held in check. He ended the day with only 47 yards on 14 carries, and he caught only one of three targets for seven yards. The running back had tallied 13 catches and 141 receiving yards heading into Sunday's game, but the Titans did a good job game-planning to stop him. Bernard didn't averaged more than 3.4 yards per carry in either of his first two games, and that trend continued Sunday. He'll get a week off due to the team's upcoming bye before facing the Patriots in Week 5.
