Report: Jets QB change not fully supported by coaches, players
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:10 am ET) Although Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that "everybody's on board" with the decision to replace Michael Vick with Geno Smith at quarterback, it appears that might not be totally true, according to the New York Daily News.

Sources told the Daily News offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg was among the majority of people in the organization, including players, who wanted Vick to remain the starting quarterback. Ryan also preferred to continue to start Vick, who was benched during a 38-3 loss Monday against the Bills.

However, Ryan made the decision to change starting quarterbacks because he wants to avoid conflict with his bosses -- owner Woody Johnson and general manager John Idzik. Ryan wants to take the high road before looking for his next job, sources told the Daily News.

"I think the best thing for this team right now is to play Geno Smith," Ryan said Wednesday. "Does he give you a good chance to win? Or a chance to win? I believe he does give us a chance to win."

Lions RB Reggie Bush will be sidelined again Week 13
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:07 am ET) Lions running back Reggie Bush will miss a third straight game Thursday against the Bears due to an ankle injury, a source told CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Following Thursday's game, the Lions will have a nine-day break, so the team is very hopeful Bush will return Week 14 vs. Tampa Bay.

Bush, who was listed as questionable, had told reporters he expected to return to action Week 13. While he is still not able to play because of the ankle injury, he has recovered from a back injury, according to La Canfora.

With Bush sidelined, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick are expected to see the majority of reps at running back for Detroit.

Report: RG3 likely won't be back with Redskins next season
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9:50 am ET) After being benched in favor of quarterback Colt McCoy, it is highly unlikely Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will return to the team next season, people within the organization told Washington Post columnist Jason Reid.

Reid wrote first-year Redskins coach Jay Gruden was able to convince owner Daniel Snyder and team president/general manager Bruce Allen change was necessary. Snyder and Allen believed Griffin could return to his rookie form from 2012, when he went 9-6 as a starter and led Washington to a playoff berth. The duo hired Gruden to help get Griffin's career back on track, but in recent weeks they started to see the same shortcomings Gruden had notice since the preseason, teams officials told Reid.

Griffin is 13-20 with 7,272 passing yards and 1,404 rushing yards in 33 career games. He has 38 passing touchdowns, seven rushing touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

Report: Late December the best case for Eagles' Nick Foles
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12:18 am ET) Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is hoping to return in late December, according to philly.com.

Foles has yet to have a follow-up on his broken collarbone, but is expected to go next week. He was initially slated to miss 6-8 weeks due to the issue, but that could be optimistic. The best case scenario for Foles is a possible Week 16 return against Washington. Foles has been preparing as though he's going to return again this season, according to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. "He's involved in every single meeting," Shurmur said. "He's out there on the field. He's throwing and running."

Foles has already missed three games due to the injury.
