Absence Friday puts Sunday in doubt for Browns TE Cameron
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:29 pm ET) Browns tight end Jordan Cameron appears destined to miss the Sunday game against Tampa Bay with a concussion that forced him out of his third straight practice Friday.

The concussion is his third in just over two years.

Cameron has been a major disappointment after a breakthrough 2013. He has just 13 catches for 250 yards and one touchdown.

Ravens LB Terrell Suggs, TE Owen Daniels practice Friday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:21 pm ET) Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs and tight end Owen Daniels were both back at practice Friday as the team prepares to play at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The participation of the former in the game was never in doubt, according to the Baltimore Sun. The latter is one week removed from arthroscopic knee surgery, but was reportedly moving well in practice Friday.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo red-lighted again Friday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:16 pm ET) Cowboys prolific quarterback Tony Romo is again absent from practice Friday with a back ailment that has kept him out all week. Each missed session strengthens the possibility that he will not play Sunday against Arizona and that Brandon Weeden will start in his place.

Despite his continued inactivity in practice, however, the Cowboys have indicated that Romo remains a game-time decision.

Buccaneers RB Martin a no-go Friday -- and probably Sunday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:10 pm ET) A sprained left ankle that again has prevented Buccaneers featured back Doug Martin from practicing Friday will probably keep him sidelined Sunday in Cleveland, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Martin shed the walking boot Thursday, but has yet to practice this week. He has also yet to break out this season, rushing for just 166 yards on 58 carries for a 3.1 average.

Bengals RB Bernard out again Friday - likely Sunday as well
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12:02 pm ET) A third straight absence from practice Friday likely means Bengals featured back Giovani Bernard will receive the red light for the Sunday game against the Jaguars, per the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Bernard has been dealing with a hip ailment sustained in Week 8. If he can't play, Jeremy Hill will serve as the primary ballcarrier.

Bengals WR Green practices Friday and likely active Sunday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:53 am ET) Bengals premier wideout A.J. Green is participating in his third straight practice Friday and is expected to return to game action Sunday against Jacksonville.

Green has been sidelined since Week 5 with a toe injury. He would hope to maintain the momentum he had gathered the previous two games combined, when he snagged 11 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown.

Report: Redskins CB Hall suffers second Achilles tear
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:40 am ET) An accident at home has resulted in a second left Achilles tear in five weeks for Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and will add up to 6-9 months to his recovery time, a source has told the Washington Post.

The veteran sustained the initial injury against Philadelphia in Week 3. He underwent surgery shortly thereafter.

Hall re-signed with Washington in the offseason on a four-year, $17 million contract, including $5.65 million guaranteed.

Dolphins WR Mike Wallace unapologetic after blasting offense
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:31 am ET) Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace has not apologized for using a curse word to describe his team's offensive performance in the Week 8 defeat of Jacksonville. The victory came courtesy of two defensive touchdowns.

Wallace also claimed his sentiment and choice of words were not designed to fire up the passing offense, which ranks 25th in the NFL.

"That really wasn't my intention," he told the Palm Beach Post. "Y'all asked me a question and I told y'all my honest answer. That's really what it is. I don't look at stuff in the media or whatever to get me fired up. I get fired up because that's what we do. We love to play the game and you just want to go out and be the best player you can be."

Wallace later added that the Dolphins need to step up their deep passing game. The speedster who specializes in catching the deep ball had just two catches for 59 yards against the Jaguars. He also had his three-game scoring streak snapped.

Panthers QB Cam Newton: 'I need to play better'
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:17 am ET) Panthers quarterback Cam Newton believes he can spot the man to blame for their lopsided loss to New Orleans on Thursday in the mirror.

Newton hit on just 10 of 28 passes for 151 yards, one interception and career-low 35.7 completion percentage. His 39.4 quarterback rating was also a career-worst. His lone score was on the ground.

"I knew I missed a lot of throws," he told his team website. "I'm not blaming anybody but myself. ... My job is to put my team in the best situation to win the football game and when that doesn't happen, the first person you look to on the offensive side is the quarterback. I didn't get that job done. I need to play better."

Rivera: Panthers RBs Williams, Stewart need more touches
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:11 am ET) Ron Rivera emphasized after the Thursday night loss to New Orleans that Panthers backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart need more touches going forward. The game marked the first time all season the pair shared the backfield.

Both carried eight times with Stewart earning 40 yards to 20 for Williams, who added a 30-yard gain on a screen pass. Rivera was unhappy with that distribution.

"It's good to have them back there," Rivera told the team website. "We are going to have to continue to find more and more chances to use them, more and more situations where we have to put the ball in their hands. They showed today that they deserve to have the ball in their hands more, and we are going to have to work on that. We have to ... take some pressure off the quarterback."

Quarterback Cam Newton did not respond well to pressure against New Orleans, completing just 10 of 28 passes.
