Attorney: Greg Hardy seeks to have domestic charges expunged

(5:34 pm ET) Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy has filed a petition to have domestic violence charges expunged from the record, according to his attorney per the Charlotte Observer.

The process to have the charges removed could take up to four months.

"Every day Americans who have misdemeanor charges dismissed file for expungement of the charges from their record," said Chris Fialko, Hardy's attorney.

Hardy has the charges against him dismissed in February after his accuser and ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder was unable to testify in a jury trial. Holder received a settlement from Hardy in an undisclosed amount, according to prosecutors.


Stephen Jones: Cowboys' Tony Romo will have big year

(4:50 pm ET) Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones is optimistic about his team's quarterback for the upcoming season. 

In an appearance on Dallas' KRLD-FM radio, Jones predicted that Tony Romo will have a career year. 

"No question in my mind," Jones said. "I think he keeps getting better. I actually had a visit with him ... and he said he's felt as good as he has felt in years, in terms of his off-season and how his body feels and the work that he's doing. The last couple of years he has been dealing with off-season surgeries and some uncomfortable things. But he said he thinks he's ready to have the best year he's ever had."


Chiefs waive CB Shaquille Richardson

(3:46 pm ET) The Chiefs released cornerback Shaquille Richardson on Tuesday, the team announced.

Richardson was signed to a one-year deal in February. He has never appeared in an NFL game.


Cowboys sign Lance Dunbar, Chris Jones to tender offers

(3:43 pm ET) The Cowboys signed running back Lance Dunbar and punter Chris Jones to their restricted free agent tender offers Tuesday, reports The Dallas Morning News. The offers were for $1.542 million.

Jerrell Freeman skipping Colts' voluntary workouts

(3:29 pm ET) Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman was a no-show at the team's offseason workouts that started on Monday.

Freeman is a restricted free agent and still hasn't signed his offer from the team, per the Indy Star. The Colts offered a one-year $2.35 million deal that would require a second-round pick as compensation from any team that signs Freeman. 

Freeman has until Friday to get an offer from another team. The Colts workouts are voluntary, so there will be no penalty for Freeman missing them.


Browns players didn't know Josh Gordon wasn't allowed to drink

(3:23 pm ET) Cornerback Joe Haden said that Browns players didn't know that WR Josh Gordon wasn't allowed to drink alcohol.

Gordon's return to the NFL was under the condition that he stay away from alcohol. 

Gordon, Haden and several teammates flew to Las Vegas on a private plane following the regular season. Gordon had several drinks on the flight and was tested by the NFL when the plane landed and was subsequently suspended for the 2015 season

"If I knew he couldn't have a drink, everybody would have tried to ... you know what I'm saying ... it wouldn't have been that," Haden said following Tuesday's OTA, per ESPN. "Josh Gordon, he's a grown man and sometimes you got to know what decisions you make."

Gordon has said he thought the alcohol ban expired at the end of the season. Haden went on to say that he thought the ban was unfair. 


Report: Ravens, Jimmy Smith agree to contract extension

(2:44 pm ET) The Ravens and cornerback Jimmy Smith have reportedly agreed on a contract extension, according to the Baltimore Sun. The extension is for four seasons, with $21 million guaranteed, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Smith was entering the final year of his current contract with Baltimore. He totaled 28 tackles with one interception in eight games last season. In his first four season, Smith has played just one full year, playing 47 of a possible 64 games. He's totaled 140 tackles with five interceptions in those seasons.


Browns confident they can sign Tashaun Gipson to extension

(2:20 pm ET) Browns coach Mike Pettine said the team is very optimistic they will be able to sign safety Tashaun Gipson to a long-term contract extension, reports the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.

Gipson was not at the team's voluntary workout program Monday or Tuesday. The Browns have the right to match any offer to Gipson or receive a second-round pick.


Cardinals QB Drew Stanton says his knee is 100 percent

(2:02 pm ET) Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton said his knee is 100 percent recovered and he has no limitations, reports Fox Sports Arizona.

Stanton suffered a right knee injury toward the end of last season.


Browns DE Armonty Bryant expects to be ready for training camp

(1:55 pm ET) Browns DE Armonty Bryant said he won't be a full participate during organized team activities or the team's minicamp in June, but he expects to be ready for training camp, reports Ohio.com.

Bryant played in five games last season before he tore his ACL and MCL in his knee.
