Report: Texans' Ryan Mallett out for season with pectoral injury
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(1:12 pm ET) Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett has been declared out for the season following a torn pectoral muscle he suffered Sunday against the Bengals, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Mallett sustained the injury during the game, but was able to finish the game. In two starts for the Texans, Mallett completed 41 of his 75 pass attempts for 400 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

With Mallett out, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to receive his 10th start of the season in Week 13 against Tennessee.

Lions could be without T Riley Reiff on Thanksgiving Day
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1:07 pm ET) Lions coach Jim Caldwell told reporters he's not certain on the status of tackle Riley Reiff's knee yet. The Lions have a short week and could be without their starting offensive lineman come Thanksgiving Day against Chicago.

Reiff left Week 12 against New England in the first quarter with a knee injury. According to ESPN, Caldwell believes the injury is not expected to be a long-term issue.

Lions prepared for potential Dominic Raiola suspension
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(1:04 pm ET) If the NFL does suspend Lions center Dominic Raiola for his cut block at the end of Sunday’s game against New England, coach Jim Caldwell told reporters the team has a plan in place to replace Raiola, reports the Detroit Free Press.

The league is currently reviewing Raiola's cut block for a potential fine or suspension. He has started every game at center for the Lions this season.

Giants LB Jameel McClain set for Monday MRI
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1:03 pm ET) Giants linebacker Jameel McClain is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured knee, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on Monday. McClain left Sunday night's game against the Cowboys with the injury, which is not believed to be a long-term issue, per Rapoport.

McClain has totaled 78 tackles (45 solo) and one forced fumble this season.

The Giants will face the Jaguars in Week 13.

Tony Romo a lock going forward
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12:59 pm ET) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw a season-high four touchdown passes Week 12 against the Giants, giving him four in a game for the first time since he had five in Week 5 last year. But nearly one-fourth of his Fantasy owners missed out on it, having sat him for ... well, who knows?

Who would be justifiable? Peyton Manning, sure. Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady also make sense. I could even understand Drew Brees, given his history. But beyond that is a pretty tough sell. True, even with this performance, Romo ranks only 13th among quarterbacks in standard CBSSports.com leagues, but it's pretty bunchy after the top three. And if Brady gets elevated for recent performance, so should Romo.

Beginning in Week 3, he has thrown for multiple scores in every game but one, making him the ninth-best quarterback in standard CBSSports.com leagues during that stretch. And that's with him missing a game due to injury. Going by Fantasy points per game instead of just total points, he jumps two more spots to seventh, and two of the quarterbacks ahead of him are Ben Roethlisberger, whose numbers are mostly the product of an insane two-game stretch, and Russell Wilson, who has tailed off significantly after a hot start.

Now look at Romo's matchups coming up. The Eagles, Bears and Eagles again give him three bottom-five pass defenses over the next three weeks, and the Colts in Week 16 aren't far off. Safe to say he should be a fixture in your lineup going forward.

Texans' Ryan Fitzpatrick expected to replace injured Ryan Mallett
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12:57 pm ET) With reports surfacing that Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett suffered a torn pectoral muscle Sunday against the Bengals, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick could be in line to receive his 10th start of the season Week 13.

In nine starts, Fitzpatrick has thrown 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, but was benched in favor of Mallett after Week 9.

Broncos LB Danny Trevathan set to return to practice Monday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12:36 pm ET) Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan will start practicing on Monday, according to the NFL Network. Trevathan suffered a fractured kneecap Week 6 against the Jets, which caused him to go on the short-term IR list. The Broncos hope to have him back on the 53-man active roster in time for Week 14 against the Bills.

Panthers guard Amini Silatolu taking reps at offensive tackle
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12:29 pm ET) With Panthers offensive tackle Nate Chandler out for the season, ESPN.com reported guard Amini Silatolu has begun working at offensive tackle. Silatolu has started seven games for the Panthers at guard this season.

After giving up nine sacks against Atlanta, the Panthers are trying to find players that can work together at various positions.

Better times ahead for Giants DST?
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12:24 pm ET) For the fourth time in five games, the Giants gave up more than 30 points in Week 12, allowing 31 on 385 yards to the visiting Cowboys. They had just two sacks and one fumble recovery.

The Giants haven't had more than two sacks in a game since Week 2 against Arizona, but of course, they've had some tough matchups in recent weeks, such as the Seahawks, Colts and now the Cowboys twice.

Because the Giants DST ranks 29th at the position in standard CBSSports.com leagues, you may not pay it a second thought on the waiver wire, but it does have some especially favorable matchups coming up, going against the Jaguars, Titans, Redskins and Rams over the next four weeks. At least for that first matchup, it's worth a flier in all leagues.

Panthers' Star Lotulelei and Andrew Norwell miss practice Monday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12:16 pm ET) The Panthers were without defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and offensive guard Andrew Norwell for Monday’s practice, reports ESPN.com.

Lotulelei suffered an ankle injury Week 10 and was inactive the following week. Norwell is dealing with a hamstring injury he aggravated Week 11.
