Markus Wheaton makes four grabs
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12:16 am ET) Steelers second-year wideout Markus Wheaton caught four passes for 35 yards in the blowout win of the Panthers. Wheaton was targeted five times, tied for second on the team behind Antonio Brown's 10.

Wheaton plays the Buccaneers in Week 4.

Heath Miller more involved Week 3
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12:14 am ET) Steelers tight end Heath Miller caught four of five targets for 51 yards in the 37-19 win in Carolina. Miller, who had a 30-yard grab, had amassed just 61 receiving yards in the first two games.

He'll take on the Buccaneers in Week 4.

Antonio Brown unstoppable on Sunday night
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12:12 am ET) Steelers receiver Antonio Brown tormented the Panthers on Sunday Night Football, catching all 10 of his targets for 90 yards and two touchdowns and drawing a 19-yard pass interference flag too.

Brown stretched out for a 30-yard grab on a second-quarter go route. He dragged his feet to secure his first touchdown, a 7-yarder in the back corner of the end zone early in the third quarter. Brown capped that quarter with another 7-yard scoring catch.

This was the 19th straight game in which Brown has caught at least five passes. Brown will look to keep rolling Week 4 against the Buccaneers.

Ron Rivera: I removed Cam Newton to protect him
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12:03 am ET) Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he pulled quarterback Cam Newton in the fourth quarter of the 37-19 loss to Pittsburgh to protect him. The Steelers sacked Newton three times and hit him at least three other times.

"We can't do anything unless we protect the quarterback," Rivera told reporters, adding he didn't want to see Newton get hit any more.

LeGarrette Blount dominates garbage time
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) With the Steelers blowing out the Panthers, running back LeGarrette Blount replaced Le'Veon Bell and took advantage of a tired Carolina defense. Blount ran 10 times for 118 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown to make the score 37-13.

Blount had a 50-yard run and averaged 11.8 yards per carry. He could have more garbage-time opportunities Week 4 against winless Tampa Bay.

Ben Roethlisberger ends touchdown drought
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who had failed to lead a touchdown drive in more than eight quarters, threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's 37-19 win at Carolina. Roethlisberger completed 22 of 30 throws and did not commit a turnover.

As usual, Big Ben's favorite target was Antonio Brown. The duo hooked up 10 times for 90 yards, including a pair of 7-yard scores in the third quarter. The first was vintage Big Ben as he pump faked, scrambled out of the pocket and flipped it to the back corner of the end zone where Brown tapped his feet in.

Roethlisberger will try to keep it going Week 4 against the Buccaneers.

Le'Veon Bell rips Panthers for 157 total yards
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell ripped Carolina for a career-high 147 yards on 21 carries in a Week 3 blowout win. Bell busted an 81-yard run in the third quarter that was the longest Steelers' run in 44 years.

Bell added two catches on four targets for 10 yards. It was his second 100-yard rushing game this year, third of his career. He averaged 7.0 yards per carry.

Bell is up to 315 rushing yards heading into Week 4 against Tampa Bay.

Mike Tolbert leaves with apparent knee injury
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Panthers running back Mike Tolbert left the game against Pittsburgh late in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. Tolbert ran three times for 4 yards and caught all three of his targets for 20 yards before being forced out.

Cam Newton just so-so on SNF
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Panthers quarterback Cam Newton completed 24 of 35 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in Sunday night's loss to the Steelers. Newton ran twice for 7 yards and lost a fumble on a sack.

Newton was under heavy pressure as his line couldn't hold up against the Steelers' rush. He took three sacks and was seen walking gingerly at times. Newton's highlight came early in the fourth quarter when he found tight end Greg Olsen for a 37-yard touchdown.

Newton didn't finish the game because it was a blowout. He'll visit the Ravens in Week 4.

Cairo Santos has quiet day against Miami
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos was not needed in Week 3's 34-15 win over the Dolphins in Miami. Santos did not have a field goal attempt, but added four extra points in the win.
