Pete Carroll: Paul Richardson is 'very consistent'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4:51 pm ET) Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said rookie wideout Paul Richardson has "done really good stuff" and been "very consistent on the practice field," reports the Seattle Times.

"He shows that he understands the offense and can make adjustments to the routes and can read things and all that," Carroll added. "It’s always hard for all those young guys to be exactly right all the time. They’re going to miss some things, which he’s done in really typical fashion. But he has shown toughness, he’s shown route running ability, he’s caught tough balls underneath, he’s got open deep. We really think he’s got a chance to help us, so we’re real excited about his progress."

Report: Josh Gordon's camp considering lawsuit
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3:06 pm ET) Attorneys for Browns receiver Josh Gordon are "considering a lawsuit against the league that would include seeking an injunction to put the [one-year] suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy on hold while the legal process plays out," reports Fox Sports. However, litigation would be a gamble that would endanger Gordon's chances of reinstatement, the report said.

Allen Hurns leads NFL in preseason receiving, by a lot
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2:10 pm ET) Jaguars receiver Allen Hurns, an undrafted rookie out of Miami, has caught 13 passes for an NFL-high 230 yards and one touchdown in three preseason games. He has 45 more receiving yards than any other player, and he's averaging 17.7 yards per catch.

The performance could earn Hurns a starting spot in the regular-season opener at Philadelphia. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said he's impressed with how Hurns has handled the success.

"Really good," Bradley told the Florida-Times Union. "He just feels that there are so many other areas that he can get better at. I think for him he just wants to do everything right, not to let his teammates down. He goes out there at practice. He wants to be perfect. He doesn't want to be in the wrong place and almost a perfectionist in many ways."

The 6-3, 195-pounder caught seven balls for 113 yards and a touchdown at Detroit last Friday, most of the production coming against the Lions' first-team defense.

"He has good instincts and is really driven," Bradley said. "We saw it in OTAs – some of the quarterbacks said they really like him. They felt like this guy is a diamond in the rough. Just trust us on this. He has some talent. I think the cool thing for him was it was against the ones. He went out there and performed at that level."
