Lions QB Stafford merely mediocre in defeat of Bears
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4:16 pm ET) Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was held without a touchdown pass for the fourth time this season Sunday at Chicago, but the result was still another victory for his playoff-bound team.

Stafford finished 22 of 39 for 243 yards and his first two-interception performance since Oct. 19. The first pick was off a disastrous decision in the red zone and the second killed a promising opportunity as well.

He will try to play better in the regular season finale next Sunday at Green Bay.

Several benefit from Keenan Allen's absence
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4:16 pm ET) With wide receiver Keenan Allen sidelined by a broken collarbone Week 16 at San Francisco, wide receiver Eddie Royal saw the biggest increase in targets for the Chargers. He led the team with 12, catching 10 passes for 94 yards. But wide receiver Malcom Floyd and tight end Antonio Gates saw an increase as well. Floyd's 10 were a season high. He caught four of them for 50 yards and a score. Gates' nine were tied for his second most this season. he caught two touchdown passes for the first time since Week 8.

For the most part, Gates has gone as quarterback Philip Rivers has gone this season, so maybe his resurgence was more a product of Rivers throwing for 356 yards and four scores than Allen's absence. Likewise, Floyd has been Rivers' downfield threat all season and has had games with similar numbers, even if the targets were less, so if you're going to add a player in Fantasy (not that you could add Gates, of course), it should probably be Royal.

Of course, the four touchdown passes were out of character for Rivers, at least going by recent weeks, so against one of the league's best pass defenses Week 17 at Kansas City, he's unlikely to repeat those numbers. And in that case, Royal's would likely suffer as well. It's not like Allen was consistently delivering for Fantasy owners, so maybe outside of deeper leagues, it's best to pass on Royal altogether.

Colts declare Week 16 inactives
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3:37 pm ET) The Colts ruled the following players inactive for Sunday's game at Dallas: wideout T.Y. Hilton (hamstring), defensive back Jalil Brown, defensive back Sheldon Price, guard Hugh Thornton, guard Joe Reitz, guard Gosder Cherilus and nose tackle Montori Hughes.

Philip Rivers too unpredictable to use
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3:36 pm ET) Facing a top-five defense and having to do without top wide receiver Keenan Allen, who was sidelined by a broken collarbone, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers looked like he didn't stand a chance Week 16 at San Francisco. After all, he hadn't been playing so great anyway, perhaps because of a bulging disk in his lower back, throwing for multiple scores in just one of his previous six games.

So naturally, he goes and throws for four touchdowns Saturday night, completing 33 of 54 passes for 356 yards. He had three interceptions as well, but the net result for his Fantasy owners was extremely positive.

Of course, only 41 percent of them actually benefited from it. The rest sat Rivers, who again, had done his best to sink them in recent weeks.

I wouldn't let this performance change my approach to him in the season's final week. His previous two matchups against Denver and New England had the makings of shootouts, and he couldn't make it happen. And now come reports of him looking into back surgery in the offseason. Clearly, he's not feeling right, and he's playing with less than a complete arsenal. So while he deserves credit for this big game against the 49ers, you shouldn't anticipate a repeat in an even more difficult matchup Week 17 at Kansas City.

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3:30 pm ET) Ravens right tackle Ricky Wagner had to be carted off the field and into the locker room during Sunday’s game against the Texans.

Wagner will not return to the game. Offensive lineman James Hurst replaced Wagner in the lineup.

Jets WR Percy Harvin (ribs) downgraded to out for Week 16
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(3:28 pm ET) Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin was downgraded from questionable to out for the remainder of Sunday's home game against New England with an injury to the ribs, per the team's official website. Harvin suffered the injury in the third quarter after registering four catches for 44 yards and 1 yard on two carries.

The Jets will end the season in Miami against the Dolphins.
