Blair Walsh nails three field goals
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9:18 pm ET) After missing his only field goal attempt in Week 2, Vikings kicker Blair Walsh was a perfect 3 for 3 Week 3 at New Orleans. He hit a 25-yarder in the second quarter, a 30-yarder in the second quarter and a 40-yarder in the fourth quarter. He did not have an extra point.

The Vikings host the Falcons in Week 4.

Patriots defense meets its end of the bargain
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9:16 pm ET) Though they were short on big plays against a Raiders team that had a conservative game plan, the Patriots had another strong defensive showing in Week 3. They limited the Raiders to nine points on 297 yards.

They didn't have a sack after recording six at Minnesota last week, but they did have an interception to secure the victory late in the fourth quarter. Defensive lineman Vince Wilfork made a diving grab on a twice-deflected pass with about a minute left to go.

The Patriots DST could be in for another strong showing Week 4 at Kansas City. It remains a top Fantasy option.

Montee Ball not much of a factor in Week 3 loss
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9:13 pm ET) Broncos running back Montee Ball wasn't much of a factor in an overtime loss to the Seahawks in Week 3.

Ball coughed up the rock on the first offensive play of the game. He ripped an 8-yard run before he was stripped by Kam Chancellor. Ball was limited to 14 carries for 38 yards, averaging 2.7 yards per attempt. He caught two of the three passes thrown his way for six yards.

Ball has 165 rushing yards through three games. The Broncos will be on a bye before returning to action in Week 5 at home against Arizona.

Vance Wilfork has game-clinching interception
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9:10 pm ET) Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork was in the right place at not only the right time, but also the best possible time Week 3 against Oakland. With the Raiders on the verge of scoring a game-tying touchdown with about a minute to play in the fourth quarter, a pass intended for Denarius Moore was deflected off two Patriots defenders and into a diving Wilfork's arms for a game-clinching interception.

It was the third interception of Wilfork's career. The other two came in 2011. He finished Week 3 with three tackles, including one solo.

Jerod Mayo big on tackles, as usual
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9:06 pm ET) Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo led the team with 11 tackles, including three solo, Week 3 against Oakland. It was his second game in three this season with double-digit tackles.

Mayo played only six games last season, but he recorded 55 tackles, averaging 9.2 per game.

Patriots standouts don't stand out
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9:00 pm ET) Patriots defensive linemen Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich, who are normally among their top performers defensively, didn't do much statistically Week 3 against Oakland. Jones had two tackles, including one solo, and Ninkovich had six tackles, including two solo.

Ninkovich's six tackles were actually a season high, but he still has only one sack this season. Jones has two.

Cyrus Gray scores first career touchdown in Week 3
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8:59 pm ET) Chiefs running back Cyrus Gray wasn't much of a factor in the running game, but managed to score his first career touchdown in garbage time against Miami in Week 3.

Gray barreled into the end zone from 6 yards out with 13 seconds remaining in the game. He took four handoffs for 18 yards and a score in a 34-15 victory. Three of his four carries came on the final drive of the game for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs will host the Patriots in Week 4.

Cardinals defense plays huge role in Week 3 comeback win
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8:57 pm ET) The Cardinals defense shutout the 49ers in the second half Sunday, which allowed the offense to rally from a 14-6 halftime deficit and secure a 23-14 win Week 3.

The 49ers, who had a pair of first-half touchdowns, finished with 318 yards, including 82 rushing yards.

The Cardinals defensive forced no turnovers and recorded one sack. Safety Tony Jefferson totaled a team-high 10 tackles (eight solo) and had the quarterback takedown of Colin Kaepernick. Safety Rashad Johnson had eight solo tackles and safety Tyrann Mathieu had six solo tackles.

The Cardinals are on a Week 4 bye before returning to action Week 5 at Denver.

Raiders defense holds its own
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8:55 pm ET) The Raiders hadn't looked particularly good defensively prior to Week 3 -- and in fact, gave up 30 points to the Texans in Week 2 -- but they performed admirably at New England, limiting the Patriots to 16 points on 241 yards.

They didn't force a turnover in the contest, but they did have two sacks, one each by Justin Tuck and C.J. Wilson.

The Raiders seemingly have a favorable matchup Week 4 against the Dolphins, but given how poorly they performed with what seemed like favorable matchups in their first two games, you may want to steer clear of the Raiders DST in Fantasy.

Joe McKnight scores a pair of receiving touchdowns vs. Miami
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8:55 pm ET) Chiefs running back Joe McKnight made his presence felt in the passing game, scoring a pair of touchdowns in a Week 3 win over the Dolphins in Miami.

McKnight caught a swing pass from Alex Smith for a gain of 13 yards, followed by a 26-yard catch on the ensuing drive in the second quarter. He followed that up with an 11-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. He capped off his big afternoon with a four-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter.

McKnight caught six of the seven passes thrown his way for a team-high 64 yards and two touchdowns. He had one carry for three yards in a 34-15 victory.

The Chiefs will host the Patriots in Week 4.
