Chargers kicker Nick Novak misses lone field goal attempt in loss

(6:00 pm ET) Chargers kicker Nick Novak missed his only field attempt during the Chargers’ 19-7 loss to the Chiefs Sunday.

Novak missed a 52-yard attempt in the third quarter, but made his only extra point attempt.


Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel earns win in start

(5:56 pm ET) Replacing an injured Alex Smith, Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel was able to do just enough to help lead the Chiefs to a 19-7 victory over the Chargers Sunday.

Daniels completed 16 of his 27 pass attempts for 157 yards. While Daniel did not throw a touchdown, he also avoided throwing an interception.


Chargers TE Gates snags four in Week 17 loss

(5:56 pm ET) A bad afternoon for the Chargers was a mediocre one for veteran tight end Antonio Gates.

Gates tried to put up some decent numbers in the loss to Kansas City that knocked his team out of the playoffs. He caught four passes for 67 yards. He was targeted six times.

He ends the season with 69 receptions for 820 yards.


Rueben Randle closes out 2014 with a bang

(5:52 pm ET) Giants wideout Rueben Randle finished the season with his second straight 100-yard performance, catching six passes for 158 yards against the Eagles. Randle hauled in 12 balls for 290 yards and a touchdown over the past two weeks.

Randle finished his third season with career highs of 71 catches for 938 yards, with four touchdowns. He's entering the final year of his rookie deal.


Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts throws TD pass in losing effort

(5:50 pm ET) Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts was the only Jacksonville player to throw a passing touchdown in Sunday's season finale against Houston.

Shorts caught a screen pass from Blake Bortles and then fired a 23-yard strike to Jordan Todman for the score in the third quarter. Shorts turned 10 targets into five catches for a team-high 47 yards in a 23-17 defeat.

His season ends with 53 receptions for 557 yards and one touchdown.


Unheralded Thielen leads Vikings receivers Sunday

(5:49 pm ET) Vikings second-year wideout Adam Thielen entered Sunday with just five catches for 69 yards on the season. He nearly doubled those totals in the win over Chicago.

Thielen caught three passes for 68 yards and contributed a 44-yard touchdown reception from Teddy Bridgewater in the third quarter.

His efforts led an otherwise mediocre performance by the wide receivers. Also contributing were Greg Jennings (3-45), Jarius Wright (3-25) and Charles Johnson (2-22).


Jets kicker Nick Folk makes three field goals in win

(5:49 pm ET) Jets kicker Nick Folk connected on 3 of his 4 field goal attempts during the Jets’ 37-24 win over the Dolphins Sunday.

Folk missed from 45 yards which was the fifth time Folk has missed a field goal in the past seven games. His three converted field goals were from 26, 23 and 39 yards. He also made all four of his extra point attempts.


Lions' Larry Warford leaves with knee injury, questionable to return

(5:47 pm ET) Lions guard Larry Warford suffered an apparent knee injury and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Packers.

Warford went down early in the second quarter after being rolled up on. He received medical attention before being able to walk off the field under his own power. He was then carted off the field for further testing. 


Odell Beckham makes strong case for Rookie of the Year award

(5:45 pm ET) Giants receiver Odell Beckham ended his amazing rookie season with a flourish, torching the Eagles for 12 catches, 185 yards and a touchdown. Targeted a whopping 21 times Sunday, Beckham finished the year with 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games.

Beckham tied the Giants' rookie record for touchdowns and posted the most receiving yards in NFL history by any wideout through 12 games. Thus Beckham established himself as the favorite for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Beckham made a spectacular leaping grab in the third quarter and burned Philly for a 63-yard touchdown in the fourth. He'll enter 2015 as the Giants' clear No. 1 receiver.


Jets' Eric Decker gains over 200 receiving yards vs. Dolphins

(5:42 pm ET) Jets wide receiver Eric Decker has his best game of the season to help the Jets to a 37-24 victory over the Dolphins Sunday.

Decker shredded the Dolphins’ secondary for 221 receiving yards on 10 receptions and 11 targets. It was only the sixth 200-yard receiving game in Jets’ history. Decker scored on a 74-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith in the third quarter.

He finished the season with 74 receptions for 962 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
