Offseason Extra: Post-NFL Draft 12-team mock

Senior Fantasy Writer
  •

Who is your favorite rookie from the 2014 draft class? And when should you draft him in Fantasy Football? That's the question on every Fantasy owner's mind following the NFL Draft.

We've got you covered.

We recently held a 12-team standard mock draft now that all the rookies are on their respective teams, and it was interesting to see what round each player was selected. In this mock draft, there were 21 rookies selected, and it's no surprise that Titans running back Bishop Sankey went first in Round 3.

Buffalo's Sammy Watkins was the first rookie receiver drafted in Round 7, and Detroit's Eric Ebron was the first rookie tight end drafted in Round 9. As expected, none of the rookie quarterbacks were drafted, which makes sense in a seasonal league.

Check out our Fantasy Football podcast!
There is no better source for entertaining Fantasy advice than our Fantasy Football Today podcast. Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg and Adam Aizer will help you pass the time as you anticipate Draft Day 2014!

There were veterans who were affected by the NFL Draft as well, but the addition of Jeremy Hill in Cincinnati and Tre Mason in St. Louis, for example, didn't hurt the stock of Giovani Bernard or Zac Stacy. Both running backs were still drafted early in the second round, and that's where they should go.

One other player of interest was Josh Gordon, who could be suspended for the season. Despite the news during NFL Draft weekend, he was still drafted in Round 7 here. As of now we don't know the length of his suspension, so this is definitely a boom or bust pick.

As always, we ask you to share your thoughts on this draft. Take advantage of our Fantasy Football Twitter feed (@CBSFantasyFB) and post your comments there, or share your thoughts on our Fantasy Football Facebook page.

In this league, all touchdowns are worth six points, and we award one point for every 10 yards rushing and receiving and one point for every 25 yards passing. We feature a starting lineup of QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, DST and a FLEX (RB/WR/TE). There will also be six reserve spots for a 15-round draft.

Our draft order is as follows:

1. Joe Polito, Social Media Coordinator
2. Peter Madden, Editorial Director, Fantasy Sports
3. Adam Aizer, Podcast/Video Host
4. R.J. White, Fantasy Writer
5. J. Darin Darst, College Football Producer

Report: Jets QB change not fully supported by coaches, players
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:10 am ET) Although Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that "everybody's on board" with the decision to replace Michael Vick with Geno Smith at quarterback, it appears that might not be totally true, according to the New York Daily News.

Sources told the Daily News offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg was among the majority of people in the organization, including players, who wanted Vick to remain the starting quarterback. Ryan also preferred to continue to start Vick, who was benched during a 38-3 loss Monday against the Bills.

However, Ryan made the decision to change starting quarterbacks because he wants to avoid conflict with his bosses -- owner Woody Johnson and general manager John Idzik. Ryan wants to take the high road before looking for his next job, sources told the Daily News.

"I think the best thing for this team right now is to play Geno Smith," Ryan said Wednesday. "Does he give you a good chance to win? Or a chance to win? I believe he does give us a chance to win."

Lions RB Reggie Bush sidelined again Week 13
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10:07 am ET) Lions running back Reggie Bush was ruled out a third straight game Thursday against the Bears due to an ankle injury. CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora was first to report Thursday morning Bush would be sidelined Week 13.

Following Thursday's game, the Lions will have a nine-day break, so the team is very hopeful Bush will return Week 14 vs. Tampa Bay.

Bush, who was listed as questionable, had told reporters he expected to return to action Week 13. While he is still not able to play because of the ankle injury, he has recovered from a back injury, according to La Canfora.

With Bush sidelined, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick are expected to see the majority of reps at running back for Detroit.

Report: RG3 likely won't be back with Redskins next season
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9:50 am ET) After being benched in favor of quarterback Colt McCoy, it is highly unlikely Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will return to the team next season, people within the organization told Washington Post columnist Jason Reid.

Reid wrote first-year Redskins coach Jay Gruden was able to convince owner Daniel Snyder and team president/general manager Bruce Allen change was necessary. Snyder and Allen believed Griffin could return to his rookie form from 2012, when he went 9-6 as a starter and led Washington to a playoff berth. The duo hired Gruden to help get Griffin's career back on track, but in recent weeks they started to see the same shortcomings Gruden had notice since the preseason, teams officials told Reid.

Griffin is 13-20 with 7,272 passing yards and 1,404 rushing yards in 33 career games. He has 38 passing touchdowns, seven rushing touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
