Falcons' Devonta Freeman hopes to be 'the man'
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(11:21 am ET) With running back Steven Jackson no longer on the team, Falcons running back Devonta Freeman said he wants to be the lead back for the team, reports ESPN.

"Personally, I want to be the man. I want to be the guy," Freeman said. "I want to make my own name with the Atlanta Falcons. I want to go really, really far. I want to set the bar high. I just want to win a Super Bowl and maybe be the MVP one day. You just never know. I feel like I'm hungrier right now. I don't know what's gotten into me this offseason. I just feel like a whole new monster. And I ain't just talking."

Freeman added that he has high expectations for himself; all he needs is the opportunity. With Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff offering support that Freeman could be the team's full-time back, Freeman said he hopes to validate his support.

"If you're getting it from those guys, those guys are the big, top dogs. That just motivates me," Freeman said.

Report: Brian Hartline visits Texans on Thursday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:15 am ET) Free agent wideout Brian Hartline visited the Texans on Thursday, according to the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

The Ohio State product was released by the Dolphins after six seasons in the league. The move was made to clear cap space for Miami in 2015. Along with the Texans, Hartline has also visited the Browns on Tuesday and Bears on Wednesday. The Patriots are also reportedly interested in his services.

After registering 1,083 yards in 2012 and 1,016 yards in 2013, the former Miami receiver took a step back in 2014 with a disappointing campaign where he caught only 39 passes for 474 yards and two scores. The 28-year-old has never caught more than four touchdowns in a season.

Mike Wallace's father: 'He thinks he's going to stay' with the Dolphins
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:12 am ET) Burnell Wallace, the father of Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace, told Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald that although the uncertainty has been "tough" for his son, he expects him back in Miami next season.

"Right now, he's been talking to them," Burnell Wallace said. "He thinks he's going to stay there. He doesn't have a problem staying. [But] they really don't know. I really can't give you a definitive answer."

Wallace, who signed a five-year, $60 million contract with the Dolphins prior to the 2013 regular season, was the third highest-paid receiver in the league in 2014 behind only Percy Harvin and Calvin Johnson. He is owed a $3 million roster bonus on March 14.

Wallace hasn't lived up to expectations in relation to his big contract, and was benched in the final game of the 2014 season after reportedly getting in a halftime argument with team personnel. He has failed to reach 1,000 yards with the Dolphins in either season after recording that mark twice with the Steelers in his first four NFL seasons.
