Hakeem Nicks not a starting option yet
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2:28 pm ET) Colts wideout Hakeem Nicks started slowly this preseason but came on to catch eight of nine targets for 86 yards. The team plans to use their free-agent acquisition in all three-receiver sets and some two-receiver sets as well, according to Stampede Blue.

That said, Nicks isn't worth starting until his role crystallizes. Consider him a WR4 for Week 1 at Denver.

Jaguars list Denard Robinson as No. 2 RB
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2:24 pm ET) The Jaguars released their unofficial depth chart for the season opener against the Eagles, and one of the bigger surprises was listing Denard Robinson as the backup running back to starter Toby Gerhart. Robinson is listed ahead of Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson on the depth chart.

Johnathan Joseph set to play Week 1
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2:21 pm ET) Texans starting cornerback Johnathan Joseph did not play a single preseason snap as the team managed his comeback from January foot surgery, reports ESPN.com. Joseph said he'll play Sunday against Washington "without a doubt."

Joseph hedged when asked if he's 100 percent, saying "somewhere along the lines."

Larry Fitzgerald sits out
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2:15 pm ET) Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald missed Tuesday's practice with a knee issue, reports the Arizona Republic. Arizona plays Monday night and won't release its first injury report until Thursday.

Matt Tobin out with high ankle sprain
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2:09 pm ET) Eagles tackle Matt Tobin expects to be sidelined at least 2-3 weeks due to a high ankle sprain, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Chris Polk expecting to be ready for Week 1
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2:06 pm ET) Eagles running back Chris Polk (hamstring) said Tuesday "the plan is" for him to be active Week 1 against the Jaguars, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Arian Foster eager for season opener
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2:02 pm ET) Texans running back Arian Foster told reporters Tuesday he felt, "Wonderful, physically," after being held out of preseason action for precautionary reasons. Foster underwent season-ending back surgery in 2013.

"I’m excited about that (Sunday’s regular-season opener against Washington). I can’t wait to play football," he said, per the Houston Chronicle.

Vikings adjust practice squad
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(1:44 pm ET) The Vikings signed guard Austin Wentworth to their practice squad and waived cornerback Kendall James from the squad.

T.Y. Hilton a divisive figure Week 1
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(1:40 pm ET) T.Y. Hilton is the Colts' most explosive receiver and he opens the season with a projected shootout in Denver. Indy will throw plenty to keep up with Peyton Manning, making Hilton an easy start, right?

Senior Fantasy Writer Dave Richard thinks so, ranking Hilton 13th among wideouts. Colleague Jamey Eisenberg isn't on board.

Eisenberg buries Hilton at 41st in his rankings, noting Hilton's struggles when playing outdoors. Hilton averages 79.9 receiving yards in indoor games, 48.6 yards outside. Hilton averages 7.3 yards after the catch indoors, 4.5 yards outdoors. But he's scored the same number of touchdowns, six, in each setting.

Hilton ranked 16th in the NFL last year with 138 targets; that will be tough to duplicate this season with a healthy Reggie Wayne and Dwayne Allen and Hakeem Nicks' arrival.

But in this game, with Andrew Luck expected to throw 40 times, consider Hilton a high-end WR3 with the potential to go off.

Steven Jackson ready to go for Week 1
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(1:38 pm ET) Falcons running back Steven Jackson, who missed most of training camp nursing a hamstring problem, says he's amped up to face the Saints on Sunday.

"I'm extremely excited for Week 1," he told the team's website. "It's been a training camp that I missed the majority of the time, but I've been working hard physically and mentally to prepare for this coming Sunday. I feel good about it."
