(3:32 pm ET) The Bills signed former Ravens linebacker Xavius Boyd and waived linebacker Darrin Kitchens with an injury designation. Kitchens suffered a lower-body injury Tuesday.

Chargers release Larry English

(3:23 pm ET) The Chargers released linebacker Larry English, the No. 16 overall pick in 2009, reports ESPN. He never made more than 36 tackles in a season.

English did start a career-high five games last year but his season ended in November with a biceps injury.


Saints waive Moses McCray

Two more Giants taken off the field

(3:17 pm ET) Giants guard Brandon Mosley and linebacker Spencer Adkins were taken off the practice field Tuesday with undisclosed injuries, reports The Star-Ledger. Mosley was getting the first shot to replace starter Chris Snee, who retired.

Falcons work out Pat Angerer

(3:12 pm ET) Former Colts linebacker Pat Angerer worked out for the Falcons, reports the National Football Post. He made 63 tackles in 11 games last year before undergoing microfracture surgery.

Rolando McClain to stand trial Friday

(3:09 pm ET) Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain will go on trial Friday on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, reports the Dallas Morning News. McClain asked for a delay so he wouldn't miss training camp, but the Alabama judge turned him down.

The Cowboys acquired McClain on July 1. He has not played since 2012.


Giants TE Xavier Grimble carted off from practice

(2:54 pm ET) Giants undrafted rookie tight end Xavier Grimble , formerly of Southern Cal, was carted from practice on Tuesday during the team's first day of training camp. The Newark Star-Ledger reported that it looked like a left leg injury as he had it elevated while heafing back to the locker room. 

Grimble was competing for a roster spot. 


Jameel McClain carted off from Giants camp

(2:50 pm ET) The Giants linebacker corps suffered another injury when on Tuesday linebacker Jameel McClain was carted from the field to the locker room on the first day of training camp, according to the Bergen Record. The Newark Star-Ledger reports it looked like a left leg or foot injury. An update is expected later. 

McClain was signed this offseason to help provide depth at linebacker. The team is already without Jon Beason for much of the preseason and potentially the start of the regular season. 


Jeff Tuel pushing Thad Lewis for No. 2 QB job

(2:36 pm ET) Quarterback Thad Lewis is not guaranteed to be EJ Manuel's backup. Lewis and Jeff Tuel split time with the second team Tuesday.

"We have a battle for the second-team quarterback," coach Doug Marrone said. "We're trying to find out who it is. Jeff did a nice job in OTAs and he's earned himself some more reps."


Andre Williams working in goal-line package

(2:27 pm ET) Giants rookie running back Andre Williams worked in the goal-line package as the team opened training camp Tuesday, reports the New York Daily News. Williams is a 5-11, 230-pound hammer who ran for 2,177 yards and 18 touchdowns for Boston College last season.

He'll vie for carries with starter Rashad Jennings and newly cleared David Wilson.
